The biggest issue was when my engine got coolant in cylinder #2 due to water intrusion. I honestly thought my car was totaled. Ming took the time to explain my options clearly: either replace the engine or rebuild it. Since rebuilding was much more affordable, I went with that option. Two weeks later, the car was ready -- and it drives just as smooth as before. I was honestly impressed. On top of that, his pricing is way more reasonable than other shops around the Bay Area. I did compare, and Ming was significantly cheaper without cutting corners. He's also a very kind, honest, and down-to-earth person. You can tell he genuinely cares about his work and his customers. I towed my old BMW to his shop for changing of battery & oil and do generic mechanic check as I have not used the car since Covid-19 pandemic started. He charged $900 for the repairing: ======== 1. Battery change 2. oil change 3. new coolant 4. air filter 5. DTC 2EF5 Thermostat ======== The funny things are that after I drive the car off, the coolant level indicated low and had to drive back to ask him check. He simply added some new coolant. Overall, I am satisfy and I think the price for the works that he performed were reasonable for me. Mr chen is an honest car mechanic. I brought my 07 Subaru here when its alternator died. Mr chen fixed it quickly and the price was very fair. I have since been taking my car back for oil change. I was actually looking for KSR, which happens to be in front of his shop, but as it was closed I took my chances with Min, which proved to be rewarding. I am really satisfied with Min's diligent work on my car. For the past two years my Town&Country's engine light was on and it used to stop off and on, during early mornings and even before coming to a halt, when approaching stop signs or red lights. After diagnosing the problem he spent full two hours to fix it, as I waited in his office. My car runs well now and it passed the smog check and I more than anything else, he charged me a fraction of what another mechanic had asked for in Sunnyvale. My first online review ever. I've had a lot of bad experience in the past, but never had the urge to write a review than this time. This owner is very unprofessional and dishonest. My Toyota Highlander had issues with the power door lock. I got Smart Auto Service's contact from Chinese social media WeChat and brought my car there. The owner works alone by himself. He told me the latch (door lock actuator) needs to be replaced and he would order one for me online, but I have to pay him $120 as deposit. Although I've never heard of deposit for car repair, I trusted him enough to send him the deposit on Thursday, January 26. He never contacted me with any follow ups after I made the payment. Since I didn't hear anything from him, I called and texted him a few times to check the status and tried to schedule an appointment. His answers were always the same - the part has not arrived yet and he cannot do anything. A week later (Thursday, February 2), I checked with him again. He said the part is still not available. When I asked him when the part will be available, he said he didn't know because it's an online order and there's no guarantee. At this point, I started to lose my trust in him and doubted he had ever ordered anything for me. I told him I didn't want him to repair my car anymore. Ironically, 5 minutes later, he sent me a message "I just found the part will be here this afternoon by UPS". I didn't want to do business with him and asked him to return my deposit. He refused. He didn't even want to give me the part by saying that he spent time doing the estimate and ordering the part for me, LOL. After I insisted to see the order information, he agreed to give me the part. When I went to his shop in the afternoon, he showed me a used part in a small shipping box, which was already open. The part was very old with a lot of wear and tear and even lubricant oil on it. The funniest thing was the whole part cannot even fit into the box and there's no shipping information on the box. When I asked him to show me the order and shipping information, he declined. Obviously, he just got the part somewhere maybe from a salvage yard. He lied to me from the begining. He never ordered anything online and just used it as a lame excuse. Because I already paid him $120, repairing my car became a low priority for him. BTW, I just found out I can get the same door lock actuator in much better condition by myself from ebay at $50 with free shipping. Shipping should take just 1 or 2 days. I instead spent $120 and wasted a week to get a used part from him, which may just cost him $10-20 from a junk yard. This guy really lacks professionalism and honesty. He never followed up with me about the status (not a single time) during the entire week and just kept telling lies when I contacted him. read more

He did great job and provide star service. Last year, we need to replace tires. His shop does not have tires in store. Since we need them right away.
