They were previously used for apartment cleanings and were beginning to expand to cover commercial building cleaning as well. I gave BBCC a call and they were polite, professional, and friendly. We met at two properties where we were looking to switch over cleaning services and walked through discussing the current cleaning deficiencies and what BBCC could do to ensure our properties were kept in better shape and that our Trustees would be happier with. I quickly received the estimates for monthly cleaning service which also included 2x per year carpet cleaning, weekly trash and recycling take out, and an extensive first-time cleaning of the building. We immediately saw a difference in service and cleanliness of the building. Their initial clean was night and day between our old cleaners, on top of cleaning the carpets the common areas looked almost completely new! BBCC has since maintained the buildings to that level of cleanliness and been responsive to other day-to-day requests such as light bulb changing and if we have a spill or clean up in the building. We also saw a savings in our annual cleaning budget by not paying separate carpet cleaners to come out and not seeing other add-on type charges for a trash clean up, or other random but not infrequent building type issues. My friend gave me her Revolutions Cleanings groupon and I gave them a call. I think the only downside of the experience was scheduling. They have 2 phone numbers and one doesn't have a voicemail box. The other one says "due to high call volume, please visit our website" (which makes no sense as the website has no place to contact them except through the phone). I got a call 2 days after my first voicemail and they scheduled something for the following week. The next day they called to reschedule for one day later. They texted me to confirm my address - smart because I didn't feel that we were understanding each other that well over the phone. Then, when they were supposed to come, no one came. They were an hour and fifteen minutes late. I called, couldn't get ahold of anyone, and then got a call back explaining that the cleaners were running late. Fine, but if you knew that you should've called me. If I had time to sit around at home waiting for someone to come over I'd be cleaning my own damn house. I have 2 kids and a hairy dog. My house hadn't been cleaned in a month. It was filthy. I expected with a 3 hour groupon they'd do the 2 bathrooms and I would feel like a new person. Maybe they'd sweep the kitchen. Boy was I wrong. Two people came and worked for 2 hours (which is really like FOUR hours on a 3hr groupon, so AWESOME) and they did 2 bathrooms, 1 kitchen, and tidied up in 3 bedrooms. We're talking top to bottom in the bathrooms - windows, mirrors, toilets, sinks, tub grout, EXHAUST FANS ARE YOU KIDDING I LOVE YOU. The kitchen was sparkly and clean in a way I'd never seen it. They cleaned the stainless steel everywhere. I think I should probably do that, it really does look nice. They cleaned the toaster and the microwave. I went to get dishwasher detergent and discovered they'd cleaned out the nasty cupboard under the sink. They cleaned the plastic drippy thing you put your hand washed dishes on. In the bedrooms, they dusted every surface including the ceiling fans. They made all of our beds. I'm sure there is even more I have yet to discover, but I was impressed they did the two bathrooms so well - everything else is icing on the cake. I'd give them 5 stars but this is just the first time. I want to see how it goes next month when I invite them back, especially because I don't know how much it would cost to repeat what they did today. For the cost of the groupon this was an amazing value. Oh - per the other reviewers, I am not sure if they brought their own stuff. I have a bathroom closet stocked with cleaning supplies and there was some sort of bleach spray bottle cleaner on the bathroom counter that may or may not have been mine (seriously, I am a lazy cleaner). They did use a LOT of my paper towels. Their website says they have non-bleach alternatives, but I didn't look at their website until after I'd scheduled their services and they clearly used bleach. It reeks of bleach in the house, but small price to pay for the stunning beauty of 90% of my living space.

Personally, I think the company was overwhelm with Groupon and couldn't handle the volume. Also, I don't know what the deal with Yelp is because last week there was a bunch of bad reviews, I tried them regardless because it was cheap from Groupon and worth a try.

The sink appears to have been wiped down hastily, as has the toilet. and here's an especially HILARIOUS discovery -- the kitchen trash, which was not taken out, CONTAINED A SWEATER OF MINE. ??!?!?!?!?!? Why would a sweater end up in the trash? This is beyond bizarre to me. Did they use my sweater as a towel or something? Spill cleaner on it? WTF WTF WTF. Kitchen floor looks ok, but not gleaming. Looks about as clean as when I lazily use a Swiffer Mop and water. They did do a good job with the stove and sink. There are tons of places they didn't dust. Like, really obvious spots: the top of my dresser, my TV table. I have a cat and she sheds and there are still clumps of hair in not-very-hidden places. I'm kind of wondering what they did for 2 hours. I could have done this level of cleaning myself in about 30 minutes. They did a great job on the: Dishes Stove Kitchen Windows looked excellent Blinds looked good Bathroom looked great especially the shower (except we discovered the next morning that the shower head was broken) I was satisfied with the common area However a few things did seem a little below the bar: I noticed that there was no attempt what-so-ever to "tidy up" Clutter was literally piled up into corners of our home For example: the books that were on the floor in my son's room next to the book shelf, were piled up in the corner of his room instead of being put on the shelf. Next, in the bathroom, things were removed from around the sink to clean the area and not returned...most notably my son's toothbrush which was found on a shelf near the tub encrusted with dust and hair (this was not how we left it this AM!!) The top sheet for our bed was placed over the comforter...I have never seen a bed made that way. There were also many spots in our bedroom that the vaccum missed :( I will be the first to admit, our tiny North End apt is pretty cluttered and tough to clean...but I feel like there could have been a LOT more effort put into the details. Please know that I did not expect the crew to re-organize my apartment, I am sure they did the best job they could with the time they had. But compared to other cleaning services I have hired in the past (which were priced lower) I am afraid this time I was let down. Also we left the cleaners an extra $30. On Venmo, the cleaners liked my payment and thanked me. I adhered to what I thought was my end of the bargain. Marli proceeds to tell me that the price is per cleaner per hour which is not what was originally communicated to me on the phone. The whole conversation was very odd and confusing considering it was two weeks after the service and I thought I already paid generously based on what original price that was communicated. The rest of the conversation was unprofessional with her accusing me of things I never said, such as that I told the cleaners I was going to Venmo her directly the additional amount owed. I never said that and I was just trying to understand what the heck was going on and not feel like I was being taken advantage of or being confused with another customer. She also made a comment about her workers needing the money more than I did which I thought was completely out of line. If you use Marli's cleaning service, I highly recommend you get it in writing how much is being quoted so there in no question what's being charged and no wildly unprofessional accusations. It seems like they do work under the radar on weekends and try not to keep any paper trails of transactions. It was all very shady. It wasn't about the money as I went on to Venmo the additional amount Marli claimed I owed. What upset me was how I was treated and the accusations made.
