Pleasantly surprised by this place - I have been to other smash burgers and this one is by far my favorite. The staff were incredible and kind as soon as we walked in. The cashier was so kind and helped me decide on our meals- we went with the Double Classic Smashburger and Classic Turkey Smashburger with fries. Went to Smashburger after years! And needless to say, it's still as good as I remember it! There's ton of seating inside so you can dine-in or grab and go. The menu has great variety and you can substitute for a chicken patty, if needed. I do remember from my visit years ago that they had a black bean patty/burger option but it seems like that has been removed now. We got the classic smashburger, which was a solid 9/10 burger grilled perfectly. The sauce inside is delicious and the toppings were fresh and crispy. We also got a Colorado burger with a crispy chicken patty. The chicken patty was delicious but was wayyyy too heavy for the size of the burger. I couldn't finish it in one sitting. The toppings and sauce went really well with the patty, though! We also got some Brussels sprouts, which came with a side of ranch. They were really good but we only got a few actual Brussels sprouts while the rest were just crispy shavings. The smash fries were crispy, salty, and pippin hot. Perfect with ketchup! The best part of the meal was the Oreo milkshake. I've had a lot of milkshakes but this one takes the cake. It wasn't too thick so you could still drink from the straw. The sweetness was absolutely on point. The flavor was exactly what I imagined it would taste like. 10/10 milkshake for sure. It was a solid experience and I would definitely come back. Came here for a Yelp Elite event. First time ever trying Smashburger. So it's definitely something I was interested in trying. This location is near Costco on the other side of the parking lot and gas station in the newer strip mall. Don't worry about parking or traffic. There's plentiful parking, and the Costco craziness is confined to Costco. The gentleman that helped us (might have been the manager, I didn't get his name) was extremely friendly and excited to hear we're with Yelp. We were checked in fast, and our cashier was friendly too. I ordered the bacon double hamburger, smashtots, and a strawberry shake. The hamburger was a little greasy, and I got grease drops on my shorts, so be careful! I tried to use soap from the bathroom, but the dispenser was empty. I liked the smashtots. They had a lot of garlic flavor. The strawberry shake tasted like a strawberry shake. My first experience with Smashburger food was alright. However, I did enjoy the friendly staff. Updating my reviews to just okay. This location used to be great but the issues cannot be ignored, which are in terms of service and cleanliness. Messed up orders a few times. Once or twice is a fluke but several times shows lack of training and coordination. The tables are always sticky and bathrooms are filthy. This place looks like a tornado when through it. I might give this location one more try and then find an alternative if it keeps up this pace of alienating customers. read more

Came here for a Yelp event and wanted to try it again. I got the truffle and mushroom burger with sweet potato fries, and the dude got the avocado bacon burger with smash fries. Next time I'm getting his order. The burger I had was a bit salty. The cashier was really sweet and professional. The ambiance is casual with tvs and a Chicago mural. This is our second time here and as someone who can't have dairy, I love their dairy free shakes. We got the Reese's peanut butter and chocolate dairy free shakes and both were so good. I've previously also had the Oreo shake and my personal favorite of the 3 is the classic chocolate shake. The staff both times has been friendly, and we appreciated this time the staff making our shakes noticed that the first shake he made was way too watery and made another one for us immediately. We ordered the 6 piece wings with BBQ sauce and sweet potato fries for a snack to share. We got to try the Double Truffle Mushroom Swiss, Double Classic Smash, Smashfries, Smashtots and a cookies and cream milkshake. My cousin and I went for lunch at Smashburger in Oakbrook on Friday afternoon. When we walked in, we placed our orders at the front entrance. I asked for my single burger to be cut in half.(It wasn't). My cousin ordered a double burger with a large order of fries. While we waited for our order, I went to the restroom. I have seen gas station restrooms cleaner than Smashburger's. When our order arrived, my hamburger was not cut in half, the French fries tasted like they were cooked in the same oil/grease as the hamburgers. As I waited for my cousin to finish her lunch, I noticed the uncleanliness of the restaurant. There was even an ant trap under the counter where food is ordered. I suggest the Health Department make a surprise visit. Most of the staff busied themselves with breaking down boxes while others talked with their friends. A very nice ambience and a warm welcome coming in the front door. It was not busy at the time and I was not sure what to order , no pressure given to order and even made some suggestions. My husband advised his burger just seemed okay but noted he liked the bun too. The fries were delicious a little overpowering with spices but that's what we ordered.
