B/c I am a total dental chicken I always start with those who provide sedation (not just laughing gas and pills). This office had good reviews and when I told them I had a toothache they got me in very quickly. As always I had difficulty getting xrays done b/c of my anxiety and was basically crying (embarassing). The hygienist Carol was so, so sweet and patient and we finally did xrays via digital xrays and then a 3D option as well. I met w/ the dentist Dr. Keith who was also really kind, patient and thoroughly explained everything to me. I'll be going back to get multiple issues fixed but feel relieved and happy to be in what seems to be good hands.

Looking for a more than qualified oral surgeon led me to Dr. Marxen. I met with his staff, went over the procedure, and also voiced my concerns about too much anesthesia, and made my sensitivity to it very clear. The day of my procedure was easy. I was in and out in two hours as I followed their instructions. Post recovery I was not overly woozy and had no ill effects from the drugs. While I had post opp pain from impacted teeth removal, within two days I was back to a normal routine. And all I had to take was Tylenol and ibuprofen! The only painful thing really was listening to the nursing staff talk about lunch before my procedure (as I couldn't eat and was really hungry). If you want someone who's not going to have you living a nightmare for a month after removing teeth, I highly recommend this group.

Dr. Kirkland is my primary dentist, though I have also been treated by Dr. Bennet, who is excellent as well. Colleen does a wonderful job with cleanings and routine care. She is thorough, gentle, and always attentive. Jenna runs the office with real professionalism and efficiency, especially when it comes to billing and scheduling, so there are never surprises. Dr. Kirkland is outstanding. She is meticulous, highly skilled, and clearly takes pride in doing things the right way the first time. Danniél is excellent as well, and her clinical support during procedures adds to the calm, efficient, and high-quality care the practice provides. Dr. Kirkland checks everything carefully after each cleaning, thoughtfully documents and monitors areas of concern, and addresses them when they truly need attention. She takes a conservative, measured approach that never feels like over-treatment or unnecessary dental work. What has continued to stand out over the years is how well the entire office works together. There is not a weak link in the chain. Everyone plays a part in making the practice run as smoothly and professionally as it does, and that consistency is exactly why I have kept coming back. I recommend Northshore Dental very highly.

I'm also extremely fortunate to have Colleen as my hygienist, and she has a very gentle touch, especially when measuring my gum depths. (I've had hygienists many years ago that were pugilists') I was tuffer back then. LOL Also, Dr Kirkland is a very friendly and talented dentist for filling replacements, new/replaced crowns, and referrals to good specialists when needed. You don't send forms to be completed before the visit and then accost the patient for completing them. And you don't lie within 10 minutes of meeting someone and expect them to stay. I showed up on time. I filled out all the forms and talked with the tech/doctor. Margie comes over and says, "You're early." "Uh, I'm here on time." "Well, we didn't expect you to have the forms filled out. So right now, you need to stay here and relax." She pulled my tech away, who then sheepishly came back. "Did Margie say I was early?" "Well, you're not early, but..." "Is there a patient ahead of me?" "Um. Yes." "So you overbooked?" "Well, your paperwork wasn't supposed to be done, and..." She said it would be 20 minutes, but the patient ahead of me hadn't even been seated. I left. If your practice is comfortable lying within 10 minutes of meeting me while shifting the blame for overbooking, there is no way you're touching me. She has thoughts about when appointments start and how career longevity stacks up against unprofessional conduct: Sarah I have read your email and I'm sorry about the confusion. The office always schedules the new patient to check in upfront 1/2 hour with front office staff . Your check in time was 11 am at 11:30 one of the assistants should bring you back in the clinical area to start Your exam, x rays, photo's. checking teeth and gum assessment. Yes ,you were in on time for your check in at 11 am and you were very efficient with your paperwork done. We brought you back before 11:30 which is why I mention that we would be a little longer before we could Start the exam process. I'm sorry if this wasn't conveyed to you on the initial phone conversation about check in Time and when we actually bring you back. We would never over book a patients appointment . We really want to be able to give you and all our patients equality time and earn the patients trust. If you felt that you were "accosted" regarding filling out your paperwork I would like to know what happen so I can address the employee. We always want to treat people with respect . As too the medical trauma that you were mentioning it is of great importants that we take into consideration with the patients medical history before we ever proceed with any treatment on a patient. Lastly I would like to address the "lying within 10 minutes of minutes of meeting me" comment. I believe there was a miscommunication. WE are here to help patients to improve there equality of health which we take very serious. We are and have always been very transparent with all patients and will continue to be so. I am very sorry that your appointment was not the best experience and that you were not able to stay for your appointment today. I understand your prospective why you decided that you need to leave and not continue your appointment from reading your email.
