This local auto tech shop is excellent. I recently moved from the East Bay and have been in search of a great and humble Auto shop. I gave them a courtesy call to see if they were able to squeeze me in for a smog check since I'm a full-time mom and worker. Gurdeep was very kind and friendly and asked if I needed other maintenance done. That was very demure of him. I knew I needed maintenance but he said he would give me a call if he noticed any maintenance that IS require to prevent long term damage to my car. Their prices are FMV/better than most places. When you go to the place, it make look old but don't judge a book by its cover. The tech(s) were able to complete my smog, fluid change out, filters within a timely manner. Hello, The owner is nice the only thing he did was ordering a item for my car and get the payment upfront. If you don't have a item just ordered and tell the customer come when you have time. And also he asks pay upfront to order something for us. it doesn't even make sense. And calling 10 times and saying I am returning??? If I have time I will come and if I don't i will just do it with my next oil time u don't have to bother me 10 times to come and do it!!!!!! They didn't do what I asked them to do. I called them and spoke with them over the phone about the issue. I was super clear that I needed the shock shield addressed so I could access under the car for oil changes. #1 need was to have the shock shield fixed then the change completed. I set an appointment for a week out and even called again to confirm and restate that I needed the shock shield addressed then an oil change. They did the oil change but tell me "yeah, your shield is super warped and it's easy to fix. We just got to hammer it out. We didn't have time. We can do it next time." So basically, you just didn't do it and then want me to COME BACK to you. They were super cavalier about it too. Like- no big deal that we did not do what you needed but hey, your oil is changed. I gave a star because it was easy to schedule. I gave another star because I heard the mechanic discussing parts and logistics with another customer about their service so they are knowledgeable. For me- not doing what I set the appointment for is a huge deal and I won't be back. Especially when they say "it's super easy." Right...then Why didn't you do it and how is it my problem that "your super busy". I requested a specific service and they did half the job. That's not a place I want to go back to. read more

Gurdeep is one of those people who restores my faith in humanity. He is so kind, honest, knowledgeable and patient. He takes the time to answer all of my questions, going out of his way to help me better understand my vehicle. When he found some cracking on the drive belt, and I asked what a drive belt is and how serious the problem is, he went and pulled several old drive belts off a shelf, showing me various levels of damage and where mine fit on that spectrum. He ultimately advised me AGAINST fixing it, saying that it would last a while longer and could be fixed later. That's just one of many examples of how helpful and fair Gurdeep is. Very disappointed in the service I received. My car starter went out and I came here to have it replaced. He told me I had a 12 month warranty if anything happened. About 11 months in my car starter starts acting up. I bring the car in and he states the starter sounds perfect. He said if it goes out again record a video so I can send to the manufacturer and have it replaced. The starter goes out I come in with the video and he says oh this is definitely not the starter. I asked to leave my car for him to try and see what the issue is. He said no no I need the car to completely not turn on or I won't be able to fix it. This is a mechanic and since I am still under warranty just basically told me to go away. He got my number and said he would call me back. Well now the warranty is over and never got a call from him. So they'll be nice when they want your business but when it's their turn to follow up this is what happens read more

This is a great place for auto repairs. The office set up is kind of confusing because it is facing Winchester, and you need to take a right on Driftwood the side street to enter their work area. Don't get freaked out they are next to a dispensary and they are not smoking on the job and they have free WIFI to help ease your automotive worries. These guys do good work and they are open and Honest. I brought my car in under the assumption that I needed brakes and after my free break inspection they told me my breaks were fine and I didn't need new ones. I also needed an oil change so I had that done and some fluid flushes all for some really fair prices. Check them out while they are new and all is Good! read more

Come here piles of times over a pile of years as they are right to it with your issue and the solution and price in a friendly way and they do the job you agree on and you come back- drive off. I have not had them do big car repairs but a few smaller things that keep your car intact over time or are too inconvenient to not handle they take good care of efficiently as I noted and for fair going rates. All I wanted was an oil change. I thought, $20 bucks sounds cheap. Came here, and they kept on wanting me to purchase the $40 premium oil change. I am not interested. So the owner opened his book to see what kind oil is needed for my engine. If it's a certain size, then it's an extra ten bucks. Check my car, phew I can get the cheap oil. Came back to tell me that my last oil change I used synthetic oil, so i must purchase the $40 one. Fine, you spent 15 minutes already trying to upgrade me. All I wanted is a quick oil change. Got called out to my car, they wanted my to buy a new AC filter (extra $35) and clean my car battery (extra $25). I have never been more annoyed. Stop selling services that I can not afford at this time. I came here to save money but ended up paying more. Finally, they got the hint, and changed my oil. My bill came out to be $53 bucks, they were annoyed that I used my Discover card. Dude, don't have a picture up that you take discover, and get annoyed when people are paying with one!! Also, there is a hidden $5 fee for the oil filter. Personally, this is the most expensive oil change I have ever paid for. I do not plan on coming back. I've been to better places that have done everything for $25 bucks, and told me how to save money by changing certain things by myself. I have never been to a place where they spent more time figuring out how to charge me more, than the time that it takes to perform the actual service. read more

When all was said and done, the cost was approximately half of what the dealership quoted, and we discussed work that could be safely delayed or wasn't necessary based on the dealer recommendations. After completing the work, he even showed me all of the parts that needed to be replaced like they used to do. I will be back even if it's for regular maintenance such as oil changes. Unbelievable experience! We were heading up to San Jose from L.A. and about halfway up our engine light came on. We pushed on just trying to get to our destination making phone calls to all the Toyota dealers in San Jose. None of the dealers could look at our car the same day and 1 dealer said the diagnostic would be $175 and the other said $200 an hour! I wonder how many hours it would take? What a terrible business practice. I called Winchester auto tech and they said $80 to check it out and they could check it the same day. Wow! When we arrived they were very friendly and within 15 minutes he had diagnosed it and said the gas cap hadn't been tightened properly. He reset my engine light and there was no charge! We looked at each other and said "are you sure?" He said yes and said have a great vacation. He could have said anything knowing we were at his mercy being away from home. We are forever grateful! I've been here a couple times - once for an oil change and then a transmission fluid change. I called a different franchise shop and they would only tell me, "it'll cost between $120 and $190 depending on how many quarts it needs. We won't know until we look at it ". I hate ranges like that for such a routine service and this was from multiple employees who told me the same thing. I called Winchester Auto Tech and Gurdeep told me it'd be $120 - no price range, $120. I was surprised when he started asking some mileage questions, he was thinking I may not be due for a transmission fluid change. I went it, he checked it out and suggested I change it. I thought he was honest about everything and went into good detail about what services I may need next and offered suggestions without any sales pressure. It was done in about 45 minutes(other place said 2-4 hours) and Gurdeep showed me he used the Honda recommended ATF. I had no complaints and I'll be going to his shop for other services. read more
