Most of my dentists growing up had that "I've been fixing teeth since floss was invented" level of experience. So when I first met Dr. Manny I thought... wow... what a young grasshopper. As the old saying goes, "Never judge a book by it's cover." Dr. Manny is a Tucson native who trained under one of the best dentists in town, Dr. Brei. Clearly he soaked up every ounce of wisdom during that apprenticeship, added prestigious dental school, constant continuing education, and then had the audacity to go start his own practice... and absolutely nail it. Do not confuse his confidence with cockiness. The man simply knows what he's doing. And he proves it every time. A few things that stood out immediately: * I have never felt pain during the numbing process. If you've had dental work before, you know that alone deserves recognition. * After every procedure, everything healed exactly how it was explained and expected. No surprises, no drama. Just solid work done right. Also, never once have I felt judged. And trust me... if there was ever a patient worth judging, I've given them plenty of material over the years. The hygienists are equally amazing. Not once during a cleaning has anyone casually mentioned my coffee or Diet Coke habits like some kind of dental detective. Instead, they just calmly explain how to do things better and somehow make you actually want to floss more. And now, I floss 3X a day. Dr. Manny's right-hand woman is basically the Chief of Everything, and an absolute gem. She keeps the entire operation running smoother than most Fortune 500 companies. And the front office staff? Picture Jennifer Lopez in The Wedding Planner with earpieces, orchestrating a flawless event... except the event is you and your teeth. Phones ringing, patients arriving, schedules moving, and somehow everyone is calm, happy, and taken care of. Honestly it's impressive. So if you're shopping for a dentist and you're still reading this review... why? Go make the appointment. Get your teeth cleaned. Get whatever needs fixing fixed. I'm genuinely glad I finally stopped neglecting my dental issues, got on a treatment plan, committed to it, and the execution? Dr. Manny and his team delivered flawless results. 100/10. They push expensive treatment, present and have you sign an "in house" treatment plan (subject to change when insurance payment is made) and then grossy overcharge for services rendered. When called on it, they try to gaslight you about the situation. It's too bad, the practice was sold to this bunch. The last Doc and his staff were a great group , nothing like these people. Dr. Hicks came highly recommended from everything I read on the internet. Luckily I was not in any hurry for a new patient appointment (just due for a cleaning and did not have any issues to report) because it took several months to get me in. If I had a more urgent issue they may have taken additional steps to get me in sooner--not sure, as that wasn't the case for me. My appointment started promptly. The hygienist assigned to me was kind and did a great job taking x-rays and cleaning my teeth. Dr. Hicks was friendly and professional. I have had some dentists that try to sell me nonsense cosmetic crap for my teeth, and was glad that Dr. Hicks and her team did no such thing. Everyone in the office was upbeat and friendly: you can tell the staff is treated well, because the morale is high. I would recommend Dr. Hicks to anyone looking for a new dentist.

Having had extensive procedures in several other parts of the country (including several crowns and an implant that were well done by my previous provider, in San Diego), I was unsure I'd find an office in Tucson that could match the level of expertise I've had elsewhere. Dr. Mitchell made that simple -- he not only has excellent depth in general and aesthetic dentistry but is also just an incredibly nice person. I'm someone who experiences major anxiety in the chair, and I've found Dr. Mitchell's easygoing demeanor a huge relief. I also appreciate that the hygienist is extremely respectful and patient-focused. For instance, I'd had my last bitewings eleven months before, and before my arrival, she had noticed that and double-checked with my insurance to ensure I was eligible, but more important, she also asked me if I would prefer to have them a little early or wait until my next visit. It's completely refreshing to have the staff ask what the patient wants, instead of trying to push services or products. Another major advantage is the office itself -- located on Grant Road (north lane, next door to Black Rock Coffee, just across the street from the Mercedes Benz dealer and slightly west of the post office), the building has ample covered parking, and the interior capitalizes perfectly on stunning views of the Catalinas, with several exam chairs facing straight out to the gorgeous scenery...just another way to feel relaxed and happy in a place dedicated to making you flash your best smile!

I saw Dr. Daggett on Wed, 30 April for a tooth cleaning…read more Unfortunately an upper filling popped out when the tech was flossing my teeth. He promptly had Dr. Daggett come in. Dr. Daggett then very expertly repaired my tooth, after finding the tooth was in good shape, by diligently working on the tooth and the filling and replaced it, saving my tooth. I moved to Tucson 10 years ago but for many years I kept traveling to see my great dentist and doctors in LA. As I love Tucson so much it became harder and harder for me to leave Tucson even for a day. I love it here. So my wife found a local dentist Doctor Jonathan Icely online through Yelp. Nothing against Yelp but I would have preferred a referral from someone I personally trusted. I had no luck asking the few people I know here. To be frank about my feelings, from my first visit with Dr. Icely, I was not impressed or comfortable with him. Or for that matter comfortable with most of his staff. The office felt sad. To me, Dr. Icely felt unimpressive in every way and nothing I noticed about him seemed to reflect talent, thoughtfulness, passion or competence. In my opinion he was not on par with any of the many great dentist I have been lucky to be seen by in my life. In spite of my negative gut feeling about Dr. Icely I returned again to this office. Again leaving with the same bad feeling. After a few visits I listened to my screaming gut, never returned again and looked for someone better. Thankfully I found someone great As a point of interest, my very strong negative feelings and opinions of Dr. Icely were much further reinforced during my first visit to my new great dentist. The contrast of talent thoroughness and mood was staggering compared to Dr. Icely's sad dark office packed with an overfed unhappy female staff. "hygienist" Nicole, to me, in my opinion reflected the worst of today's employed American women. My opinion is Doctor Icely is a sub par, odd, uncomfortable and well below average dentist. His office depressing. I felt uncomfortable with his unfriendly untalented staff. I felt strong I must leave Doctor Icely's care simply to save my teeth, save my peace of mind and love life again.
