We had a great time at Smash it Breakroom. We found them on Groupon. It's a bit pricey, but fun nonetheless. When we arrived, they went over safety rules, let us choose our tools, and explained the process to us. The package we chose came with breakables and we blew right through those! We ended up purchasing more breakables to fill our time and relieve stress. We felt safe there with the hard hats and safety glass provided along with following the rules they gave us. I enjoyed being able to have my kiddos enjoy the experience as well. There was also anal in which we could throw stuff at - tons of fun. Enjoyed it! This was an impromptu stop while my wife and I were visiting Denver and a great way to blow off some steam. My first breakroom experience and I'd say it went as one would hope it would! They've got a variety of different packages for different group sizes and add ons to customize it to your liking. Even an option for a solo 10 minute session! It appears most sessions are 20 minutes and that was great for us. I also love that they have a bluetooth speaker for your own personal soundtrack to the experience. As they require, long sleeves and pants are a must but I also recommend getting the protective disposable suit. I'd also recommend wearing shoes you don't mind getting dirty or buying some shoe covers if you can. I got some unexpected substance on mine (though it washed off easily). This is a cool concept, especially if you need to get some anger or frustration out. You go into a room solo or with one other person and literally smash everything in sight. I don't know who came up with this concept but it's pretty interesting. After signing a waiver and putting on safety gear (glasses, gloves and a helmet), you select the tools you and your partner (if you have one) will use to get to work. Smash, break or throw everything from electronics to glass to ceramic and plastic. You can use bats, crowbars, sledgehammers, Thor's hammers lol and more. If you go with a group larger than two people, you can alternate in and out of the room and watch what's happening on monitors in the waiting area. You are required to wear pants, closed toe shoes and long sleeves and I can understand why. When you're using heavy duty objects and tools with all the force behind it, stuff is literally flying all over the room. If you ask me, they should require you to wear a face shield and full coveralls. Glass and other small particles like it that fly through the air are so unpredictable, so it was really tough for me to get out of my own head. I couldn't help but to think of what could go wrong. It didn't help that I had a few small pieces of glass wind up inside my jeans, definitely freaked me out. I would have been more comfortable with more protection but from pictures I've seen of similar businesses both here and in my hometown I think what we had in terms of gear was pretty standard. It is a very different concept. I'm glad we got to experience it. Spoke with Drew the week prior to coming and he was able to get my Groupon situation corrected. And then when we got there a real nice employee Tree(I know I'm spelling it wrong) assisted us. Very chill and laid back threw in some extras since we were the last party. We had a 40min package for 4 people. They wisely only allow 2 people in the room at a time. They put a timer on the door to countdown and beep when your time has elapsed. 40mins between 4 people to break stuff doesn't sound like alot but it's actually more than enough time. If I could do it over I'd reduce it to 20mins. Believe it or not, it's very tiring breaking things. Allow the facility is very hot. I recommend if in the area to give it a try. I am extremely disappointed because I received an email that my appointment was canceled early morning. In the email they got my name wrong and missed a few things like it was rushed. They stated that the balance would be refunded back to my account, but I was given a gift card to use. I have no idea where the money has gone, and have sent multiple emails to receive no reply, and I am now unable to try and schedule a new appointment online. I'm so glad that Smash It has individual sessions that are affordable and timely. It's 10 minutes long and includes glass wear but you can also add on small electronics if you'd like. I got a coffee maker and an air freshener with the extras. I have been very stressed lately and have had some pent up anger and rage, so it was nice to go there and get that baseball bat and start smashing. This was my first time going into a smash room. I didn't know what to expect but knew I wanted to blow off some steam from how stressful work has been lately. I signed up for a quick 10min smash session. It was just what I needed! The service was quick, I was brought over to a small room that was already setup for me. They offer construction gloves, a hard helmet with a face shield and a bat for the type of session I booked. There's requirements for clothing and shoes that they inform you once you book, but they also offer a plastic protection suit if you prefer (at a small extra charge). Paid over $800 for what should have been 2 hours (which is what was discussed one month prior). We were told "the rooms were double booked" and we would only have an hour. We had discussed previously via email the need for a table and space as we were bringing food. That wasn't communicated to any staff supposedly and we were told food wasn't allowed and were made to feel completely unwelcome. Overall, our visit there was fun. Not a fancy looking place by any means. In fact, it was a bit of a dump but how nice does somewhere need to be to destroy stuff? There were 3 things that made the experience less enjoyable. The first was the level of dust in the place. They really need more air exchange. Considering the types of dust from electronics and appliances, there will be dust that is unhealthy to breathe. It was not unbearable but more air movement would be better. The thing that really bothered me is attributed to one particular staff member. Everyone there was friendly except one girl who was on a real power trip. If someone left the smash room and didn't immediately put their mask on she was aggressively telling them they need to put it on. If someone was walking into a room before another person was completely out she was right there shouting that only two are allowed in a room. You could clearly tell she was making the most out of the little bit of power she had been given. It really ruined the experience for me. We were there to have fun and this little power tripping girl couldn't help herself. She really liked yelling at our group even though we were following rules, just not to her satisfaction. The third thing which was super annoying was that they were supposed to bring more "breakables" half way into our 40 minute session. Finally with less than 4 minutes remaining we asked and they went and found some glass in the back. By the time they brought it out our time was basically up and here some miss power trip to let us know we needed to leave. We tried to explain but she was not willing to be reasonable. It took other staff to tell her to back off. Basically, my son was given 10 seconds to break the remaining pieces which was pretty joyless. The experience would have been better if it was not for that staff member. Really ruined it for us. read more

