Today was the first time I chose a pick up order. I made my order at4:45pm. My pick up time was for 6:30 pm. They sent a notification at 6:15. So I clicked on the "on my way" option. Arrived at 6:28pm and clicked "I am here." I called at 6:41 at spoke to someone that I was in the parking lot for a pick up. He said he would let someone know. At 6:55pm I walked in and spoke with a cashier and ask him about my order. He said they are putting it together right now. Finally, they delivered my order at 7:15. Never again. read more

I hope this gets to the right store as I know there are two in Corona. Yesterday, 9-3-24, I went to the store at Fullerton and Magnolia to get some ribs on special. They were out of them but one of your employees, Ivette, was so kind and took my number and said she would call as they were expecting a shipment in the afternoon. I wound up buying them at another S &F store. Imagine my surprise when Ivette called me today apologizing for not getting back to me but I guess the shipment had not arrived before she left work. She told me they were in stock but they would be the regular price, which was not an issue. My review is to let SOMEBODY know that she went above and beyond in her customer service. First offering to call me yesterday and still remembering to call me today. I was very impressed with her. She needs an "attaboy" in my opinion. She is an asset to the store/company. read more

Went back 8 days later after the corporate apology posted on my review. Again, I needed 5# cabbage mix and Mac salad (9#). As you can see, same issue. The store manager was ironically in this area of the store and apologized. She even knew my name from this post. She was nice but blamed it on her staff and named the produce manager specifically. The problem is that they order after the weekend and prior to the weekend. Business customers are 7 days a week and shouldn't have to battle for commodity items. Maybe another order day for just dairy & produce? FYI cabbage mix and Mac salad cartons have a pretty strong sell-by date. I've been shopping here since it opened as a second location in Corona, because it's closer to my home. Over all these years, I've notice somethings about shopping at Smart & Final. 1) their website - it has improved a little bit, but it is way behind the convenience of online shopping that you get on the Walmart or Sam's Club websites. If you don't describe the item with exactly correct wording, you cannot find the item on the website. It happens so often that I cannot find items that I KNOW they have just because my product description isn't perfect, and that can be very frustrating. Because I do a lot of shopping for large events, it's necessary for me to be able to create my grocery lists online, and Smart & Final is often not a shopping option for me any longer now that I can't find products online. 2) the pricing for many products is often missing in the store. This is frustrating, especially with respect to produce where prices can vary widely from store to store. I want to see the price of an item without having to find an associate to look it up for me. 3) this location seems to be out of items that are available at the other location in Corona, which results in having to make trips to two stores instead of one. The last time this happened at the Ontario Ave location, I asked a worker to call the Main St. location to determine if they had the items (very common items) before I drove over there - once again, the items were available at the Main St. location. 4) the prices at Smart & Final are not as good as they used to be (and I don't mean because of inflation - that hits every retailer). When I cater events, Smart & Final used to be a good alternative for items not available at the big box stores. However, I can now usually find similar items at Walmart or Winco at prices lower than Smart & Final. I find myself going to Smart & Final less often, and I'm sorry about that. read more

This location always has ton of parking so you don't have to worry about searching for some spots. Inside this store is always clean and well organized. They have some good prices on bulk items and some items are on the pricier side compared to other grocery stores. They have a wide selection of food and other items. I'm always greeted with a smile and a welcome and when checking out the service is great. I also like how close this store is to my place so if I ever need anything in a hurry or don't feel like driving far I can just come here. read more

The worst customer service, ever. Don't even try to order online because if you encounter a problem, good luck! You will end up canceling the order and you will find yourself ordering from another market. The store cannot help you. Overall I was a little disappointed in my experience here. have to tell you that I was less than impressed with the entire experience. As I parked and approached the entrance, I immediately noticed that there were carts and pieces of trash everywhere in front of the store. It looked as if no one had bothered to come outside and clean up for a very long time (keep in mind this was at 10:30AM). As I entered the store, i headed towards one of the aisles and immediately noticed how narrow the aisles are. There were so many side and end displays that it made it a little difficult to maneuver through the aisles, especially if there were more than a few people. Another customer made the comment that "these aisles are so cramped" as we passed by. I also noticed that the shelves appeared to be a little on the empty side which surprised me a little being the day after a new ad, as well as it being early in the morning. 4 of the 5 items I came into purchase were not available (not ad items), which was unfortunate as I would have to go to another location. The floors appeared to be a little on the dirty side as well. I passed a few employees who didn't bother to say hello either. I said good morning to a few of the employees that I passed, in which she just looked at me and carried on. Overall I was a little disappointed in my experience here, especially as I entered the checkout line. My checker did not bother to say hello or even acknowledge me other than telling me how much I owed. It's so sad to see how bad the customer service is at this location. Most likely a representation of the poor management i can assume. With so many local stores in the area, this will more than likely be the last time I visit this particular Smart & Final. read more

