    PLEASE READ!! I have to write this to ALERT AND WARN new storage users of the potential risks of…read moreusing of Access storage. I used them for a year I met Mitch ( regional store manager ) and Vince ( the acting store manager at the time) it's Tyler now. In June 2024, my STORAGE UNIT WAS BROKEN INTO, majority of my items including my expensive computer gear and treasured family objects were stolen! the manager didn't alert me so I found out by complete surprise and he said "he was getting to it but forgot". I filed a police report the same day as I was told to and asked the regional manager Mitch to file an insurance claim. ( yes I was paying insurance ). It's December 2024 guys, I've had to call over and over again, send emails again and again. I've still gotten no answers. I never received compensation and I'm being blown off again and again. I'm completely devastated, but if you can learn from my experience then it'll save you thousands and heartache.

    I figure I'll give my honest opinion here as many trust my opinion…read morebeing a top 250 reviewer on Amazon.ca and a top 500 on Amazon.com. So here goes... Short version --------------- Pros - Excellent pricing compared to EVERYWHERE in Oakville & Mississauga. - It's clean. - Quite a bit of surveillance (A good thing) so awesome security. - Heated loading/unloading bay. - Friendly Staff. - Carts for lugging your stuff around. - Always 1 elevator not on service, so people can't hog both elevators. It will return to ground - This is a big one. ONLINE BILLING!! I can't express how much I love this! Cons - Only 3 loading bays - No lights inside the units Long version ---------------- I am a two time returning customer. The first time around I noticed how clean the facility was and of course being a new building was a bonus. Andrea since day 1 opening our account has been very accommodating. I left the first time for access to a facility closer to home. Though it was a drive up unit, there was far less security/surveillance and if you're anything like me, a lack of a sense of security really affects how you sleep at night with your belongings in a storage unit. As of December 2017 after being at the unit closer to home literally walking distance to my door I decided to move back to Smart Stop Oakville. Maybe it's the sense of security, but this location feels far more secure to store my stuff. As I treat this as an extension of my home like a garage, that is a incredibly important for me to trust as I have trust issues. Realistically speaking my only 2 complaints with this location is that it only has 3 loading bays and no light in my unit, but the no light is more a frustration than a complaint after getting used to a light in my drive up unit. Friendly staff, realistic pricing that isn't trying to gouge customers and carts usually always available when moving stuff in or out. I am sadly someone who has expierence with almost every location in Oakville and Mississauga. I could list pros and cons at just about every location, but this location is the first in a very long time that I honestly don't worry as much about my unit. I'd highly recommend this storage facility if you're looking for somewhere to trust to store your belongings. I'll update my review every year with my thoughts and suggestions since I'm usually long term with any place I'm comfortable staying with.

    Absolutely horrible. I called 5x about 3 weeks in advanced to make sure that i was to pick my truck…read moreup at my preferred destination, and drop it off at my local uhaul. 7:30am rolls around and i get my truck. The girl at the desk googles local uhauls for me in my drop-off area and finds the closest location. She then writes it on my contract and sends me on my way telling me " you can drop these off at any uhaul really" 12 1/2 hours later i finish my 5-stop move and drive to my location to find out its closed. I call the number provided and they straight up tell me "theres nothing we can do about it and you're going to just have to drive 40 minutes to our other location to drop it off. Zero help. Zero understanding. Zero customer service skills. I then ask for a supervisor and she says the same thing. She also says the customer support line opens at 9am. I had to have my truck back by 7am or i would be charged so i tell her this and she says" meh i think they'll work with you i guess. So i force her to change my drop-off time to 10am and have my location changed. I drop it off at 9:30am the next morning and instead of filling the gas up to the 7/8+ mark line, i filled it all the way up cause thats the kind of guy i am. I had filled this the night before, but because i had to drive the truck BACK to my house and THEN to the new drop-off, the lady says to me " oh it looks like its a tad under" and charges me for the difference in gas. Once finished up i called customer service and was irresponsibly tossed around from department to department and hung up on, i finally got someone who in 3 mintues was able to set me up with an email from the GM of scheduling within 1 to 2 days. Still Pending. This has been the worst customer experience i have ever had. I highly advise choosing another service as i have not even been compensated for my troubles. I used to be a mover so i know how to make sure scheduling is appropriately communicated and uhaul just did not care. Never using them again and highly recommend anyone thinking of using them just rents a truck from another company.

    0 stars for customer service, friendliness, and common courtesy…read more Arrived and checked in with the front desk without any issues. Lots of available staff, but only one greeted customers, no one seemed interested in serving the growing line of waiting folks. I found it odd but didn't pay much mind. Then I encountered unacceptable customer service from one of the staff members. This was the first time I had issues with my hitch and proceeded to ask this employee about the policy and my options. He was extremely rude. His attitude, tone, and body language were all unacceptable, I actually had to remind this person that I am the customer, that I had questions, and it is his responsibility to answer those queries. Begrudgingly, after telling me he had OTHER THINGS TO DO, he slammed the things he had in his hands down, folded his arms, rolled his eyes as I proceeded to ask my questions. Furious, if it wasn't for the fact that I paid for the rental, I would have walked out. Jamal, the manager wasn't there; but he certainly needs to coach his staff to basic customer service. The staff who interact with customers need to be pleasant, patient and responsive to the customer's needs. If an employee cannot display common courtesy, that person needs to remain in a back room with no customer interface. Horrible experience - would never go back here!
