I chose the Brooklyn dipping sauce and the Chipotle Aioli.. unfortunately they were out of some more unique options at the time otherwise I'd have gone for those. Pretty good little fried food spot in a tiny food court on Pearl Street in Manhattan. The service was the same you would receive at most fast food places, decent. The food is good, but it was heavy. I felt slow and lazy afterwards and that's typically from overly greasy food. I might just grab nuggets and fries next trip instead of nuggets fries and a chicken sandwich. The signature burger is outstanding. Flavors from Korean hot pepper paste and onions cooked in miso all come through wonderfully. The bun was moist and held up well with the sauce,onions, and meat. The lunch special ( till 3pm) which comes w choice of burger or chicken sandwich, tater tots or fries, two dipping sauces and a drink $20 is a great deal for pretty much anywhere these days. If you want to make a quick stop in downtown Manhattan, STOP HERE FOR A BURGER! They have a lunch special from 11-3pm where you get a burger, side, 2 sauces and a drink for $20 which is a great deal. The staff is welcoming and friendly. You can see everything is made to order and very fresh. This is probably one of the best burgers i've had. I would even go as far as saying this might be top 20 best first BITES i have ever taken. The atmosphere is in Urban Space, so its pretty relaxed and quiet. You also get to pick two sauces for your waffle fries and a drink (I got water but there is soda as well). The sauces I picked were chipotle aioli and honey mustard. The cajun waffle fries were so good!!! I recommend coming at 11am (when it opens) so there is less people. One of the saltiest burgers ever! Hello, I was looking for an unhealthy meal to fill up my immersed hunger during a long big lunch and I thought Extra sauce may fit my needs. Smash burgers & fires sounded like a plan! However, this show didn't end well as I expected. First, the burger was too plain, just burger, meat, and cheese. I may be wrong if this is a typical smash burger anyway I can take it unless it's way too salty. The fries were very tasty and super juicy. it's like the deep fry oil didn't hot enough to cook, so the fries were soaked with oil. I couldn't even finish it which was very unlike me. Ok so I stumbled onto urban space down on Pearl street. To my surprise I see Extra Sauce smash burger spot. I've been wanting to try this burger for a while. I see there's a lunch special which is really good for the price. I order a double with Parmesan cheese cooked onto the bottom bun and tater tots. The wait wasn't long at all and I like the fact you can bag up your own food. So I start with the tots and dipped them in their Gochujang aioli sauce and omg I couldn't believe how good it was. The sauce amazing but the tots was definitely on a different level and I like that they was shaped differently than your everyday tater tots. Now I take a bite out of this burger and I'm blown away. Omg this burger is seasoned very well and the cheese factor is what I love. Everything just goes well with this burger and the Parmesan cheese on the bottom bun gives you a nice cheese pull too. Easily the best smash burger for me. I definitely can't wait to go back! Also, I like the fact that they will put like one waffle fry in your tots or one tot in your waffle fries. Had lunch at Extra Sauce on Wednesday afternoon. A bit pricey, but each extra element was worth the cost. Definitely don't skimp on the sauces, as the name suggests. Quality: Extra Sauce focuses on Smash Burgers and Fried Chicken Sandwiches. I went for lunch and selected the Classic Smash Burger, which comes with American cheese, diced onions, pickles, and Brooklyn sauce. While I always prefer a thicker patty, I was still quite happy with how it was served. I wanted the tots as a side, but they had run out so I ended up with the Waffle Fries. It was a blessing in disguise because they were fantastic, and I love the different sauces you can order for them. Both the chipotle aioli and nacho cheese sauce were great for dips of both burger and fries. Quantity: Decent sized burger and a fair amount of fries. Value: $20 for the Lunch Special. Ambiance: Extra Sauce is part of the Urbanspace Food Hall in FiDi. With the bright pink neon sign, even behind a large pole they stand out. One of the smaller stands, but they are in a good location with a long bench parallel, perfect for customers waiting for their meal. No specific dining area, but plenty of tables across the common space. Crowd: One of the busiest spots during lunch hours, but it slows down considerably close to 2pm. Im posting this review because I was planning to have them for lunch today, but my office bought pizza for everyone... Now I'm craving this while eating free food. Im having flashbacks of their Brooklyn sauce I had gotten another classic burger with waffle fries about a week ago. They had passed me a few of the sauces to try after they had recognized me as a regular. One of my favorites was the the gochujang aioili. As a Korean man, I can confidently say they did some magic with this one. Goes great with the fries and to dip the occasional bite. My other favorite was the Brooklyn sauce. It's like you took Big Mac sauce from McDonald's, but like imagine you haven't eaten for a whole year and the first thing you get to taste was Big Mac Sauce and it tastes like the best damn sauce you done ever tasted; that's this sauce. If you imagined what would be on Jesus's Big Mac if he would ever have one, it would be this sauce. Honestly, I now realize after proof-reading this review, that comparing their Brooklyn sauce to Big Mac sauce is a complete inaccuracy. This stuff blows theirs out the water and I really can't recommend it enough. The chipotle aioli; not gonna lie, it's what I expect of a chipotle aioli. It's a good sauce, but in my opinion, their other sauces are a lot better. Cheese sauce; can't ever go wrong with some cheese. The truffle aioili; I'm not the biggest fan of truffle flavored things, so my judgment of the matter ain't really relevant. If you're a fan of a variety of sauces with your burger and fries, come check these guys out. Solid place that's definitely become an enjoyable part of my weekly lunch diet! read more