Yesterday was my first experience at Smart & Final, and I was honestly impressed. Not only was parking a breeze, but the isles were incredibly organized and fully stocked, which is a lot to say in mid-December. I stopped by for some holiday-party basics: snacks, utensils, wine, and sodas. Their selection easily covered these categories, as well as all other items on your grocery list. I also noticed that their wine is priced significantly cheaper than Bevmo and Target! While I was impressed by the selection of goods, what really stood out was the customer service. From first entering I received a friendly hello, as well as several offers of assistance throughout the store. Unlike most shopping experiences that are a hassle during the holiday season, I was in and out within ten minutes which I definitely appreciated! read more

I am giving this Smart & Final location one star, but I wish I could give zero. I began to regularly shop at this location when they built it near my home. I continued to go, despite bad experiences, because it was close and convenient. However, I have had enough shopping here. It has finally crossed a line. There is one specific employee that has continuously given me disgusting attitude and irresponsible customer service. (She has red hair that is shaved on the side, and her name starts with an S, but I can't recall it exactly because it's an odd name...) Watch out for her fellow shoppers! I am warning you.. not only does she have a massive attitude problem (even when you ask very simple questions), but she also has repulsive tendencies. One experience I had: she licked her fingers clean of chip dust, and then continued to touch my groceries and the conveyer belt, then licked her fingers again before checking me out and grabbing my bags... Moral of the story is I've had multiple bad encounters with her, too many to even list, and I refrain from sharing all of them out of concern for her. I just wanted to share my concerns, and state that having her as the representation of the store and as one of the main cashiers that I see as I shop "everyday" is not a good way to bring in consistent customers! I hope that woman gets a reality check from Smart & Final on the expectations of normal customer service and a friendly environment. read more

I shop here regularly. The store is always clean and easy to shop aisle by aisle. The employees here are very friendly most of the time and welcome me in if they're not too busy. Only issue is there is normally only one check stand open, but they are very efficient calling other employees up. It's fresh and affordable produce, meat, and more. I will be back. read more

We are all struggling through this virus crisis. People in general have been relatively nice, but the cashiers at this smart and final have been very kind and patient. I appreciate that they are working through this craziness and remind my fellow humans that we are in this together. Please be kind to those who are working to keep our fridges and pantries stocked. They are working 12 - 16 hr shifts, on their feet and away from their families. Being demanding, difficult or disrespectful will not make matters easier for anyone. I was minding my own business cruising down Ontario, and I saw something flapping within my peripheral vision on the left side of the street.....Alas! The Smart & Final Extra has finally (albeit quickly) opened! (insert song Goodness gracious great balls of fire! here). I was so excited I yelled out to my husband who was driving "Stop the Car!" Just like the funny lady from the Ikea commercial lol. We walked up and were greeted with smiles and offered a shiny new basket. Once inside, I was impressed at the flow and ease that the staff seem to have. There was plenty of extra staff on hand ready to help anyone in need. The aisles were fully stocked of course, and very organized. I love the fact that they have a Bulk items section where you can bag the amount of food and goodies that your heart desires! I am SO glad that Smart & Final Extra is closer to me, and saves me the hassle of driving a few extra miles down the fwy. Hi, I go to the Smart & Final Extra on the corner of Fullerton and Ontario Blvd. in Corona. They are all awesome there. Their store is super clean, nice employee's who are always smiling and helping me out to find something or get something off the top shelf for me. Our church ministry shops there for cleaning products for us to clean the church and I go personally because my little terrier mix loves the roasted chicken they cook there. For the price of the chicken which is great, you get a chicken that looks like a baby turkey. No complaints read more

