Rating: 7/10 Date Visited: 1/16/2026 I ordered the Classic Smashed Double ($12). The burger flavor itself was great as the patty went well with the onions, pickles, and smashed sauce. The bun was great too. My only complaints are that it is a bit pricer compared to other places and the bun was too small for the patty, so not every bight was even. I like that their menu includes different variations of their smashburger. Overall, I would recommend this place if you're in the area and want a good smashburger. read more

Would return! Delicious burgers. I got the Big Schmacc which is their version of a McDonald's Big Mac. Love the sesame bun. The meat is kinda shaved like lamb shawarma which I loved. All hot. The fries are nice and crispy and hot. No complaints about the meal honestly! They have so many burger options so it's really revisit-able to try something new read more

Smashed's A-frame sign on the sidewalk out front proudly displays their New Yorker review proclaiming them "the best burger to try right now." Although the overall experience leaves a little to be desired, the burger itself is as advertised. Their creative menu -- and the endearing framed photos of each burger that line the wall -- made ordering a tough decision. I got the Big Schmacc and the herb fries. The burger, simply put, was outstanding. Not only did it have brilliant flavor, great sauce, and all the right fixins, but the rims of the patties were razor thin and super crispy, indicative of a smashburger done absolutely right. The fries were nothing special; pretty standard as far as smashburger joints go, and the herb seasoning wasn't all that noticeable. The interior also is run-of-the-mill; lots of burger joints have some sort of unique, quirky quality to them, but Smashed had the same feel as many other fast-casual places across America. The pricing was somewhat of a disappointment. If you're getting anything other than a classic smashburger, it will likely be in the $15-$20 range, fries not included. That felt a bit arrogant, given that plenty of other noteworthy smashburger spots stay true to their cheap roots. Money notwithstanding, though, Smashed is an excellent burger. read more

I tried the bacon smash burger with truffle fries and it was okay. The burger itself was decent, it didn't stand out, the fries just had a little truffle sprinkled on top the fries at the middle and bottom were tasteless. Overall pretty basic and lacked any real wow factor. Given the price, I expected more. the service was good, and the place wasn't crowded, not a long wait for food. I'm there are better burger options out there read more

Delicious burger. Next time, I'll get regular fries over the herb fries since there's a big price difference between the two just for some herb seasoning sprinkled on top. The art on the wall of the burgers on the menu was unique. read more

This burger was sooooo good. The seasoning was perfect. I had a vegan burger with a vegan cheese. The bun was soft and tasty. All the fixings, pickles and a yummy sauce were flavorful. The burger being smashed and I think cooked on a griddle, makes it crispy which is amazing. Also, the people that work there were so so kind. Really sweet and accommodating. Love this place! read more

Smashed wasn't exactly what I was expecting. My partner and I ordered two double smash burgers (one vegan), truffle fries, and a shake. The order itself took quite a while, roughly 15 mins, and the shake was another 5-10. My partner did like their double smash, but I'm not sure impossible "meat" smashed is the same. My burger patties were ok, and the sauce was a little too mustard for my taste. The fries were ok...wouldn't order again The Oreo shake was delicious and smooth and probably the only thing I would go back for. The inside of the restaurant is fine, white and bright with a bathroom for customers. read more

Smashed does smashed burgers right. Casual dining, not a huge place but definitely worth trying if you're a fan of smash burgers. You see them using fresh beef and smashing it when they're making your burger. The patties are smashed super thin where you taste a crisp from the char. We got the double classic smash and big schmac. If you're looking for a classic smash burger I would probably recommend doing a double because the patties are pretty thin and you might not taste the patty much with a single. We really enjoyed both burgers, the big schmac tastes legit like a high quality Big Mac. Quality smashed burgers, we were thoroughly impressed and really enjoyed our meals. We came on a Saturday afternoon and the place was fairly empty, clean for a fast casual spot. read more

My absolute favorite smashed burger in New York. If I want a big, fancy burger I pick Balthazar; for a big, less-fancy but still very delicious and more chill burger, I pick Peter Manus but for smashburgers this is the spot. Plus the people at the counter are always really nice. read more

Walking into this burger joint smells like you've just walked underneath someone's armpit. I'm not sure why that is. Surely fried onions should smell great. The menu reads really well. You kinda want to order everything. I wanted to start slow so I started with their classic smashed burger. A single for $8. Service is pretty fast. The staff are very nice. But their classic smashed just doesn't live up to 7thStreet Burger. I feel the meat is done too well so it's not adding any juicy flavors. The extras like onions and cheese are weirdly tasteless. I dunno. This burger just didn't do it for me. It's not there. read more

Smashed - Maybe the bun is too sweet n soft ? Is the meat too well-done ? I don't know why this burger just didn't perform well in my book. - Burgers Near Me - New York, New York

Great customer service and vegan options!!! Shout out to Brain! Woot woot! If you're lactose intolerant, I recommend asking for a chicken sandwich with vegan cheese! And the sweet potato fries were the best I've ever had! read more

