Being from the metro Detroit area where a haircut alone costs $50, I thought wow, what a great deal, I'll get my hair done. I have very thick and heavy hair and I asked the stylist to give me some layers and just lighten things up. We decided on some highlights. The haircut looked okay at first, I was okay with it when I left. However, my layers started to look weird. They were uneven and just didn't look right. My hair was poofy. It wasn't a good look. The highlights were barely noticeable. Not worth the $50 plus tip. Like 6 months later I decide I want my hair cut. Being as this is one of the only places in town, I decide to give them another chance and just try another stylist. The girl who cut my hair was a very nice girl. I requested the same thing and my cut this time was better than the one I got the previous time but it wasn't a 'wow' haircut. The thing that really bothers me is how unprofessional some of the other stylists were. The stylists were chatting with each other the entire time. I'm sorry but if you are cutting my hair I don't really want to hear about what movie you guys are going to see later that night. If you advertise walk-ins welcome, then accommodate a walk-in (or as in my case 2x, a call-in). If that is limited to hair cut only, then say that. For me? 3 strikes. Time to find a new salon.