Pro tip: Go here if you need ripe bananas to make banana bread!! This store sells their ripe bananas (called "red band bananas" because there's a red band around it) at a discount (38 cents/lb). This is the only grocery store I've found that does this which I think is great because not only does it allow me to make banana bread on a whim instead of having to wait several days for my bananas to ripen, it also prevents food waste which is a huge problem in the US. ! I also go here to get the 3 pack of Martinelli which is around $6-7 (1 bottle alone at Vons is $3-4) This place is great if you want to buy in bulk as well. They offer both single and bulk options, no membership or club card needed. Prices are competitive and the workers here are all so nice, especially the manager who actually paid for my groceries with his own money once (literally saw him take out his wallet to get cash out) when their computer system was malfunctioning and not accepting cards. Albeit it was only $2.49 but still! What worker do you know that will use their own money to pay for your groceries?! Never any long lines and I love that they name each register lane after well known streets in Corona. I usually always get a certain young man as my cashier who's always nice and conversational with me. I would definitely be giving this store 5 stars if it wasn't for one thing: the meat and cheese aren't always the freshest. Once I found cheese that had mold on it, and the sandwich meat wasn't great, so I just stick to the non dairy and meat items. The fresh produce is always great though! A guy named Erick in the produce department is the most disrespectful person have ever encountered. I was looking at the corn opening up the top of the corn husk to check if it was good you do this if ever found bugs in your corn or bad corn. keep in mind there was someone next to me doing the same thing and this guy thought it would be a good idea to start yelling at me stop peeling the corn. When I explain to him that that's not what I was doing he continued on being a disrespectful little punk. I think he's got some emotional problems there is something seriously wrong with that dude. There's a cashier named Dina that I've encountered on two separate occasions who I am 100% certain is a RACIST! Today, I went shopping there for a few ad items and she was extremely rude and condescending towards me. She called me to her line only to make me wait for her to take a sweet time helping the customer in front of me (who was white), which I know she did intentionally. When it was my turn to be serviced, she didn't apologize for making me wait, didn't say hello, and didn't ask me if I found everything ok. My experience has been the same at both.. friendly, knowledgeable employees who always ask if I'm finding everything ok. This is normally my favorite store. But, today was very heartbreaking. I, like everyone in America was searching for toilet paper, milk, eggs, and water as a result of the Corona Virus. I stopped at the milk cooler to buy two gallons of whole milk. There was none on the shelf but, I could see several gallons and cases of eggs in the freezer room. I asked a worker for two gallons of milk and he says "no, those gallons are reserved for us." I asked who is us and he says "the employees." There were other customers asking for milk too. They eventually walked off but, I loudly began to complain that the employees can't reserve merchandise for themselves and tell customers that they are out of milk. He eventually retrieved me two gallons of milk. I then asked for toilet paper and he said "oh no, that's definately for us." I went to the front and complained to the assistant manager. She said "we are not reserving milk for employees." I said yes you are because your cooler worker says you are and if you are not, then take all those gallons of milk in the back of the cooler room and stock them for purchase. I said he also said the employees have toilet paper for themselves in the back and stated that Smart and Final workers have not had tissue at home for 4 to 5 days. When I introduced myself to her as a Gov't official and explained that I will be complaining and reporting the employees she said, well I have associates that hasn't had toilet paper in 4 or 5 days. She said I paid for my tissue that's in the back. I said me and other customers haven't had tissue either. I explained that there is a difference in buying merchandise and reserving merchandise for employees. Then the cooler guy arrives and stands next to me in line...He said "I helped you and now you are going to get me in trouble?" I said yes because you guys should not be holding or reserving items for yourselves that the public is searching for and can't find while this Corona Virus is spreading. Several angry employees approached the front and one began to yell and ask why I want to file a complaint. I felt threatened by the time I departed the store. I promised to formally complain to their Corporate Office, Yelp and to the media. I wonder if they are paying for the items; Are they limited to two items like the public? This store and employees need to be investigated. The cameras need to be checked to see what is being purchased and what is being placed in the employees' vehicles.
