While facing the daunting process of relocating 3 1/2 hrs outside of the GTA, we looked on line at…read morereviews of many places. This company stood out. We contacted the company and dealt with Amanda who was, in a word, FANTASTIC. Amanda arranged a link via phone and as I walked through my house, she asked what was staying, what was going how much help packing did we require, etc. We also wanted a 2 day move...moving everything out on one day and having it delivered the following day. Based on our needs, Amanda drafted a quote, advised us on the number of movers we'd need, the number of trucks, etc. She was bang on and an absolute pleasure to deal with. On the day of our move out, the first team (Junior, Cooper, Fabio and Adrian) arrived on time and ready to go. We escorted them through the house, garage and backyard and told them what was being moved vs. remaining items. Junior said to leave it to them and they started loading the truck. Cooper was a wiz at wrapping furniture in moving pads, Fabio arranged items to go out first and Adrian did grunt work. All four were a pleasure to deal with and were extremely careful in ensuring items were packed securely. Working as a team, they had our house emptied in about 5 - 5 1/2 hrs (almost exactly what Amanda quoted). The following day, Truck One arrived as scheduled on time with 3 of the same team members (Junior, Cooper and Fabio). They immediately started unloading. When they were almost done, Truck Two arrived (perfectly synched with Truck One going emptied). On that truck was Adrian and two new faces..,Austin and Stephen. This team of 6 had the trucks emptied in no time, putting boxes, furniture in the correct rooms all while being cognizant of not damaging anything. When done, we tipped the movers and thanked them for their efficiency. They were amazing to deal with. In reflection, every interaction we had with the staff was nothing short of stellar. You hear horror stories about moving companies and Rent--a-Son couldn't be further away from those stories. They were everything we had hoped for...careful, efficient, friendly, fast and mindful of your things. By the way, our final bill came in just under Amanda's quote..no hidden charges..everything laid out as she explained. I highly recommend them and would use them again.

When I picked up the truck the gas gauge appeared to be at half and the paperwork gas area highlighted indicated to be the same. So when I returned the truck I made sure I added what I used and the gauge was in the same location, at the half point. Unfortunately for me when I returned the truck I was changed an extra $18.37 for gas because they said it was at the 9/16 mark not the 1/2. This was so small of a discrepancy on the gauge and is so minuscule you would have thought for customer service they would have just let it go or said something to me. Nope, nothing just changed my card. They don't pay for the gas anyway, the customer does. So because of this I rate 2 stars. I have rented many U-Haul vehicles in Southwestern, Ontario and this is the first real customer service issue I have had. Maybe I have been lucky! If Susan and Michael the Customer Advocacy Agents at Stockyard's want to disappoint a customer over a fuel gauge mark discrepancy, a litre of gas and over charge me an extra $18.37 over and above they need customer service training as soon as possible. Just felt ripped off and not treaded restfully over this small gas gauge issue. So make sure you read and understand your bill before you approve payment or it will cost you! They said they wouldn't help because "their is nothing we can do", was their exact words. It didn't make sense considering they had other units available and it was THEIR mistake (my booking was legit and they could see it), they should have been able to somehow do something to honor our rental agreement. But true to their words, THEY DIDN'T HELP AT ALL! Basically didn't give a s**t, told us we could just pay for the next size up (65$+tax for a 1 foot difference to my booking?! It was terrible, I was exhausted and baffled, got to be the worst customer service we ever had. The staff called the manager, who refused to help! The manager was actually so unprofessional and told the staff to charge us full price or just ignore us and get us out!
