Great gyros! Good portioning and fresh ingredients. Little bit pricey though :/ One gyro is 20 bucks.

One of the best Mediterranean dinners if not the best we've had. We started off with the hummus,…read morethen for the main course went with the lamb shish kebab and the chef's special saslik kebab. They are must try. Esther, our server, made the recommendation and definitely steered us in the right direction. Both meats were cooked to perfection exactly how we asked for them. Each plate came with a different style of salad, and both were really good and complemented the meals well. To finish off dinner, we were offered complimentary Turkish tea, which was a nice touch and a great way to wind down after the meal. We sat outside and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Amazing food, great service, and a memorable dinner overall. Definitely recommend giving this place a try.

Still savoring the memories from Kalamata Mediterranean Cuisine, a spot that delivers a warm,…read moreauthentic Eastern Mediterranean/Turkish experience right by South Pointe. Its location makes it ideal for a relaxed dinner after a sunset walk, and the ambiance leans into that cozy, family-style hospitality the region is known for. We kicked things off with a generous mezze spread, a highlight here and consistently praised in reviews. It included creamy hummus, eggplant-based dips like baba ghanoush, beetroot, yogurt spreads, and a pepper-eggplant mix, all paired with warm, fresh pita that kept coming out just right. Sipping Turkish tea in the Miami heat somehow worked perfectly, it was refreshing in its own way. For the main, I ordered the Iskender kebab, a comforting, flavorful dish of gyro-style meat over pita, finished with a light tomato sauce. We also tried Efes beer, a crisp Turkish pilsner that balanced the meal nicely. Despite us being a group of 10, Barış, our waiter, handled everything with impressive attention to detail, something many diners mention about the service here: attentive, welcoming, and genuinely hospitable. To top it off, dessert was on the house--a creamy almond and pistachio pudding that paired beautifully with a strong Turkish coffee. A thoughtful gesture that really sealed the experience. Between the vibrant flavors, the inviting atmosphere, and the consistently praised service, Kalamata delivers a family-friendly, authentic Mediterranean night out that feels both elevated and relaxed. Definitely a place worth returning to. Afiyet olsun, bir daha görüşmek üzere!

His name is Vasili, very personable and kind. Our waitress was also great: Polina from Russia. Very efficient and personable, great person, great service now to the food: It was absolutely the most delicious food in South Beach. We ordered: Avoglomeno, an amazing and delicious chicken lemon soup (a Greek specialty) my boyfriend. Unfamiliar with Greek food loved it so much, wanted to go back the next day to get it again! And the main event was the Branzino fish which was also delicious and flavourful which came with a perfect creamed spinach. So far this restaurant is the best that we have experienced in South Beach Beach Earlier in the day we were walking past the restaurant and a man told us how great it was, he was totally right! For years, I had always passed-up the Poseidon on Washington Av. in South Beach,…read morethinking it was too much of an upscale restaurant for my social bracket. But, when I saw they were advertising a Lamb Gyro for $12 (Tuesdays), I took the leap. Seems it wasn't that far to jump. Although there were table cloths, cloth napkins and silverware, with room for a true dining experience, the fan sitting atop the bar, (blowing-off more air than necessary), and the plastic plants on the walls/ceilings threw-off any pretense I had of the place. When I requested the Lamb Gyro, the server pointed to an entree on the menu for me to approve. I made sure there wasn't another (re: pricier) offer. There was... it was the one he suggested. The gyro itself consisted of a bland (Tzatziki?) sauce that struggled to find my taste buds. Lamb (typically) has a gamey/slightly sweet flavor; these cuts seemed to be found from behind their refrigerator, (not from inside). They certainly weren't cut fresh from a spit, as they were old and nearly tasteless. The included slices of onion and peppers, delegated to the pita bottom, (instead of intermingling) barely helped. The French fries (included in the price) were the most flavorful part of the meal; although, they were an insult, rather than accompaniment to the experience. And, was that Latin (instead of traditional Greek) music coming from the speakers? Along with a 20% "Administrative" fee, I won't be tempted to venture in again.

