Disappointing... Been coming here for years. We appreciated them taking care of our cars and would give them treats and treats for Bitters the dog too. Tried to get a tune up. We first tried a couple weeks ago. Showed up for our appointment and were told they don't have time (Dell was out of town). Made another appointment today and were told twice that our car would be done around lunch. After 31/2 hours of walking around waiting they never even started working on our car. Asked if we could come back tomorrow. You're joking? 3 appointments. We don't live near the shop. John was SO rude to us. John was clearly upset with Dell and takes it out on us. It is hard to summarize a genuinely great experience with just 5 stars. There should be a rating for helpfulness, truthfulness and fairness. I bet these guys would knock out of the ball park all these ratings. I had a flat tire and this was the only place open early in the morning. I have run flat tires, which are always hard to repair; I was promptly helped and the price was very nominal. DJ gave me the full disclosure that the plug was not a long term fix and I will eventually need a patch. 10 min and I am out of the door. Great place ! My mom has been going here for years and a while I was having car troubles and she called them without me knowing and they told her I can come down that day. They fixed it and I picked up the next day. Just recently I was having a battery connection issue and went down to drop my car off. He said let me just take a look went to the garage grabbed some parts and I was out of there within 25 mins. He added a washer and new connection and I haven't add problems since. They easily could of kept the car, charged more in parts and lied about labor fees but I was in and out for $35 bucks! They always offer advance and explain what happened and how they fixed it. I will gladly drive the distance to them or pay the tow if need be. read more

My truck wouldn't start so I took it to DJs at 4 PM, had a new fuel pump installed and have it back by 3 PM the following day. I trust DJs because they use OEM original part replacements. Been working with cars for a while and luckily you don't come across this type of place too often. Just completely dishonest mechanics and service advisors trying to give you a shakedown. I accepted all recommended maintenance (which was at a much higher premium than dealer by the way) and my car runs exactly the same as it did when it first came into the shop. And still has a check engine light! Just completely unwilling to listen to the customer. Their approach was just to throw parts at the car and hope something stuck. I drive an H3 Hummer, It needed to get smogged and my check engine light was on. So I went on Yelp and found DJ Performance. I saw the ratings and made an appointment the same day. I took it to them in the morning and they finished it that same day ready for pickup in the afternoon. Reasonably priced and they fixed my issue so that it could pass my smog test. I need to drive it a few miles to reset the computer before i get the smog test. I hope to keep using these guys for all my Hummer repairs. Great first experience. read more

I called DJ's on Monday because my check engine light came on in the car, and it was starting to delay (for lack of a better description) at times when shifting. They inspected the car, found a minor item that needed cleaning that caused both the light and the delay, fixed it and test drove the car to double check everything. Ive only brought my car here once before, yet they took care of this for me right away and didnt charge me anything! i couldnt believe it. Everywhere else is minimum a billion dollars just for an inspection.... these guys clearly are honest and have my business forever! read more

I am so glad I found this shop. The owner Dell is a class act and really cares and takes pride in his work. These guys are honest and do quality work. We took my wife's car there first to get a 2nd opinion after another shop told us her car had a cracked head/block and had a bad drive shaft. They did a full diagnosis and found only a loose radiator cable. And the car runs perfect 2 years after another shop said it had a cracked block. The shop does all our service now for my wife's car. We take my SUV there for all required service. I got a rebuilt transmission, new brakes, repaired air conditioner, and tunes ups and the SUV runs solid. They also stand behind there work and rechecked my transmission after i discovered a problem shifting (no extra charges). They even paid to have it towed to be rechecked on the new transmission at their cost. They are the best kept secret in the South SJ/Almaden area. Thanks! read more

This place is great. I found these guys after taking my truck to three other shops to diagnose a mystery noise, all three shops found nothing and one even recommended driving it till something broke. When I arrived they threw it on the lift and in less than 5 minutes found a bad ball joint that was to blame. I have had them do work several times since then and had nothing but excellent service. Most recently I went for what was sure to be a several thousand dollar visit. After reviewing my options I asked Dell what he would do if it were his car. Even though he stood to hit me with about 4k worth of repairs (that I told him I would do if he thought it made sense) it was his recommendation to replace the vehicle. A friend recommended DJ's Performance and now I am recommending them to everyone! The team is great -- knowledgeable, easy to work with, honest, and fair. I took my Saturn Ion in because of a clunking sound and trouble starting. I also asked them to do a regular service. They quickly diagnosed the problems, called with an expected cost, and said that my car didn't need a regular service for another 6,000 miles or so. I couldn't believe it! I authorized them to fix the problems, and it was all done within a few hours. I will definitely take my car back in 6,000 miles for the next service, as well as for anything else that my cars need. read more

I have been to DJ's twice and both times I was referred elsewhere to save me money. Dell is incredible. I needed an oil change and he told me to go next door because they were cheaper. I've taken about 6 different cars of mine to DJ's over the last 6 years, and every time they've done a great job! Even though I didn't bring in a $100,000.00 car, they still treated it like one. They were fair on pricing and provided excellent service. The crew is polite and helpful and they do a great job communicating. They would always call me if they found a problem that wasn't visible at first, or if something changed, they provided the new cost for my approval first, and kept the damaged part to show me. I paid DJ's $1400 for a repair and they caused some other problem which caused the check engine light to come on - after 3 months and dropping the car off 9 times to correct the problem - they hadn't fixed it and I couldn't get a smog inspection on the car. I wouldn't recommend going to this repair facility at all. read more
