Then told us they need more teeth fixed. Fast forward to today, they are taking my son back WITHOUT ME to go under sedation to have cavities fixed with adults I know nothing about. It's absolutely UNACCEPTABLE. No matter how much they preach that children are better behaved without parents when my son is at the brink of tears TELLING THEM "I want my mom to go back with me" THEY KEEP TELLING MY MINOR SON "ItS CoMPaNy PoLiCy" it's a JOKE. My son has anxiety and the guy that was going to drill out his cavity had little to no patience for him. They gave him a sedation drink and that wasn't enough so they put the gas mask on him we are not allowed back so who knows what else happened but after my son was able to tell me what happened I decided not to ever go back. They did not tell my son they were strapping him down to a table and so my son was scared and shared that the straps were really tight and when he tried lifting his head the dentist pushed his forehead down onto the table with his pointer finger in my opinion that is not ok the same guy gave up rather quickly at his previous appointment. read more

Update: if you are looking for Dr Mike he opened up his own clinic called Floss is Boss dentistry in UP. Go there and leave smiles 4 kids. I met the new doc and wasn't impressed, later I had to get my sons cavities filled. Basically they sedate your kid, they can't remember anything so it's less stress but I was mad that Dr Minh never came to talk to me. He also wouldn't allow me to be present when my son was strapped down. I eventually convinced the assistant to let me walk my son to the procedure room to explain what will happen. But I'm gravely upset. They can't move. They can't talk and they are loopy. Who's advocating for them. I dont need to be in the room (even though I want to) I was willing to stay outside but children have rights too. If he wanted me they would ignore him. read more

I do not reccomend this dentist. I switched my kids because it is suppose to be a family friendly dentist, however since covid that has went out the door. They have a sign on the door stating "a parent is allowed back in the operating room" however I have nothing but issues every single time! Today my child was very much advocating she did not want to go back with out me and they said no, no one else is allowed back! My kids have had traumatic things happen at 2 different dentist which is why they no longer will go back alone. Take the sign off the door that states something different then the policy your verbally telling me, because they don't match! Also they are pretty rough with cleanings and the female dentist is pretty judgemental, she likes to add in "baby" and stuff to make her comments seem less judgy, but she's pretty rude. read more

Dr.Justin did fillings on my sister the other day and although they used the numbing needles they didn't work. She cried the whole time, she could feel the entire procedure, the top half of her face was numb but not her mouth, and they did not care. And they wouldn't listen to her trying to tell them. If you want a dentist to work on your kid ask specifically for Dr.Mike, I've had him, and both my siblings have him. He's amazing. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service. I had both of my kids switched to this location from the one at allenmore and I honestly regret that decision. Our first visit went very well and I was pleased with the service we were given by everyone in office especially the dr. After the appointments, I had to schedule both kids to have dental work done but of course it was booked out until January 2022 which was no problem for me so we booked it. The day of my daughters appointment, I realized not one person called to verify the appointment so I called to make sure her appointment was still happening. When I did, I was told they had the wrong number on file and that I had to book another appointment in July since my daughters went unconfirmed due to their mistake. I was upset since her appointment was booked out so far already but okay fine. The lady I spoke to was really nice about it and fixed the info they had in their system then told me that she will give me a call as soon as someone cancels their appointment to try to get my daughter in as soon as possible. Okay, cool. Fast forward to my sons appointment a couple weeks later. Yet again no one called me to confirm his appointment and I was at work until 4:15pm or so. Once I got off I called the office and was told they canceled his appointment for the next day since they never received confirmation. I explained in the nicest way possible that this just happened with my daughters appointment and I thought that problem was fixed and the correct number was on file. The lady I spoke to was extremely rude and just kept saying that the number they called was disconnected as if I didn't understand what she was talking about. Couple days later someone called me back to confirm my daughters appointment even though her appointment isn't until June or July. After dealing with the lady prior, I told whoever I was speaking to that I'll be canceling all appointments. If my kids are going in for a procedure that I'm not able to stay for due to their policies, I should be able to trust the people who are dealing with my children. After that extremely rude woman I spoke to, I absolutely don't trust this office. read more

I used to love this place. We still love Dr. Mike because he's amazing and the dental assistants have all been great but the way scheduling has been the past year is getting ridiculous. My son has shown up for an appointment THEY scheduled and called to confirm just to be turned away because it wasn't 6 months out. They scheduled my other son 5 days apart for the same "cleaning" and I caught it thank goodness so he didn't miss more school then needed and now they randomly change times for appointments the day of ( I recommend keeping all the text they said about the appointment reminders) I'm super disappointment with this office and hope things get back to normal. read more