My wife took me here as a surprise for my birthday. What better way to let off some stress from hectic work schedules and 3 young kids at home, right? This place is in a very unsuspecting warehouse and is a much larger venue than it leads on from the entry area. I checked in on Yelp to get an extra item to smash (a duck vase!), and we got the rundown of what to expect. Each person picks out two destruction tools. I took the sledgehammer and a crowbar, and my wife took an aluminum baseball bat and a mechanic's wrench. We put on protective gear and were shown to our room in the back of the warehouse. They gave us a rundown of what items were already in the room (beer bottles, dvd players, a stereo, some china, wineglasses, a bed frame, a car hood, and that duck vase of course!) and informed us we had 20 minutes to let loose. That didn't feel like a lot of time, but it certainly was. Finally, they gave us a bluetooth connection to play our own music. We turned on Godsmack's debut album, and proceeded to beat the shit out of everything in the room. It was a total body workout. We played baseball with wine glasses, destroyed the dvd player Office Space style, and poked a hole in the car hood and flung it around the room. We were sweating by the time they came in to gave us the 2-minute warning. We had a blast, let off a ton of steam, and got some before and after pics to prove it. The experience was fun, something I've been meaning to try for a while, and very therapeutic. I will definitely come back when I need to let out my frustration again. read more

My 3 friends and I were accused of acting "drunk" and told we could not get the service we paid for because we brought in a vodka bottle to smash, which happened to still have literal DROPS at the bottom... I had an entire bag full of various old bottles that I brought to smash, sorry I didn't rinse my recycling from last night. This is ageism at its finest! I seriously tried to reason with this guy but he just acted like we were belligerent, which is totally ridiculous. "Just let us talk to your manager about this" .. Nothing. We payed them around $300 and they have a "no refund policy" which was screamed at us by the front worker. He refused to give us his manager when asked. Didn't have soap in their nasty bathroom either. Highly unprofessional ... especially for a place where you give so much money for something you could do at the dump for free. I purchased a groupon and brought my brother in law for his bday so we could try this out. I was disappointed that the groupon is only usable for certain days of the week and during certain hours. I had planned on using it as a jumping off point and adding more time and bring more folks to our outing. I could have called and tried to make those arrangements, but didn't in the end. I just used the online scheduling system. The business itself is a great idea. You can tell its a newer business because there were a few missed opportunities or areas for improvement. We were the only people in there on a Wednesday afternoon. We were shown to a small room with a bolted table to place objects on to hit. We were given safety gear and a choice of bats to use. Each of us was given a small box of items to smash. The room is monitored via video so your friends can watch you smash from the outside. It is dead quiet and the box of items we were given had an assortment of things in it, but half of them were flat (like a candy dish).. so they laid flat on the table you are supposed to hit from making it awkward and not really satisfying. The staff was super nice but didn't talk about the offerings or what else we could buy. The lack of music was the biggest disappointment. You generally would want some loud tunes to make the most of your smash time. This business has a great start and lots of opportunities to really turn it up. Snacks/drinks for people waiting/watching their friends smashing? Music choices? Role play scenarios to read/take advantage of? People being able to talk to you via speaker as you smash to pump you up? Bigger variety of smashable items? Awards to be purchased by groups to give out to participants (best smash, best swing, best form, most aggressive etc..)? Thick shatterproof glass on one of the room walls so people can see clearly? Tshirts (maybe saying "I smashed it, smashable etc..)? Lots of room to grow the business. I wish them luck! read more

Would give 0 stars if possible.. I went in for my appointment and whoever was in charge of the group, I think his name was tree or something. He was very rude and made my group feel very uncomfortable. It kind of felt like he was doing it on purpose. He deducted time for us being late, that was understandable. But then he made us feel dumb about being late because we are teachers and he said "we wouldn't be late for our kids that we teach and we should be more responsible." Just completely unacceptable. We felt like she was a little power hungry and instead of kindly telling us we were doing something wrong, we got yelled at like children. It honestly ruined it for us. This should be a place to go to have fun and let loose but the staff had sticks up their butts. Hire friendlier people or at least someone who can pretend they like their job. Was fun. We did a 10minute package and I came out of the room with about 3 minutes to spare. It was a fun experience, we got the most basic package so it definitely wasn't amazing or anything. But it is nice to finally be able to just break glass, with no judgment! They provided us with a small box with about 10 small pieces of glass in it. We were also allowed to use any glass that was already previously on the floor. 10 minutes is a very long time when you are breaking stuff. My boyfriend and I both didn't finish each of our 10 minutes. They provide a safety helmet and some gloves for protection. Was a cool little experience. You can watch each other on the TV while you are both doing your own session. There is a worker with you there the whole time to monitor the session. We took our son and his friends here for my son's 20th birthday. They LOVED it! Staff was very friendly and even helped us find a set of keys that fell out in the smash room.
