I'm writing this because this is the third time the front office has made mistakes with my information. They keep mixing me up with other patients, giving me wrong details over the phone, and then telling me something completely different when I show up. Today they turned me away saying my insurance wasn't active. I had to leave work early for this. My wife later checked, and they admitted they confused me with someone else. This isn't the first time. Another time they told me my insurance wouldn't cover my dental work because I hit a limit. Then they called me again saying everything was fine and to come in. When I got there, they told me the opposite. I've wasted my time multiple times because of their errors. I work long hours and have to leave early since they close at five, so this has been frustrating and inconvenient. I'm not even going to get into the dental work too much, but the quality hasn't been great either. If they're billing my insurance, the least they can do is use materials that don't fall apart in a couple months. The front office really needs people who know what they're doing. Overall, the customer service and communication at this office have been terrible. I won't be coming back. read more

I used to be nervous coming to the dentist but since I can come here like I said I like coming here because Dr Ashley and her staff are very polite they're sweet and they're very professional and courteous and the office is very clean very positive atmosphere you don't leave with a bad mood or anything because they're polite here well some people but other than that it's a nice office I recommend to friends and family! Smile Center - The front office - General Dentistry Near Me - Long Beach, California

Here is my horrible experience with both staff and dentist My crown came unglued from a job I had done through a different dentist Called and made an appointment with this dentist. Got to my appointment 15 mins early to fill out paperwork due to being my very first time there I didn't get called in until 45 mins later . And only because I spoke up. According to the front desk they were not gonna go through my insurance because it was a job that they didn't originally do . I am to thsmis day skeptical about this but nevertheless I needed my front cap glued on and so I paid 120 cash out of pocket to glue a cap back on. I am not a dentist but I do work with contact cement and I know that with all glue the surface must be clean prior to glueing . The dentist never bothered to clean the crown or the stem of my tooth. 3 weeks later it fell off Called again made an appointment This time the front desk asked my my insurance . I said no thank you . This was a job I paid out of my own pocket . So she had the audacity to tell me I was subject to pay the visit fee ... That's when I blew my cap I told her I'm here taking time off work , to come to your broken down hole in the wall just so that you guys stand behind your work and get the simple art of glueing a crown correctly. At this point a different staff member who looks like she belongs behind a TJ bar serving drinks, jumps in and in a hostile tone said to me that I had no choice but to pay for the dentist visit regardless of the circumstances. At this point I realized the lack of common sense and incompetent this place has behind the counter. I told her I wasn't gonna pay and also told her the dentist is gonna gluey tooth back today. I asked to speak to her supervisor, she said in so many mumbling words ,that she was the supervisor, so I ask for her superior she said not here today , I said let me speak to the dentist and see how she feels about this clown show your running ... At the end the dentist only used over the counter dentistry temp glue and said she could not glue my cap permanently because it did not fit .. keep in mind this is the same crown I had for years. , she insisted on getting it redone and after feeding me her bullshit*t lies I said just hurry up and glue it so I can get back to work .. this female asian/ Filipino dentist has an attitude .. honestly I wouldn't recommend this. Place to anyone .. btw in the end the cap fell off again two weeks later. Horrible experience here! The "lady in charge" who was at the front desk today (VALENTINES DAY), gave me horrible CUSTOMER SERVICE. Not even held responsible for her words, actions, or energy that she gave out to me. She did not take accountability for herself. I was ON TIME & EARLY (30 mins) to my 1st ever dentist appointment with them, after going through my verification check! I was RUSHED, GAVE ANXIETY, & WAS SPOKEN TO without excelled customer service! I complained to HER FACE, & she deflected from the complaint and did not want to take responsibility for herself. CUSTOMER'S HERE are mistreated! I then told her I'll complain to my medical, and I'll write a review of my experience! She said "ok go ahead" she also said some other MEAN things while on the clock! This place is all about taking your money! Not about your experience! They will receive my medical complaint in the mail and further action will have to be taken. I told a customer walking in what happened! Do not go here! Bad energy! Do not trust VANESSA either! She will be nice to you over the phone but when I called to complain, she listened then handed the phone to the "Lady in charge" and the lady was once again, mean over the phone tryin to dominate! Instead should be showing how sorry they are for their adult behavior on VALENTINES DAY! She asked if I wanted to cancel my appointment, why when I'm 30 mins early! Smh! I am very happy with experience at Smile Center. I went in because My tooth was hurting. Dr. Nikjoo did an amazing job because to be honest I am scared of going to the dentist. It ended up being a cavity that he filled and he did a great job at calming me down before he started. Definitely coming back! I am happy I found my new dentist. read more

Been here a few times, honestly if you can go somewhere else, go. I continued to have work done here because it was close by and my insurance covered me but after the last visit, I had, the entire establishment feels a little questionable. I had a deep cleaning done and the PA advised one of the assistants to conduct a polish on my teeth, with all respect this guy was either high, drunk, or hungover; he could not get the polishing machine to work and he switched it out three times or so he said. He struggles and tells me "hey man I'm sorry I can't get the machine to work their "codos" here"(codos means cheap). I just cut my losses and left, I don't know if my 375$ copay covers the polish but it really was not worth the effort. This type of stuff should not happen in a professional establishment. read more