I didn't have negative experiences here at Smashed. Open late, very clean, Inc bathroom. :) there were enough space to sit down and hang out with friends. Music was on. A cashier was helpful. I had a regular beef hot dog. I was thinking of Five guys or here. I think here is more better quality than Five guys. A store is small so you might miss it. Make sure on Hudson st/ very close to W10th st. Try to stop by for snacks. read more

This place has the BEST smash burger! I'd put this one as #1!! The only problem that I hope can be fixed is the fries. They're really good but it's annoying that I coincidentally keep getting the bottom of the barrel or something? There will be a few normal fries and the rest (majority like 80%) are fries about an inch long. I've had a good batch a couple times before, so that's how I know that they aren't supposed to be crumbs. It's happened to me so much that somebody else MUST know what I'm talking about, especially whoever is putting the fries in the cup! I'm just confused how this is happening so many times lol read more

Had the smashed dog (basically a regular hot dog) was super underwhelming! I love hot dogs and this one tastet like the sausage been lying in water all day and then was just slapped on the bun :( Not going again read more

I visited this spot after seeing it on Instagram. The restaurant was roomy, and the service/ordering was a breeze, whether dining in or taking out. The ambience was decent, albeit lacking a warm welcome. Now, regarding the food--the burger was moist and tender but lacked the promised blue cheese, making it bland; maybe if there seasoned the meat it would have tasted differently. Personally, I prefer Shake Shack; it's more affordable and packs more flavor. read more

My expectations were not terribly high because I generally like a big juicy pub burger (cooked medium rare), but zowie, the (single) smashed burger I ordered was incredibly juicy and delicious. A little messy (I can't imagine what a double would be like...) and excellent. I am sold! read more

I dream about this burger sometimes. Best food I had in NYC. Would recommend to anyone in the area!

Ordered pickup twice now. Each time they couldn't be happier to help me. They almost hugged me the first time they were so happy and welcoming. Great stuff. Took burgers / fries down the street to my home, they were the most delicious burgers / fries i have had in a while. Much better than shake shack. Real fries. Everyone thinks they are a professional food critic these days and some people just aren't friendly themselves. Don't believe any negative reviews. This place rocks. read more

We came 30 min to get here to try the burger. They close at 10. We got here at 945. They wouldn't let us in and said they're closed already. this the best place in the world come here and get right late night , good chicken food burgers good food

I was so excited to have them in the neighborhood but it's a total bust. I've tried it three different times now and every time I leave saying I wish I just went to Shake Shack. The service is super awful. The staff looks at you like you're bothering them every time someone walks in the door. The ambiance is even worse! They don't play any music so it's dead silent which just feels so uninviting and sterile. The lighting is that bright fluorescent color that feels like a hospital and makes everybody look dead. The worst part... they actually charge you for ketchup!! read more

best smash I've had and that's saying something. owner was there shows the care that went into this place! go now!

Dont let the photo fool you. Under the layer of meat is sauce/cheese/lettuce & other goodness. I would also come here just for the smashed potatoes! The burger was solid and for my third visit here, each trying different items, i would have to to say this: The service is pretty bad. Each time was a new person working and they seemed to forget something in my order. But that is easily fixed with good training and a more enthusiastic staff. But that aside the food is quality. Especially if you want an easy lunch or some drunk food after the bar. 10x better then the last place in this location read more

I was on my home and was so happy to see Smashed in a West side location. This is because I was already a fan of their burgers from the Lower East Side. Their smashed burgers are amazing and my wife is a big fan of their vegan burgers. WE RECOMMEND the double patty. The sides are tasty especially the smashed potatoes. Mouth watering goodness found here. Highly recommend! Get there before it's super popular and the lines are too long! read more

Came here because i've heard a lot about the location on the east side and saw there was only 1 bad 1 star review, didn't have high expectations. After eating the food, I must say I was indeed surprised. The meat was well seasoned and crispy, the fries were a perfect crisp and fluffy inside. The person taking orders and ringing us up was such a delight and thoughtful. I recommend getting their smashed potatoes and a double smash burger ! read more

First thing that stood out when we walked in was no music. Considering what a small space this location has all you could hear was the light sizzling of the burgers in the background. Everybody in the place had AirPods in and it was eerily reminiscent of a scene out of a dystopian future. Tried to order a milk shake while looking at milkshake blender that had clearly just been used only to be told no milkshakes (broken English). My friend felt so uncomfortable he was pretty much having a conniption fit and insisted on waiting outside. I obliged. After popping into the dystopian burger wonderland a couple times hoping my burger was ready, the time finally came for the big reveal. They packaged my burger to go even though I had asked to eat in. I noticed in the photos online the super exaggerated crispy edges of the smash burger. This was what intrigued me most and I really wanted to try it. What a disappointment!!! Those edges are so over cooked you could literally sprinkle them into a powder. Little ultra dry over well done crumbs of beef fly around every time you take a bite, and those outer areas are hard to work through to get to the edible middle area. The middle is more like a traditional smash burger, it's good but not great. Didn't finish the burger. Love that they have Mexican coke. 0 stars for the unenthusiastic girl at the counter. 2 stars on the burger at best, cool idea but definitely not pleasant to eat unless you want something that makes me think of a combo of smashed refried beans and taco meat burnt to an inedible crisp in 1984 by George Orwell. read more
