They sold bags, now they won't use them?!?
Sam G.

It makes me angry how businesses took away sooo much during COVID and now still won't return to normal! The state makes us use these STUPID reusable bags, but the cashiers won't bag our groceries because they are afraid of them! Is it that dangerous to bag groceries for customers? When will we ever return to some sort of normal? Smart and Final is using COVID as an excuse to provide mediocre customer service! Also, they had very few staff on the floor to help me find things. When I did find someone, they seemed helpful, but clueless.

Like most smart and finals they do have some bulk items but this one doesn't have the bulk nuts. The prices are good on some items and high on others. Its a great place is your having a party and need supplies. The do have alcohol too. I've been able to find what I've been looking for most times and they do change food idem's at times. Parking is easy to find too

So the first Time i called I was on hold for 14 minutes. I was just asking for an inventory check on 16 oz mason jars, the second time I called I was hung up on. Worst customer service ever

St. Patrick's Day is upon us, so that means one thing... Pickles! Every year we have a pickle sale at school. Along with a "Wear Green" Spirit Day, a Homeroom Competition, and a Musical Chairs lunchtime activity, ASB sells these outlandishly large dill pickles for 50 cents. If you're wearing green, you get one for a quarter. I only bought four containers ( http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=xGCNwbHrXWAKDFYzESLKqw&userid=EGz1NDtgVbndCJ5R3F-stw ), but--as with every year--we sold out anyway. Smart & Final ( http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=7kYqfsECVbpjiAhnCMHeWw&userid=EGz1NDtgVbndCJ5R3F-stw )--no matter the location--has always been my go-to when I have an ASB shopping list: * Evening Dances. Instead of pizza, I roll out the BBQ and cook up some dogs. Paired with your standard condiments, the kids may eat all they want. And at Smart & Final's price ( http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=PmPDKA4xDmEpMGirwp0d6w&userid=EGz1NDtgVbndCJ5R3F-stw ), I can feed many while still keeping under budget. * Evening and After School Dances. I pick up a few of those big, plastic Red Vines jugs. Always a crowd pleaser: http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=2BxMU7kW8_Cj3C5sfnSHBg&userid=EGz1NDtgVbndCJ5R3F-stw . S&F also has powdered juice mix and large, orange dispenser coolers. Easy self-serve for punch! * Homeroom Competitions. When we decide to have a Spirit Day, we either have homerooms compete against each other for rewards, or we group up homerooms--calling them "College Quads" with names such as UCLA, USC, UCI, Stanford, etc.--and have them compete that way. Using quads kind of pushes teachers who don't ordinarly participate to get involved. The prize?: Ice creams and/or popsicles: http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=NbZ5wLp6vg1K8D6OKM6PGA&userid=EGz1NDtgVbndCJ5R3F-stw , http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=MFm2AsyzdMN9zdCIbEaQXg&userid=EGz1NDtgVbndCJ5R3F-stw . * Donut Fishing. This is a fun lunchtime activity. We tie some string to the end of a meter stick (the fishing pole and line), and then we tie a large powdered donut to the end (the bait). A separate student is blindfolded and sits in a chair (the fish) while his or her partner (fisher) swings the powdered donut toward the other's open mouth. Whoever eats the donut entirely first--or at least gets it loose enough to drop to the ground--wins. Journalism and Yearbook staff, get ready! On a side note, this Smart & Final location just underwent some construction. They now have a brand new produce section: http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=sKmqSREtnOYlIa20rPBWsw&userid=EGz1NDtgVbndCJ5R3F-stw . It actually looks pretty nice. To me, it seems that S&F is trying to re-produce the feeling of shopping in a regular grocery store, rather than a buy-in-bulk-only store. You no longer need a membership card to shop here. And it's also very simple to pay for items using a school check. List complete!

Very clean place. Products are good, but prices are a bit above average, I think. Staff has been helpful.

I usually shop at Amazon Fresh because there's no line, it's less crowded and I can ring myself up or have the robot shopping cart do it and be on my way. This Sprouts is equally a pleasant shopping experience. Normally if I get coffee, I'd order from Klatch using their app then pick it up in store and be on my way, but the last two times I needed groceries and decided to get them here since I picked up my coffee here and to save me a trip to Amazon Fresh. After picking up my coffee, I was looking at my phone at a TikTok for ingredients and an employee walked up concerned and asked me if everything was ok since I was kind of hovering by the end of the aisle. I let her know I was ok and that I was just looking down at my phone, I wasn't sad and we had a chuckle. Once I figured out what I needed I turned down the pasta aisle and another one of the employees was going down that aisle at the same time and greeted me and asked if I found everything ok and I said, yes, thank you! I was honestly there for about 15 minutes and it felt like everyone was making sure I was ok and that's the other reason why I would shop here over Amazon Fresh. I was told by this couple that I know that shops here religiously that they have very good deals on Tuesday? Something about checking the ends of the aisles or you can find deeply discounted items here. Parking here can get a little crazy and nowt hey have Tesla chargers at the end of the lot so it's a little busier with that traffic, but I've always been able to find a good parking spot. It's nowhere near as bad as Costco and Amazon Fresh across the street.

I love this little market. At first I was skeptical because I've been to a few mom-and-pop markets…read morewhere the food will go bad within the same week. However not here! The food lasted me the whole month and their prices are very reasonable. It also helps that most of it is prepackaged and priced so just don't have to go through the hassle of weighing it out with a toddler and newborn. They also allow you to get any amount of formula, no max like the grocery store does. So that means I can get everything I need in 1 trip rather than 2-3 trips to get all the formula. They also let you pay the remaining balance in cash/card which is helpful if you go over a bit. They also not only bag and put everything on a cart for you but they also push the cart out to your car and help you load. This is extremely helpful as I said I have two younglings to wrangle, which is usually a pain in the butt at normal grocery stores. Their parking lot isn't that big because they share with other businesses and a WIC office but it's better than no parking or having to pay for it. I really appreciate the workers too. They were so kind to me the first time and I was able to get as much as possible for my family. I live in Whittier but I make the drive down here because the fruit and vegetables are high quality. They also have large portions, I got huge pomegranate, dragon fruit and Asian pears that were massive and delicious compared to other grocers. I would recommend them to everyone!!!
