Called Erik Neikens of Smart Choice Repairs, LLC on Saturday due to a dieing AC unit. He said he was right up the street and would swing by to take a look. I felt bad at first because I could tell he had his cook-out clothes on and was ready to do some serious eating. Very friendly, knowledgeable and was willing to jump right in and try to figure out what was up. He found a bad condenser unit and a faulty wire. Made a few quick trips for parts and now I am once again basking in the cool cool air. All this for less that $100. It really feels great when you can find someone like this that you can trust. I just had the entire unit repaired last year by another company to the tune of $900! Like Erik Says on his business card, "Don't Replace it, Repair it!" Highly recommend this business! read more

UNBELIEVEABLE CRAZY!! I sent an item to Smart Choice Repair Center (Charley Weaver Bartender) on February 26, 2024. In early July I received a call from Tom a worker there telling me that my item couldn't be repaired for less than $500. Before I sent my item I sent a picture of my item to them and they gave me a quote of $150-$250 for the repair. I asked for my item to be returned because if I knew it would cost that much to be repaired I never would have sent it in. After not hearing from them for a while I called back on July 24, 2024. Then they told me my item had been repaired and sent me a video. After viewing the video I told Tom that my item was working a little slow and he explained that it just needed new batteries and that he would get new batteries and send me a new video. After not hearing from him again for a while I called back again on Aug 20, 2024 he then told me my item was at another location and it would be Monday before he could send me a new video of my item. After not hearing from him again for a week I call again this morning Aug 27, 2024. Tom answered the phone again and told me I called at the right time then he switched gears on me and said that the person who takes the videos wasn't in and that it would be the end of the day before he could make a video and send to me. I asked him why couldn't he just make on now while I was on the phone and he told me he couldn't because he had customers in front of him and he didn't have time. I then texted the company and asked if there was anyone else I could talk to other than Tom. Someone name Henry replied back that Tom is our manager and I would have to talk to him. I then asked Henry to call me, he replied back Unfortunately all I do is answer text messages and emails I cannot make outgoing calls. At that moment I realized that this company has either broken, lost or sold my item. I then ask that my item be returned today. Their reply was it would take two days because it would have to be sent to their process and shipping department to be sent out. I then got concerned because of their previous promises of actions that had not occurred I told them I would like a shipping code by the end of the day or I would be referring this matter to an attorney. Tom then texted back that I was threatening him with an attorney and that I could have my attorney contact him at his number. Since I've been dealing with Tom I get the feeling that a lot of people have threatened him with legal action because of the way he does business. The crazy thing about all this is Tom keep telling me my item is fixed but he won't send it to me. I keep telling him I'm ready to pay but he won't send it to me. He never return my call and always have a different excuse about my item each time I call. This item means so much to me because it was my fathers and I wanted it restored as a memory of him. The guy came as a initial check for our fridge and he said one part needs to be replaced. Next visit he changed the part. Of course we paid for both labor charge and the part. Our fridge was not fixed. total was $470....plus tips. I called him to come to fix with no charge and he never came, no called me back.... and we had to buy a new fridge. So disappointing and sad. No paperwork at all. read more

So glad we called Smart Choice Repairs. They returned our call quickly and were able to come look at our washer machine the next day. After checking everything out for us they explained the issue, he told me it would be very easy to do myself (which I did) to save money. SUPER friendly Very honest. I will be calling them again when I need appliance repairs. read more

The repairman showed up on time. He diagnosed and fixed our refrigerator filtered water issue quickly. I feel that the labor rate was fair - probably less than that of major repair outfits. He was also a nice guy! I arranged my entire repair request online, along with with added updates via two-way SMS messages. I liked not having to go through a switchboard. No listening to standard boilerplate about recorded calls, language selection, or having to repeat myself verbally. Bottom line: the entire service request-and-and-fix event was excellent read more

Christian is amazing! My dishwasher broke today and my husband had been in a serious accident over the weekend. A broken dishwasher is a bummer to begin with, but it was so much worst now. I called Christian and within an hour he was there. Did not have the part, but drive an hour roundtrip to get it for us. It was such a wonderful thing to do! Really made our day! He is a great person and deserves your business. read more

My refrigerator was leaking from beneath the freezer and was looking for a reliable repair service. Like everyone, I look at reviews from others who have used the service, especially for repairs. So this one had good reviews and I decided to go with this company. When I called the owner Derek answered. He seemed nice enough, I told him what was the problem and he told me what the problem might be and gave me a few suggestions on what to do until my appointment. He also asked me to email him a picture of the refrigerator and model which I did. I was working when he came. My husband told me he took the cover off from the back and cleaned it (I had already done this thinking it would solve the problem.) He told my husband to buy a blower and blow it out from the back. Well, why didn't he do it while he was there? It leaked again and I sent him an email and there was no response. I waited and nothing! My son looked on YouTube to see what could be the problem and he fixed it from a YouTube video. It hasn't leaked since. I am writing this review because you have to know the good and the bad before you make your decision in hiring a repair service. read more