absolutely horrible. that said, unlike a lot of the reviews I actually had a great experience with all of the front desk staff-they were all very helpful and knowledgeable in their area of expertise and have been very helpful getting all of my records/X-rays transferred to me and my sons new dentist. however be very aware going here. The dentist (Dau) is all about getting money in his pockets at the expense of your child. we did a full exam with xrays and the doctor came in, glanced at the X-rays and my 4 year old sons mouth (maybe 30 seconds total for both) turned to me and said "he has a ton of cavities". I said I know he has two on his canines we were monitoring at our old dentist but what else? he just replied "lots". I asked how many was "lots" and he said "uh Idano maybe 15"....like what? already warning bells are going off as he didn't even have a real number for me? he didn't want to explain the X-rays to me and just huffed when I asked questions, then he then INFORMED me that he needs to have all of his back molars filed down and caped and was very evasive when I asked questions about that. he did tell me it was very expensive and that we would be looking at about $3000 out of pocket-which is very weird for a dentist to say as he shouldn't really know/care about the insurance side of it? After we left I called around and scheduled a second opinion and we also sent the X-rays to an adult dentist friend we have. Both our second opinion and the dentist friend confirmed he only has 4 cavities and they are all very small. They need to be fixed asap before they become worse but it's a very simple cavity fill for all 4. We have him all scheduled with a dentist we feel very comfortable with now and wish we had just made the drive to a better one to start. read more

I am pleased thus far with this location. We were checked in and seen within a reasonable time after our appointment. The staff was all friendly and patient with the children and their parents. I am exceptionally pleased with the communication from the dentist. She was detailed and thorough in explaining her findings as well as execution a clear plan of action. Extremely lucky to have found this dental office! This children's dentistry is perfectly setup for kids. I was concerned about the assistants being able to get good X-rays from a 5 and 7 year old an they got X-rays no problem. There are tvs on the ceiling so kids have a distraction while work is being done on their mouth. My daughter had surgery a couple of weeks ago and she had to be put under. The dentist and the other staff did a wonderful job at making sure we were both comfortable. Very detailed in explaining aftercare and pain remedies. My son is scheduled for surgery on the 11th and I am confident we will be in good hands. read more

Let me just start off by saying the front desk lady / receptionist needs to be fired. My daughter had an appointment on Tuesday so I took the day off ahead of time knowing I had her scheduled. They told me they'd call the day prior for a verbal confirmation. I had my phone with me all day at work and at home and I did not receive any phone call from them. And every time I tried to reach them, it was busy or no one would answer the phone. So the next morning I just decided to go in with my daughter because I already had took the day off. When I spoke to the receptionist, she was being really rude and had an attitude with me. She told me I had to reschedule because I didn't confirm the appointment the day prior. Wow. She needs to be fired or find a new line of work like McDonald's. Do not go here! There is a reason why this place has a 3/5 rating. This place was convenient as it was closer to home but I rather drive further and be treated with better service. I'll be spending my money elsewhere. DO NOT COME HERE! read more

The dentistry work is fine, it's literally the customer service with the front desk gals. We've been going here for the last 3-4 years out of convenience since we are only there 2 times a year and theres always some sort of issue with them. Its usually the delivery of information, they talk to you like you don't know or understand anything, depending on who you get they'll give you attitude. They have no patience at all. We get there's tons of work needing to be done, but they really need to work on how they speak to people. It makes you feel like they're just waiting for any little issue to pop up so they can be rude to you. We'll be switching to another location soon after the last visit for sure since we haven't felt welcome at all but hope they can improve for the sake of their current patients. read more

My grandson went there for dental work under general anesthesia and their front desk dropped the ball after my daughter waited months for him to be seen. He is 2 years old and on seizure medication and the front desk couldn't be bothered to check with his neurologist to get clearance for him to be put to sleep. My daughter took it upon herself to ask for a note not knowing exactly what they would need. The anesthesiologist was very nice and brought it to my daughters attention that the note wasn't exactly what they needed. My daughter decided to wait since he isn't having any emergent issues and would reschedule once they have clearance. The girl at the front desk sat and rolled her eyes, acting very put out the entire time my daughter was talking the the anesthesiologist. Besides that, there was a whole bunch of paperwork with patient info in plain view and anyone could have taken picture of and used, which is a huge HIPAA violation. Having worked in dentistry for over 20 years with 2 of those in a pediatric office that did general anesthesia, I was shocked at how this office handled things. No wonder the state was investigating these guys. My daughter is going to take him elsewhere. If I could give zero stars I would. read more

My daughter has been trying to get a referral sent in for my grandson from this dentist to seattle childrens for over a YEAR and each time she has been told it will be sent in and they NEVER do. They just say sorry they've been busy. My grandson is a 3 year old heart survivor that needs this referral desperately. My children have been seeing Dr. Michael Luong for the past 5 years. Dr. Michael (I call him Dr. Smiles) is a super caring dentist. My kids love going to the dentist, because he is so nice and always makes the kids "Smile" He treats the kiddos with respect and dignity. My son looks forward to his regular check ups. I believe it's the calm yet fun atmosphere Smiles for Kids provide.The staff is amazing as well. We've never had to sit in the waitroom more than just a few minutes. My daughter is about to graduate as a Dental Assistant this month! I have to think that Dr. Smiles and his staff had a lot to do with her choosing A career in Dental. I couldn't be happier with our experience. I took my 1.5 year old and 3 year old here for a checkup and a cleaning. They were so patient with my kids and they were all SO sweet. The hygienist and dr went above and beyond in making all of us feel comfortable and taking their time with my kids. My son was super nervous and didn't want to lay down in the chair so they allowed my husband to sit down and hold my son and they laid him back into the dentists lap. I took my son to a visit this morning in 72nd and I made the appointment weeks in advance. When I spoke to them over the phone they knew that I was not willing to give him my social security number I provided them with eligibility so that there were no issues. I received a call the day before my son's appointment and nothing was mentioned about my social security number but when we arrived at the office this morning they told me that they needed my social security number in order to Bill my insurance and they told me that my insurance told them that they would not be able to bill them without my Social Security number. So I called my insurance company right there in the office where they stated that they could use all zeros or all nines and they would still accept the bill and pay it like my dentist does. However they still refuse to see my son without my social security number. If that was the case they could have told me when I made his appointment or they could have told me when they called the day before. Instead they had us come in abd had me take time off from work to inconvenienced us. read more

