The man who wrote it, I never met him, but his rebuttal suggests a level of immaturity that seems unsuitable for a business owner. My attitude was fine and patient, despite dealing with incompetence. I have been a patient of this practice for several years now and have received good care no complaints....until today. Today I was told I had to pay a $25.0 no show fee for an earlier appointment that was missed. I received NO reminder call or text ( they said both were done according to their records). What upset me the most was the lack of caring/ understanding about the fact that I did NOT get the reminder call/text. The attitude I got was indifference....no customer service or understanding that sometimes things don't work properly. I will not be going back to them and will be looking for another dentist. read more

My husband and I became patients of Cornell Dental in the beginning of 2024 and right from the start were very pleased with how welcoming and professional Dr Adams and the staff were. Within a few months (after becoming a new patient) I had to have an implant done and I am extremely uneasy with having this type of dental work done but everyone made me feel so comfortable that I only have good memories. I have never been so disappointed in my last visit. Right there, on the front counter is a sign advising you can receive a free teeth whitening for a 5-star review. What kind of professional bribes patients to leave a false review? This is the tackiest way to obtain reviews. It almost doesn't matter how good of a dentist he is if he stoops to such low standards. My family and I have gone to Cornell Dental for over 10 years! Dr Adam's and staff are amazing! My husband broke a front tooth on a weekend, and they got him in same day so he wasn't walking around toothless! My youngest needed a root canal and didn't even feel it afterwards. No pain. New doctor took over when old one left. Old doctor left some of the old office staff that doesn't have a clue. Even if you could get past the inefficiencies of the office staff (who accidentally hang up on you, can't give you information about your bill, and are otherwise clueless), the hygienists and doctor are not the best. I guess I really liked the old doc, he was not the most personable all the time, especially when he was going through his divorce, but the work he did was great. New doc Adams, the work he does is not the best, had issues with it, still have issues, been back several times. Not going back again. read more

Three of my other family members go there using my insurance. Transferred my daughter from a child dentistry to their adult dentistry. The last place transferred her records to them as they confirmed. Three times their dental staff said they didn't have them while I would go back to the front desk staff and ask and they would say they did. Then as i was leaving they said they still had a half hour left on an hour appointment... yes I want my daughters teeth numbed, drilled, and done in 30 minutes total without the records. Turns out they didn't use the link the old place sent them within the 7 day window they provided to print records... then just sat us in a dental chair while they tried to figure it out. read more

I've been driving 30 min to go to my dentist for the past few years. I missed my last appointment because of this and finally decided it's not worth it and I randomly called this place which is basically next door to my apartment. I took a chance and it paid off! They were actually wonderful! The hygienist knew how to talk to me without requiring answers and no one shamed me for not flossing sometimes. The dentist himself was very nice as well. Agreed with the other review about the doctor .....when I first met the doctor he walked in looked at my x-ray, told the hygienist what needed to be done and he left. I was so shocked because he didn't even speak to me or introduce himself to me since I was a new patient. When I went back for additional work, he walked in and the first thing I saw was a needle coming at me. Again...no good morning, no hello, no small talk or anything. I have never been to a doctor of any kind that didn't at least say hello and introduce himself. The hygienist was really nice and friendly but the doctor needs to learn how to be sociable. If you have a fear of dentists this one will not make you feel at ease. read more

I literally fly all the way from LA to come see Dr. Kovanda. I hate everything about the dentist. I hate hearing all of the noises the tools make, the blood, the needles. Ugh the worst. But he is incredibly funny and makes the whole process so enjoyable. I would never in a million years say going to the dentist is "fun" but seriously....... I always have such a good experience. The staff is super nice, and very caring. He is very precise on what you need done, and doesn't beat around the bush. 10/10 for you Dr. Kovanda! read more

The new staff at Cornell dental is disorganized, not very polite, and the new hygienist who has replaced the wonderful hygienists who used to work there did a terrible job with cleaning. I would not go to this dentist again. The staff is really, really nice and the office is clean, but the Dr. is a little "different". The first time I went, after the assistant did her thing and I was all ready, he just starts working on me--no "hi, I'm Dr. So & So" --- nothing! I had a great experience here. The office was clean, the staff was friendly, the dentist and assistants all worked quickly, carefully, and made sure I was comfortable. And they explained the pricing up front - which I am not used to, but greatly appreciate! The dentist was not overly social, as LEI pointed out, however he is easy to talk to if you initiate. I introduced myself (instead of the other way around) and he responded in kind. Then again, I was focused on getting my appointment done, and always laugh at trying to hold a conversation with my mouth full of tools, so I might be easygoing here. read more

Wonderful experience! My kiddo was very pleased with this dentist. Professional, very nice, courteous and just a pleasure all around. My son was smiling and happy after his visit. I always had sought a pediatric dentist but this was by far a way better experience all around. Very gentle and comforting to my kiddo who had a slightly urgent need. Dentist was knowledgeable, well informed and took the time to explain the treatment plan. Quite a lovely place and the staff were just as warm and caring. I still go Dr. Kovanda even though I don't work out that way anymore. It's a 40 minute drive for me now. I love the office, the big windows and daylight. The staff is great and I am especially fond of Dr. Kovanda himself. He is real, practical and actually seems to care more about the patient than in making lots of money from unneeded procedures. He offers deep cleaning, electric brushes and other services for your tooth and gum maintenance. I had him replace all my amalgam fillings with porcelain. He makes any adjustments for free and has done some minor cosmetics like filing and polishing. He is a very pleasant person though maybe not a big extrovert. I would not recommend this Dentist based on the odd behavior of the dental hygienist working there named Marissa (however the rest of the staff did seem pleasant). During my first visit as a new patient, I was made very uncomfortable due to the hygienist's berating insistence on giving me a dose of x-rays even though I didn't want to pay for them and I had already had such x-rays recently at my previous dentist (which for some reason did not send over my records even though they said they did). I mentioned that I would contact my previous dentist to have my records sent and that I would just like to have my teeth cleaned. However, rather than suggesting that I should perhaps reschedule my appointment if the records were indeed necessary, the hygienist proceeded to subject me to the shortest-crummiest-you're-basically-wasting-all-of-my-valuable-time cleaning your undeserving non-x-rayed teeth I have ever had - and I've had about halve a century of these. Furthermore, I was told that "I shouldn't worry about the cost as my insurance should pay for most of it and that my portion should be small" - easily said of course when it's not YOUR money. So, I can only surmise that either this particular hygienist was having a really bad day, or perhaps this practice has more than enough patients to not worry too much about quality service. He is very gentle with shots which we can all agree is the worst part, but he makes it easy and painless. Whenever I have a tooth emergency, they do everything they can to help quickly. read more
