This is my go-to store for any party/gathering needs. Their produce n herbs are always fresh. Their cheeses generally fully stocked and they have a good selection of the fancy schmacy cheeses. They have frozen meals with vegetarian options. Their meats fully stocked with the exception of sale days of course. They have great, great, great sales. Their pastries n dessert tables have different options, my mom loves their black n white shortbread cookies. They have a great selection of juices n frozen fruits for purees for cocktails, if not just grab a bottle of one of their purees or mixers. There liqour, beer, wine selection is awesome n they usually have their handles of Jameson for $41. The staff is always friendly n helpful, they have been restocking n cleaning constantly. Brenda has been my cashier the last 2 times n even underneath her mask u can see her smile when she greets me. There's also another employee (a taller gentleman with glasses n shaved head) he is attentive, cracks jokes n just a kind human being. There store is clearly marked for social distancing to keep us customers safe. They have disposable mask n hand sanitizer, ready for u to purchase at the cash wrap. If I could give this 0 stars, I would. The cashier, Daniel, has no customer service whatsoever ever. Made me feel like I was a burden because I no longer wanted an item. He was very condescending towards me cause I didn't need a bag. He didn't bother telling me my total and just stood there looking at me.l as if I'm a mind reader. He left the receipt on the table and didn't bother scooting my items over and I had to reach over to him to grab them myself as he watched on. No thank you, nothing. It makes me angry how businesses took away sooo much during COVID and now still won't return to normal! The state makes us use these STUPID reusable bags, but the cashiers won't bag our groceries because they are afraid of them! Is it that dangerous to bag groceries for customers? Smart n final has great prices. I usually come here for work potlucks. I like the size of the frozen goods. I'll usually buy from the breakfast isle and the Starbucks glass coffees come in a big bulk. But most of all my favorite item I buy here are the mini waters. The only store that sells mini waters in a big case one small bottle fits in my back pocket for work. read more

Very displeased with the customer service experience I have received at this location. I tried to purchase 4 items which I had coupons for and was denied to use all of them for my transaction. I have never had this issue before at any smart and final when doing an identical transaction. Nor does the coupon indicate one coupon per transaction. It is disheartening to write a review in a negative narrative but the store manager was rude. read more

Like most smart and finals they do have some bulk items but this one doesn't have the bulk nuts. The prices are good on some items and high on others. Its a great place is your having a party and need supplies. The do have alcohol too. I've been able to find what I've been looking for most times and they do change food idem's at times. Worst shopping experience ever I have ever had in my life. I came to visit this store based on a recommendation of a business partner and I was met with discrimination from the manager, Marc Dionio. As I do catering for events I need alcohol and I found a great price on Sauza Gold: however, before I could leave with some plastic ware I was met by Marc and he simply stated that he would not allow me to buy the alcohol. He later tried to intimidate me by saying he was going to call the police even though I had my ID and was of age as well as tried to emasculate by saying I was a small man. This post has to do with their beer displays. They always have beer stacked on the floor in front of their refrigerated beer. Its 2 stacks high. Therefore I am never able to grab beer from their top shelf without having to move their display. Today I was not able to move the display myself due to my bad hands so I asked for help twice and no one ever came. I gave up went to pay for the rest of my merchandise and explained to the cashier what happened and he says I've been telling them that but they still continue to do it. Unfortunately he didn't offer to go get my beer. Maybe the universe is trying to speak to me and tell me not to drink. I visited Smart & Final because overall the stores are pretty much the same and I really like the First Street brand and their products are reasonably priced. But this location is probably the most inconvenient when it comes to the area, traffic and parking. While the store was fine itself, it's clean and mostly stickers it's very small and they are deeply understaffed which is understandable given the hiring situation however, they have no system or setup when it comes to having people form any line for any cashier, there were only two lanes open and several lines with no room to go around and no order or waiting like the other stores and it's basically a free for all when a new lane opens up, they take whoever runs up first from any line rather than the people who have been in line for some time. Also the app is garbage, there are things on sale that require digital coupons and there's no explanation of how to use the coupons and on their website it isn't compatible nor does it give and instructions so if you want to save then download the app first then scan the barcode because it doesn't clip coupons or apply them automatically like Ralphs does. Ivan the manager at the front was awesome, friendly and helpful but sadly with their system in place of total un-organization at the front it takes way too much time to get out of there and the area like I said has major traffic on the main street so sadly I want to avoid this store unless they improve the checkout system. read more

