After consulting with a number of specialists, the consensus was clear. Dr. Puterman is the best at what he does in the DMV--and my particular case (don't ask) required the best. I confess, I was skeptical. But a little more than half a decade (and several surgeries later (don't ask), I have a functional mouth again. Not only teeth that work but teeth that look great. Best of all, the pain that tormented me for decades is gone. GONE. Obliterated. Throughout this ordeal, Dr. Puterman stuck by me. And I by him and his extraordinary staff and colleagues. Dr. Puterman was always honest. Always fair. Always honorable. Always kind. And always decent. This is not what I would have expected given the intrinsic challenges of my case and the fickle nature of human biology that doesn't always cooperate with titanium and bone grafts. And yet--here I am--finally some five plus years later. Grateful beyond words for my experience with Dr. Puterman. Don't get me wrong. I won't miss being in his chair for scores of additional hours. He told my relative they needed a tooth pulled and a few cavities filled right away! This is my relative who I care about so I decided to visit him to judge if he was a nice and honest dentist. I was surprised he told him my relative needed a tooth pulled/ multiple cavities filled. But thought I'd visit him to test him out for my relative. Well, he told me I had about 6 cavities that needed filled right away!. The week before I just visited my dentist who said I had no cavities except one small one we needed to remineralize cause it was small so no need to fix it yet. I sent my relative to my dentist who said he needed NO tooth pulled! No tooth pulled. The tooth was healthy. But, he only had one cavity needed filled. Years later...... my relative still hasn't need a tooth pulled. I told my relative to never go back there again. What do you call a dentist who tells a patient that needs to get their tooth pulled when they don't? What do you call a dentist who tells a patient they got to have multiple cavities filled right away when they no not need to get except 1? Dentist can get away with a lot of malpractice when the average person doesn't go to other dentist for a second option. To be fair to him.... they are a lot of crooks in this area. He is not special in this at all. Always go to different dentist for a second option or even when they say you need cavities filled.

While I was lying in the dental chair, I unlocked my phone then doctor took my phone and offered to help me because I was about to have the procedure on my teeth. Although he presented it as assistance, I felt uncomfortable and pressured to comply. He posted reviews without my consent. He spent several minutes using my phone to post reviews about his practice on multiple platforms. In my opinion, patients should never be asked to write reviews while the provider is standing over them, and a provider should never take control of a patient's personal device to post reviews on the patient's behalf. I also referred a friend to the practice. She later told me that while she was undergoing a procedure, reviews were posted from her accounts without her knowledge. Phone was used without her consent, My experience left me feeling that my privacy and autonomy were not respected. Patients should be free to decide whether and when to leave reviews, without pressure or anyone else using their personal devices.
