I really dig Smart & Final for the most part. They carry a lot of different things & have a pretty good selection of things, as well of some cool revolving items that come in every now and again. 2 items I always come here for are, my 7 grain bread & Dole pineapple juice ;) Everything else is just a bonus. However, just like anywhere else, some of their items are not as cheap as other stores. My husband likes to come here for the meat. When he's in the mood for smoking, he'll stop in and get a pork shoulder or butt, and the beef brisket. I haven't been here in years, so when he said he was going, I tagged along. I walked up and down each isle, checking on the prices and the goods. Some items were priced about the same as other stores, but it was the quantity that was different, buying bulk is good when you are feeding family or planning a tailgate, but for the two of us, it isn't necessary. The store is clean and well organized, I must admit the quality of the meats are always good, but then again, my husband puts his mojo on it and it's never a disappointment! read more

This store is so poorly managed. They have this huge lane, for check out, that they block off, while making people pack in, like sardines, near the fresh chicken island. Why don't they just put spacing stickers, along the long, empty, lane. I just left, for the second time, in two days, because there was literally, 8/9 people, (that I could see. Line wrapped around, into frozen section.) PACKED! NOT EVEN two feet apart. Let alone, 6ft. An absolute joke. And they NEVER have enough cashiers. Like ever! Use common sense, people! If this is your solution, to social distancing, you need a new plan. Next time, I'll take a picture, and report you, to OSHA. read more

This is a stop for the things that you cannot get anywhere else nearby. Friendly employees, and quick checkout. So the 2-3 occasional items that Costco doesn't carry you get here. Unfortunately, they just don't provide the quality or value for everyday shopping. There is not really any healthier options in their selection. This is a shame because the store is empty of people and makes for a quick shopping experience. This is like what KMart is to WalMart. One of the things that they could do that would get them more business: Special Orders! They are unwilling to order in anything that is not on their schematics, but they have the supplier relationships, so this would give them an edge up on Costco. They carry Thrifty Ice Cream, but won't order in other flavors. I see this with many of the items that they carry - I would like alternatives, but they won't do it. I understand Costco not having the time or space for special orders, but this store... they have no customers. Do something to appeal to those that are coming on. read more

This store does not get it! If you go during non-peak times you should be ok, however if you need to shop during mid-day or on the weekend, they are the worst at allowing lines to accumulate when checking out / paying. They have no concept of 3's a crowd and do not open other cashier lanes until it is way too late. Two times I have simply left my full basket of goods in the store and walked out, as i was not going to wait in these long lines. Simple to walk across the parking lot and go to Smiths where they have self-checkout kiosks. No more Smart and Final as you have no clue that people do not want to wait in line to purchase their goods. I believe it is a GM communication and leadership issue in the they are not properly trained to know when to get more cashiers in place, in advance of the lines getting too long. read more

Buying groceries ranks in my least fave things to do, and thus, I haven't actually purchased food from Smart & Final. So, I can't report on the quality of the sustenance available here. It's bulk/discount buying without a membership card, so you don't have to make a commitment to hoarding more than you need. I usually end up here when I am looking for something random. Once, I showed up looking for Swedish Fish, and despite their serious candy aisle with sweets served up in convenience store bulk, there were no fish! Boo. On my last visit, however, they came through! They have an entire aisle of to go cups with lids and a slew of packaging options from baggies to paper bags and a large selection of food boxes. I even saw cardboard drink carriers! It's like a mini-restaurant supply shop, which can be handy when you are planning events. read more

I hit this place about once a week mostly to cherry pick the sales. Most recently I walked out with a 5 lb bag of oranges for $1.99 and a sleeve of elephant garlic (5 bulbs) for 89 cents. Can't really beat those prices. I wouldn't make a special trip to come here or anything but I stop in and grab a few things on my way to Sprouts where I do the bulk of my grocery shopping. Smart & Final carries lots of bulk items and doesn't require any kind of membership or loyalty card like most warehouses and grocery stores. It's a good place to go for party supplies like plates and cups or cleaning supplies. Anything you need to stock up on or use large quantities of. I use baking soda to clean everything so I go through those little boxes you find in the baking aisle really quickly. But I can pop in here and get a 4 lb box for a reasonable price, with no membership fee and no waiting in line. It's quick, easy and really convenient. Can't ask for much more than that. read more

