We spent many, many hours selecting options, discussing with their team, over the course of weeks. We worked through the details of the allowances, agreeing prices for each item. Then, the day after the attorney review period expired (fully one month of work into the project) the owner informed us he was canceling the contract. He never explained why but we found out: He sold the house - with all our carefully selected improvements - to another buyer for $15k more. We were left with over $1,000 in expenses and NO HOUSE. Bitter? Yes, I am. Could I have sued to enforce our agreement? I suppose so. But when you find out your contractor is a sleazeball, better to let them slip back into the muck. Lesson: There are plenty of fish in the sea. Throw this one back and keep fishing.

These projects were supposed to be completed within a maximum of one month. My spouse repeatedly asked the owner of this company to provide the final version of the contract for signature, but Mohammad kept delaying and avoiding this request with various excuses. According to the agreement, we were supposed to pay 30% of the contract amount at the start of the projects, and the remaining amount upon their completion. Unfortunately, due to an unfounded and mistaken trust in Mohammad, my spouse ended up paying him the full amount within a month -- even though, after seven months, the projects are still not finished and Mohammad is no longer answering our calls. He even failed to pay his workers, and we had to provide fruit, sweets, food, and lunch daily to Mohammad's workers for two months. Although my spouse has hired a skilled legal attorney and this matter is being pursued through the legal system, the stress and mental toll he has endured during this time is irreparable. Therefore, if you are considering a renovation or construction project in your home (painting, roofing, remodeling, finishing basement, retaining wall, etc.) , I strongly advise you not to consider this company or its owner. The most dishonest, incompetent, and disgraceful qualities a person can have are embodied in the character of this company's owner.

They were very sloppy got paint speckle's on my entire new floor and baseboards. Paint on my stairs leading to the outside and even on my driveway. Left the room with dust everywhere and did not move my furniture back as he said they do. Did not clean or prime the walls before painting them. I had a dust web on one wall corner and it was still there when they said they were finished painting. You can see roller marks on my ceiling and missed panting marks. Every appointment we had with him he either was hours late or did not show up. No phone calls and no shows. We have cameras in our house and they were standing on my $10,000 pool table and my speakers to paint. When I confronted both Haroon and the supervisor Gino all they said was "well was there any damage". After several attempts and missed appointments Haroon agreed to come back. Of course he was 8 hours late and all he said after I pointed out the horrible painting job is that he want to get past all of this and would repaint. 2 more appointments set up with him and no show and no calls. After 2 phones calls of calling the company Times Construction I left a message that I will be going to small claims court about this the supervisor Gino called and assured me that he will get this corrected or refund my money. Same scenario no show for appointments although he did call one time and said that the person that was to come got kick out of the place that she/he lived in and they could not make it. Wanted to set up another appointment on a day that my husband was having surgery. I explained I would need to call back to give them the time. Well I called gave the Ok to come and again no show no call. On top of all of this we have a TV on the wall and Haroon said that they are painting around it because no one can see behind the TV. What a joke. My husband took the TV off of the wall and told them to be careful as it was leaning against our couch. Haroon knocks the TV over and tells my sister " oh well they need a new TV anyways". They also only painted half of the room because they said that paneling cannot be painted. When we researched this and confronted him about it he said too much work. Our contract was for him to paint the paneling. I am now going to take them to small claims court. Beware!

We had a home repair loan through our city, and the city chose to go with Optima for the repairs…read more We needed a hole in our garage fixed, some leaks in our bedroom ceiling, and new plumbing. We also had a grant for lead abatement. They did a great job on the plumbing and the garage roof repair, but there were problems with the lead removal. The company doing the lead removal gave us conflicting information about when we could and couldn't be at the house. They took a few days to do the windows and then said they were finished but the city employee came to check the work and said they missed a window, so they had to come back. It was well over a week before we could move all our furniture back. They also broke the pulley on our expensive window shade and disabled the basement door sensor on our alarm system, so we couldn't set our alarm at night. They came back and ended up using a ceiling fan part to fix the pulley and I don't even know how they got the door sensor back on, but it was finally working. Overall, Optima was fine, but the subcontractors they used for the lead abatement were awful. I don't even know the name of that company, but don't go with Optima for lead abatement.

The work took over 3 MONTHS and he WALKED OUT on it close to done -- literally half-way through installing appliances, leaving broken tile, trash, and a dishwasher lying on the floor. He didn't do some things he'd promised, took cash for things that didn't happen (driveway reseal), and repeatedly lied about when he'd be done. He didn't deliver a washer he promised and was paid for. As other reviewers have said, he kept asking for money, and kept begging for time. After he ran away with the job undone, he threatened to put a lien on my house if I didn't pay him what he demanded. I paid because it was so much better -- and simpler -- to get him out of my life. Some of the work was decent: tiling, for example. But the painting was low grade -- every window was stuck; who paints hinges? -- the garage floor is peeling already, the countertops are flaking, the interior doors are a poor fit, etc, etc. His wife does "cleaning" and I paid her for post-construction clean (we were that close to done after 3+ months) but even that didn't get rid of the paint on the hardwood floors (poor prep work), didn't clean the windows as promised, and was generally sub-par. Sal comes across as young and willing. But something is seriously wrong with the business. Don't hire the guy. If you do, you'll suffer.

My husband and I were in the process of renting my girlfriend's property which was almost unlivable! The Firmstones came in, worked their magic in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner and we were good to move in earlier than expected! Natalie and Todd made sure we were happy down to every minute detail and made several trips to our property to make sure all was well. They're great about keeping an open line of communication every step of the way. Such a professional duo! Here we are, 2 years later, and the village has requested more work be done on the property. After trying endlessly to work with the villages recommended contractors, we ended up going back to Bulldog Property Services, LLC. In almost every case, the contractors refused the job, saying it was "too small." One of them actually demanded (yes, he demanded!) that he be allowed to knock down a wall between the kitchen and dining room! Just to make the job :big enough" for him to consider. Then we found Sal Corna. (Thank goodness!) Sal and his crew -- diligently led by Andres -- were thorough professionals. The were no surprises, no hidden extra costs, and the price was competitive and very, very fair. The job was done in about ten days (only five of which we were unable to use the kitchen). We're really glad we found Sal, and we hope to use Corna's services again soon.

When I contacted Ricky about the issue, he said he would come back to fix it. After waiting approximately a month with follow-ups and lack of response, he told me he had concrete dust in his lungs, and the repair would not be completed. I needed to find someone else.
