The burger alone earned the 5 stars. There's a specific quality that I'm looking for in a burger that a lot of places that serve burgers miss. Knowing this is a smashed patty alone I would hold it another category meaning it should have a specific expectation. This exceeded that. For example, a lot of places do smash burgers and meat falls apart because of the process. This particular spot flatten it to where the edges were mad crispy and stayed together. It's a quality that takes a burger from being good to great and at the price they serve at you aren't beating this anywhere else. Almost forgot. The smash fries were okay. I wouldn't buy again preferred the normal fries and they had normal fries expectation/taste. Nothing to take home BUT I appreciate them being FRESH. This was my first time eating at smash burger. I came in to order take out. The man at the counter was very nice at explaining things to me like what comes with their orders and ingredients in their special sauce. He was patient with my indecisiveness. I also appreciated they were able to pack all my condiments on the side so my burger didn't get soggy on the way home. I got a double patty Spicy Jalapeño Smash burger, a vanilla shake, and a large Smashfries. I love that the smashfries come seasoned with garlic and Rosemary. This is a great burger and the fries are very good. BUT DO NOT GET Bacan their Bacan is not cooked. It's so nasty I paid for Bacan and had to pull it off my burger. Other than that I love this place. The black tea is really really good. It taste a little different than most places. The creame jalapeño Double is very good, it has its own little flavor. the place is pretty clean but sometimes the tables are dirty that and the Bacan made me five a 4 star. Despite having nationwide locations and several in Houston alone, this Smashburger feels fully integrated with the Pearland community. The interior looks very welcoming with spacious seating and even outlets at the bottom of the booths if you decided to stay a while. Kids eat free on Wednesdays with the purchase of an adult meal, and they recently held a coloring contest for prizes. I vaguely remember the last time I visited this establishment more than a decade ago; it served as a tastier alternative to McDonalds for my buddies and I in high school. They have revamped this place since then, but the burgers still taste about the same. I ordered the double classic with smash fries, and my mom ordered the same except with sweet potato fries. I enjoyed the burger, most notably the smash sauce, but it contained too much salt this time. I kept thinking about it with every bite I took. The ingredients themselves tasted fresh though. Not a big fan of the smash fries... I understand the vision they're shooting for with rosemary and garlic, but it still tasted awkwardly plain. Additionally, they were far too drenched in olive oil. But the sweet potato fries? Love those. If anything, they highlighted my experience today more than the burgers. I'm normally not a fan of them at any restaurant, but Smashburger made me a believer. Smashburger isn't a gourmet burger joint by any means, but the experience elevates it above conventional fast food restaurants. I recommend giving them a chance at least once. So disappointing that I have to write this kind of review, especially after having a great experience at the Yelp Elite event that was not even a month ago at this location. I decided to surprise my Foodie Protege (who is in elementary school but smart as a whip) with a Friyay Shake. I remembered that Smashburger had half price shakes until 5PM, so I decided to swing by just beforr picking my passenger up for the evening. Customer service was great and with just a few minutes to spare, I was able to partake in Happy Hour. I even asked for a chocolate and oreo shake mixed together which the crew member had no issue with. As was shared at the YEE, the milkshakes are made to order, so I waited about 5 minutes for them to be made. Mind you, I had mentioned in my review of the YEE that the sample shakes that were given seemed a little too luquidy, but I figured the shaked has been sitting out prepped for a large crowd and had started to melt. My visit this week proved that my theory was incorrect. I had the same liquidy texture from an in store made to order shake just as I saw from the YEE. Pressed for time, I decided to let my Foodie Protege give me insight on the shake. At first, my protege was exclaiming that this shake was 5 out 5, however, the rating turned to a "4.1 out of 5" because my Foodie Protege disvored multiple chunks of ice at the bottom of the shake. I asked if the .9 off waa for each ice chunk found in the shake...my protege stated no, there were waaay more," so my Foodie Protege was being gracious about the review. However, I again was disappointed that was the experience because I could have easily went across the street and ordered an Oreo shake from ChickFila whose shakes I do enjoy instead of giving Smashburger another shot with theirs when I has just recentlt tasted samples of their shakes at an event and was not a fan. I try to give people and establishments the benefit of the doubt, but this experience just proves to me that a restaurant does not always have the capacity to expand their selections and offerrings to compete. Stick to what you're good at Smashburger, and that is a great burger and fries, but leave the shake for the other guys. read more

This was my first time trying Smashburger but it won't be my last!! I really liked the flavor of the double classic burger. The meat and cheese combination tasted delicious together, although a tad bit greasy. The plain fries are just okay. My first time getting a smashburger but it won't be the last. Hubby has been here 3 times already. We just had a 'one patty bacon cheeseburger' and it was fantastic. The rosemary fries are out of this world too. Flavorful and crispy. Yum! The game was on but there wasn't many fans here today so it was quiet. I've been coming to Smashburger fairly regularly ever since we had a YEE on another part of town. I greatly appreciate their offering Brussel sprouts as a side in addition to fries and tots. Darn good very well seasoned Brussel sprouts at that. They also have a great variety of burgers that you can get bunless and with beef or turkey. They also have chicken sandwiches that look pretty good. I'm pretty much stuck on the mushroom swiss burger. That with the Brussel sprouts (chef's kiss) and my belly is full and glucose is in a healthy non-diabetic or prediabetic range in the end. :) This Smashburger is a little ways away from my home and towards the more congested area of Pearland but I appreciate it isn't too far from where I live. Service was great! Burger was tasty and not too fatty. I opted for Mayo in the side but honestly this burger was flavorful enough not to require anything extra. It's a think patty which I enjoy more than thick Patties. Brussels sprouts were good and crispy with a side of non homemade ranch. Place was clean. Sodas are available for refill. Smashburger is one of my favorite burger spots and I'm glad to see that they're surviving in Houston. The meat is juicy and flavorful, the bun is so soft, and those Smashfries (rosemary and olive oil) are just fire! I like to order my meal on the app so that it's ready when I get there. I've gone in store and ordered in person and it's usually not that long of a wait, but it's nice to just show up and have your food ready and waiting. I really wanted some Smashfries, but I wasn't really wanting a burger. I saw that they now have chicken tenders. I don't know if this was recently added to the menu or not, but I was happy to see them as an option. I've had their crispy chicken sandwich before and it's very tasty so I figured the tenders would be too. When I arrived, I noticed that they changed their logo. They have new signage on the building and they completely redesigned the inside. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted. My food was ready for me so I didn't even have time to snap a picture of the dining room lol. I checked my order before I left and everything looked correct. When I got home, I realized they forgot to put my bbq sauce in the bag (which I did select on the app) so that was a bummer. The tenders were good, but they were extremely salty. I could barely finish the three that I had because the saltiness just got to be too much. If you have high blood pressure, I would recommend not eating the tenders. I don't even want to know how much sodium is in them. I love this chain for an awesome burger. I hadn't had it in a good while. I ordered my usual, the Classic Smash Burger with no sauce togo. I also got some Chicken Strips for my dad. My burger was very delicious, beefy, moist and well-seasoned. Everything was very fresh in this purchase. The buns were really soft and not too doughy. The veggies were really fresh and refreshing. The meat and cheese were very tasty, rich and full of flavor combines with being good quality. Good service. I plan to dine-in again on my future visit to this cafe. Tuesday was National Burger Day so I stopped in for lunch. The man who took the order was very good, professional and cordial. But it was all downhill from there. It took fairly long to get the food, but it was understandable being it was lunchtime and the special day for burgers. They seemed understaffed. But the problem was the burger was a mess, with toppings all over the place, sloppily thrown together and not packed right.