The employees here go above and beyond. Quinton was very helpful. My friend and I were looking for black plastic plates. The store only had one in stock. Quinton went to see if they had some in the top storage. Unfortunately they did not but he tried to find us something similar. I really appreciated all the extra effort. Liza was also very kind. Stopped by to stock up on a few particular items for the culinary... not a bad idea either.. took advantage of a few sales and current promos. They were stocking shelves actively getting ready for the weekend. Produce was decent and plenty of fresh vegetables and fair prices. Cashiers were knowledgeable, patient, and courteous... even waited for me to grab an item I forgot, even pointed me in the right direction within the store... clean store, fair prices, I'm ready 4 the weekend!! read more

First time coming to this store and I wanted to sign up for a rewards/discount card (whatever they're called) and I asked the cashier Sean if I can sign up for one and he said "uh, I don't think we do that anymore", so I said "okay, then where do I sign up for one?" And he just simply ignored my question. So I was confused. He didn't even greet me when I came to his register, I said "hello" first. And I didn't get a "how are you doing today?" I don't know what the hell is up his ass but he need to learn how to have better customer service. Made me feel very unwelcome. And the customer that was after me even told him he needs to put a smile on his face. That's how moody he looked. The store is very organized. That's the good thing about it. But someone needs to put this Sean guy in check. read more

They may not have the best prices on everything, but they do have a few selective things at good prices. The store is always clean and the few employees that they have working, are always really nice. Today I bought a bunch of pumpkins to make pumpkin seeds. They were only $3 each (butter better then paying per pound which I don't need, cause I'm only using them for the seeds) I definitely like coming here on occasion . read more

Always have just one cashier. The cashier always seems to be new, due to the fact they dont seem to know their job. The job consists of scanning, giving change and being polite. The employees here seem to have a hard time with that. I wouldnt be suprised if there are new employees hired on a regular basis, they dont seem to be that smart. Kids stay in school, or end up at smart and final. read more

She went far to argue with me and when I was walking out she screamed at me by the door saying if any of the drinks fall down she won't replace them. Disgusting . Went in to buy one of their roasted chickens for dinner on 6/20/20. They looked a bit over done. I selected one that didn't look "over roasted". I proceeded to the check out line. OMG!! There were 7 customers ahead of me! Only 2 carts weren't filled to the top! It took 17 minutes to get thru the line!! Where was management for back up? Probably on a coffee break. The topper was the chicken at dinner. It was the most awful roasted I have ever had!! It was so over seasoned we could not eat it. Had to throw it away. Nothing like throwing away almost $8 for a dinner that could not be eaten! Of course they won't give a credit or return cue to the COVID issue. Then I looked at my receipt and learned they have a 7 day window for returns. Well, I won't be shopping at any Smart and Final anytime too soon. Perhaps never! I will continue to shop at my local Smith's as I have for many years. read more

The store was clean and the food was well priced. Once we went to go get in line though they only had one check out with a light on and no one there. As we walked past the other check outs to see if there was a self check out or if we could find someone to help they had two or three cashiers at each one cashier stand. Before we could ask anything they snapped "not open, we are training". So we go to the next and they snap, "also training here". So we explain that their was no one at the register with the light on and they say "yes there is". We walk back over and there STILL is no one there. Before we could just leave our stuff behind and walk out empty handed a cashier comes up and explains she was helping someone find something. She was apologetic and polite and her service and the prices/cleanliness are the only reasons I'm giving as many as two stars and willing to consider going back instead of sticking only to Winco and Smith's. I can't blame the trainees either as they were new and confused, but the ones doing the training need far more training in customer service themselves. read more

Good selection at this location. It's large enough to walk around & shop. Yet small enough to not be ginormous as Costco. I like the size of it. I found a large can of TANG there for $5.99. Great price! & paper towels. read more

I think there is good value in some offerings, such as large packages of Starbucks or other brand coffee and I like their house brand swiss and pepper jack cheeses. Other offerings are poor quality such as their house brand roasted mixed nuts which I threw away after eating a few nuts. read more