My daughter was scheduled for oral surgery today I showed up for her appointment and they've canceled it apparently because I didn't call them the day before to confirm. I explained that if I had wanted to cancel the appointment I would have done so, apparently because other people are flaky and no show they assume all people will. I've been taking my kids to this dentist since they opened this is completely unacceptable treatment for patients who have never once had a no-show! Avoid this place and Dr VanBibber like the plague. They are reusing pieces that are labeled 'disposable' by the manufacturer, because they are never meant to be reused on other patients. They don't even deny it, but insist that they are 'cleaning' them. The manufacturer doesn't feel they can be sufficiently cleaned. All this is being done so they can pocket $5 for each time they reuse one, instead of using one that hasn't already been in who knows how many mouths, and carrying who knows what types of bacteria and viruses.. read more

I'm going to start off by saying that I've never taken my kids (ages 1 and 3) to another pediatric dentist office so I don't have a lot to compare it to. What I can say, however, is that the staff is amazing. I called to set up the appointment and the lady on the phone was very informative, made me feel really welcome. At the office, the wait room is a little small but they provide a few toys here and there for kids to play with and the fish tank on the front desk is pretty neat too. Ladies that checked us in were very nice and friendly, explained everything up front so there were no surprises. Wait time was fairly normal, not too long. The dental assistant was courteous, they understood that my kids were uncomfortable being in the chair so they allowed us to do the entire appointment holding the kids in our lap. Come time to check their mouths, we laid the kids back between the dentist and ourselves which the kids were more comfortable with. The dentists was honest, told us what needed to be done, made recommendations but none of the staff at any point in time made us feel like we were bad parents. One of my biggest fears when going into any office is being made to feel like I am not parenting correctly and they did a good job of recommending without being condescending. I feel that this is a great place to bring your kids and would highly recommend it. read more

I've been waiting for my son to be seen for 45min. Still waiting... The purpose of an appointment is so you're not wasting your day waiting around. If there is an issue with staffing the establishment should be COMMUNICATING that to patients so they have the option to reschedule. Not have their child miss more of their education than needed. I still have not been updated or explained why the wait it this long. My sons appointment was at 9am and it's 945 with out being seen (we checked in 5min before our appointment). I recently took my two children to this location and not only were they treated in an efficient manner and with respect but we(the parents)were also spoken to with respect. Everything regarding the treatment was explained in full to all. This location's staff even works exceptionally well with special needs children, one of my children has special needs. To add to the positive experience they have televisions on the ceiling in the exam rooms and a prize for each child at the end of the visit. I highly recommend this office. Today was my first visit with my son and the visit went well until I was bothered by the fact that the Dentist Mike and the teen girl in the front rubbed each other's face with endearment, a little awkward! When you leave your visit if your child did well they get a lucky quarter to buy a toy and my son bought a ball. As I waited for my ride I asked the nice African American lady if there was water available and she politely excused herself from the conversation with another mother in the waiting room and brung me a cup. She also gave my son another lucky coin so we went to the machine and he was bouncing the ball and it rolled into this hallway where I then seen the same teen girl in the office sitting on the dentist lap. I enjoyed the first part of my visit but not the end. I think that behavior was very unprofessional especially when you work with children. read more

I made an appointment for my son in February. I didn't want him to miss a day of school so I scheduled it for a late start (11:00) day. So his appointment was set for March 11 @ 9:30am. Leading up to the date of appointment, I kept getting messages telling me to confirm my appointment for 03/11/2020@9:30. I did. I also got a call from them the day before appointment telling me to check in at 9:15 for my 9:30. Guess what, got there at 9:20 to check in, they told me my appointment was not till 11:00. I showed them emails and text messages, they told me they can't control that because it's a 3rd party system that they use. So to make it up to me, they move it to 10:30. I does me no good. If I was ok with my son missing school, I could make it for any random day instead of waiting for over a month to get a date that was suitable. Very rude staffs. Unapologetic, acting as if I should just be grateful that They were able to fit me in @10:30, and that I should just be ok with their mistake. read more

We love Dr.Mike!!! My daughter has gone to him on 3 separate occasions in the last year to have teeth pulled because her baby teeth will not naturally fall out and he is always so amazing and funny with her even though she is freaking out. The staff there is awesome, we love this place! read more