Indoor seating was closed and they were only seating people outside at the moment. If you don't like dinning outdoors, avoid this place in the mid afternoons. Staff was friendly but asked us to give them a good Google review and brought out a QR code to scan. I don't really do Google reviews and said I'm only on Yelp. They said that Yelp isn't owned by them and reviews may not be accurate but they seem to be doing well on Yelp. Felt a little off putting. Food was mediocre and quite pricey, nothing to write home about. Komma Pikilla- was a platter of different dips. My least favorite was Lady Pink, very floral. Pita bread was average. Turkish Adana Kebab- lamb and beef grounded together. Came with roasted tomatoes, shishoto pepper and red onions; lined with a thin pita. Paired with Crete Feta Dip (also came in the Komma Pikilla). Chicken Kebab- wasn't dry but wasn't juicy. Came with roasted tomatoes, shishoto pepper and red onions; lined with a thin pita. Paired with Crete Feta Dip.

We went to Santorini for our honeymoon and my husband and I were celebrating our 16th anniversary. Reservations are hard to get here, especially on the weekend. Luckily I have Gold Status with OpenTable through work and was able to get on the Priority Notify list where I would be the first to know when tables open up on my desired date/time. And that's how we snagged this reservation on OpenTable on a busy Saturday on our actual anniversary. Woot woot!!! First off, this spot is ALL THE FEELS!!! So beautiful and absolutely charming. Just like Santorini. When we arrived, we checked in and only waited for maybe 10 minutes until they sat us. Meanwhile, there were many people waiting. When our table was ready, the hostess seated us to this cute little two top towards the back area, very intimate. For our anniversary, they gave us complimentary champagne. Very cool. Matias was our server and he was wonderful. Informative, attentive and friendly. They had small menu with specials for the day along with their regular menu. Below is everything we ordered: * Karpouzi Fresco $21 * Baked Feta $18 * Grilled Grouper with Orzo $42 * Grilled Lamb Chops $61 Got the Karpouzi Fresco with watermelon, mint, prosecco. The cocktail was perfect for the ambiance and so refreshing. Baked Feta was ridonkulously good with heirloom tomatoes with greek oregano and sumac. So fresh with lots of flavor and served with warm bread right out of the oven. Dinner was at another level and incredibly generous portions but also ELITE!!! Grilled Grouper with orzo was nice and the small shrimp was a nice surprise, funny enough when this dish came out, the grouper was hidden under the orzo and we thought they brought out the wrong dish. That was odd. Grilled Lamb Chops were cooked on point and so juicy with good flavor. Everything was just delicious! We opted not to have desserts here as we wanted to walk around Miami and find another spot for dessert. All in all, we had a lovely anniversary dinner and this place was perfect. So happy we finally got to come here. It's just as charming as the photos show. If you want a small piece of Greece, come here. I don't think you'll be disappointed. It has all the Santorini vibes!

Mandolin Aegean Bistro is absolutely beautiful. We visited on a Thursday around 2:00 p.m. and were…read morelucky enough to get a table right away. The setting is stunning, and you almost forget you're in South Florida. We sat outside, and thankfully, the fans kept things comfortable despite the heat. The atmosphere and service were both lovely. We started with the baked feta ($24), spanakopita ($20), and fries with yogurt ($16). Everything was delicious, but honestly, nothing was particularly extraordinary. These were all dishes that I felt I could find at plenty of other restaurants, which made the prices difficult to justify. Sixteen dollars for fries with yogurt, in particular, felt excessive for what the dish was. For our main courses, we ordered the handmade dumplings ($41), lobster spaghetti ($55), and catch of the day ($46). The dumplings were easily the highlight of the entire meal. Our server explained that they're made fresh every day by a dedicated woman whose sole job is preparing them, and you could absolutely taste the care that went into them. They were delicious and, unlike some of the other dishes, felt worth the price. Unfortunately, the other two entrées fell a little short. The catch of the day was very tender, but the flavor was underwhelming and could have used more seasoning. The lobster spaghetti was also rather bland, and the lobster itself was a bit tough. For $55, I expected a dish with much more flavor and better execution. We finished with the date cake ($16), which was fine but again, nothing memorable enough to warrant the price. Our total came to $371.52, including all the food, four glasses of wine, and two Coke Zeros. While we enjoyed the beautiful setting and pleasant service, the food overall didn't live up to the price point. The restaurant's Michelin Bib Gourmand recognition was part of what drew us in, but unfortunately, the meal didn't quite deliver the value or culinary experience I had hoped for. Would I return? Probably not. At these prices, I expected more distinctive flavors, better execution, and a meal that felt truly special. The setting is undoubtedly gorgeous, but for me, the food simply didn't justify the bill. I'd rather give a different restaurant a chance.