Background: I went to Smile Center Long Beach located on 5399 Orange Ave because I was having severe pain in my left anterior tooth. I had chipped my tooth a few months back, but never repaired it. Consequently, this caused my tooth to deteriorate away and a hole formed. The hole in my tooth caused excruciating pain. 9/4/2019 - I called Smile Center and was able to schedule an appointment with Maria for 9/5/2019 at 3:00pm. 9/5/2019 - I arrived at my appointment and had an exam completed. Dr. Flores informed me that I had an infection in my tooth, and I would need a root canal and a crown lengthening. Dr. Flores informed me that the crown wouldn't fit on my tooth because so much tooth was lost. At the time, I was having issues with Denti-cal so they couldn't give me an approximate cost for the repair of my tooth. Dr. Flores wrote me a prescription for Amoxicillin and Tylenol 350 mg (I think). I took the medicine as prescribed, however, I wasn't getting any better. 9/10/2019 - I called Smile Center Long Beach because I was in excruciating pain to where I couldn't sleep at night. I was advised by the front office clerk to come in and see Dr. Flores. I came in and Dr. Flores prescribed me Cephalin and Tylenol with codeine (because I am allergic to certain NSAIDS). Dr. Flores advised me to call her back on the next day to inform her about how I was feeling. Dr. Flores informed me that if I wasn't feeling better or it was getting worse then they can do an opened med (dental terminology). 9/11/2019 - I called Dr. Flores and informed her that it is somewhat getting better, but I was still in pain. We agreed to monitor the pain and if needed will do the opened med. 9/16/2019 - I called Smile Center Long Beach and spoke with Maria. I informed Maria that my Dental - Cal is okay now and I can schedule the appointment for the dental work. I asked Maria how much would my out of pocket cost be in conjunction with my dental insurance. Maria wouldn't give me an estimate. Maria informed me that they have different financing options and asked if needed would I be interested in seeing if I am approved. I informed Maria that I would like to see if I am approved, but I didn't want to sign up for any form of credit. I made this clear to Maria that I DON'T want to sign up for credit. Maria informed me that she wouldn't sign me up unless I was present and signed off on it. Maria informed me that I was eligible for $1,500.00. I again informed Maria due to my financial situation that I won't be able to finance. I asked if I could schedule the appointment for the tooth repair and see what my dental insurance covers. Maria agreed and scheduled me for 9/17/2019 at 3:00pm. 9/17/2019 - I received a call from Maria asking if I could come in earlier. I asked what time and Maria informed me that they had an appointment at 2:00pm. I left work EARLY and showed up to my appointment. When I arrived Dr. Flores stated that Maria tried to call me. Dr. Flores stated that Maria tried to call me because their compressor went out and she couldn't drill. I checked my voicemails and found 1 that was left by Smile Center. There was nothing stated on the voicemail, all you could hear is someone hanging up (I have the saved voicemail). Dr. Flores informed me that I can try contacting their sister location to see if they could see me. Dr. Flores gave me a referral. Maria was on her break and came back in the office. At that time, I again asked Maria what my insurance would cover. Maria didn't give me a definitive answer. At this point I was upset because I wasted time and money coming to a dental appointment only to be told that they must reschedule me. I sought out another dental office for assistance because what transpired with the possible fraud activity and because I was in so much pain. 9/21/2019 - I receive a notification from Credit Karma informing me that a new account was added to my credit. I was baffled because I haven't signed any documents. I haven't opened any accounts. I checked to see what the new account was, and it showed up as care credit. I NEVER signed any documentation; I have no information on the interest rate or anything. I immediately went to Smile Care Long Beach to discuss the situation with an office manager, but they were closed at 2:00 pm today. I will follow up on Monday morning. The dentist is great! Dr. Flores is awesome, but the staff is conducting deceitful practices. I believe that Maria knew what the coverage would be but wanted me to finance so they could get paid right away. I am very disheartened by this situation. This not only affected my credit, but I was affected me emotionally. I don't recommend this office. If you made it this far, you're the true M.V.P. Everyone in the office is really nice and professional. They explained everything and gave me all the options. I needed a bridge to replace a missing tooth over 35 years . They explained the implant treatment and gave the information I needed to make a decision. They gave me payment options with different alternatives. Most important they respected my decision on going with the bridge without any question's . I very happy with the replacement of a missing space for more then 35 years with my bridge . This office is beyond amazing!!! Dr. Nik is seriously the best dentist I have ever been to and I will follow him where ever he goes. His office staff is amazing, they don't make you feel embarrassed of what needs to be done or how long its been since you last saw the dentist. I am terrified of the dentist and Dr. Nik has helped me overcome that fear with his efficiency and speed getting the work done. Even during COVID, I feel safe and protected. The office is clean and takes all the precautions to keep us all safe. All the back office girls are so kind and sweet, I can honestly say I don't have one bad thing to say.