Disappointed that there is no curbside pickup. When I order online through the website I can get some of the items I want but the delivery charges came up to almost $12, when I try to order through InstaCart most of the items weren't available. We have been here a handful of times and the store is always clean, well stocked and easy to navigate. The one drawback is they often leave stock carts abandoned in the aisles which makes it one way traffic and during COVID Funtime that makes it a little annoying. Rowena is extremely rude and unprofessional. Why do you have employees that hate their job and are miserable while doing it? It makes you not want to return to your store. She argued with me about some chicken that was on sale. I grabbed five packs. She began by yelling at me that there was a limit of four packs. She left the register without saying anything about where she was going, came back with a paper and said "well it's right there in the ad that there's a limit". OK well I didn't look at the ad before I decided to come into the grocery store to do my grocery shopping. I didn't know that that was a requirement. I told her that was fine that I would pay for the fifth pack separately after I finish this first transaction. I told her there was no sign by the chicken display case that said there was a limit.. And again she began to yell at me about how there's a shortage of chicken and that's why they couldn't scan more than four per customer. OK well if there's a shortage of chicken why does the grocery chain have it on sale? So I asked her then is that a no, she wouldn't let me pay for that pack separate? She then told me she would only do it this one time but because of the shortage of chicken she's not supposed to do that. She scanned my stuff, threw it to the side & threw two bags at me when I asked for two bags, and she threw my receipt at me. The guy behind me even said hi to her about four times and it wasn't until about the fifth time he said hi to her she finally acknowledged him. From beginning to end she was just nasty and rude. I've been coming here for two years now & I have found every cashier to be pleasant and helpful. Last week I bought a case of eggs & was really disappointed when they appeared a little cloudy but I went ahead and scrambled them any way. I took one bite and knew something was terribly wrong. I put the plate to my nose and these eggs were actually so rotten, they smelled like fish. This actually wasn't the worst part of the story, when I returned them there was a less than pleasant cashier who's check stand I was unfortunate to fall in to that day. "Rowena" was completely insensitive about my concern, questioned me on how i stored them and if I wasn't just "mistaken" She acted like it was her 5.00 dollars I came back for. I wanted to warm someone that they may have put expired eggs on the shelf and don't you think it would have been easier for me to just let it go instead of driving the 5 miles from my house to the store and back not to mention wait in a 10 minute line? Came back for the first time in about a year. Nothing really worth returning for. It was a Monday afternoon and there were people stocking the shelves with ALL their carts. One asile was completely blocked. Then the lines...there were literally 25 people waiting for two cashiers. And almost everyone waiting had huge full carts to pay for. It took about 10 minutes for the lady to call for help, and probably another 10 minutes for someone to actually appear. The cashiers deliberately go as slowly as they possibly can. The lady ahead of me, with a very full cart, probably took 10 minutes by herself. This location was at least decent enough before. Now they aren't even pretending to take their jobs seriously. I only had 2 items. They could at least install a self checkout for small orders like mine. Anyway, there's no reason to come back for anything. read more

No matter what time of day you go, the line is at least ten-fifteen minutes and half a dozen customers long with only one or two cashiers working. I've gone on weekends, weekdays, mornings, afternoons, nights; ALWAYS a long line and no one to help. If they are understaffed they've done a TERRIBLE job fixing that issue, which makes this store unusable unless you have 30 free minutes. I have with no exaggeration driven to another grocery store, gotten my items, and come back to check and the line was still there. Very hit or miss. This place has some stuff that are at steal prices. They have other stuff that are at rob you prices. They have tons of bulk items. Almost like Sam's club but not nearly as big of a selection. The prices on wine and candy were outrageous. The price on frozen seafood was really expensive on some items and fantastic on others. I have to assume that they have a weekly paper and I found the specials. Detergent prices were outlandish. Frozen entrees were at good prices though. Overall - i was not impressed. Not as cheap as Several of the other places I have reviewed and no where near the quality of the nice places i have mentioned. Cheap being 99 Ranch and nice being places like Whole Foods. I might stop here in the future if I am already driving through their parking lot for something else - but I have a hard time seeing myself traveling here just to visit this store. read more

Right after I walked in the door, this location of Smart & Final had onions on sale at 5 lbs for $1. That's a better price than even Ralph's has right now at 2 lbs for $1. I especially came here to pick up a jumbo Jet Dry, but found they only had the extra large 150 loads size. I was looking for the 300 loads size, but what I found on sale here will do. After being on the road for an hour coming home from work, I was also looking to use the restroom here. It was being hidden by the racks of discount items near the back of the store. Cleanliness here in the Women's restroom is an absolute joke. I've visited restrooms in gas stations in the middle of no where cleaner than this place. How dare they have a restroom check sign off sheet upon the door. They're just signing it and not cleaning anything. Other than that, this store has lots of square footage so you're not bumping into people all the time while shopping. They also seem to have a larger drinks section than most. Beer, sports drinks, juice, soda, bottled water, etc. They were good about calling another checker up when the lines became 4-5 customers deep. When one goes to buy food to feed the homeless with, there is a certain level of excellence that is expected from a store and which I unfortunately did not receive. On December 3, 2014, a fellow Servite brother and I made our way to the Smart and Final on Euclid to buy enough food to feed eighty people with. We were left with service and products that were far too diminutive for satisfaction. The store appeared clean and there were some store employees that seemed to care about their jobs. However, as my Servite brother and I made it to the back of the store, we were greeted by dented cans, produce that I think would be better thrown-out than cooked and poor service The first item that we found on our list was tubs of tomato sauce (for Her Servants' Kitchen this week, the meal was penne pasta in a bolognese sauce with a small Italian salad with garlic bread). These tubs were almost all dented and the crate they came in seemed to be handled with little care. Optimistically we thought that it was only the first item that we found, it couldn't get worse, right? As we continued shopping we searched for produce. Produce is a tricky thing because of how fast it can spoil, but that is still no excuse to have bad produce on the shelves. Those shelves are where I found brown onions, and after around ten minutes of examining every one, found six that were quasi-suitable for cooking. I just hoped that in caramelizing their blemishes would get cooked out. Having bagged up the onions and having drudged the dented cans, we finally went to the cash register. After about five minutes of distractedly ringing up our exiguous findings, I handed our cashier the money. I had previously counted the money to one-hundred-thirty-six dollars, the stack having been composed of one twenty dollar bill, six ten dollar bills, six five dollar bills, seventeen one dollar bills, six stacks of four quarters each and two dollar coins. Despite this accounting, I was told there was only one-hundred-thirty-three dollars and that I had miscounted. I knew I hadn't, but I was too peeved to care about three dollars, so I paid an extra three bucks. Having to survive the dented tubs, the rotten produce, and the service destroyed my mood and the reputation of Smart and Final to me. Keeping a store with good products was not a priority for this location. Moving forward, I think that I will be taking to Costco and leaving Smart and Final, as they ruined their final chance of my business. read more
