Right away I noticed an attitude when I called him "sir." I apologized but this how I was raised to speak to someone older than my self. He was not the friendliest. While my husband explained the problem and what we had already tried Mr. Reece continued to do all of the things already done. He then put on a pressurized cap to try and blow the clog through, also already done. With no avail the cap blew and broke a window. He then tried to snake the pipe, this didn't work either and he took the snake and laid it on the carpet to put it away. Leaving stains and the smelly stuff that was in the pipe all over that I couldn't even shampoo out. He ended up having to cut the pipe out. Even after all that we had no answers as to what the stuff was or how to prevent it from happening again. After 2 months I received the bill. There was no adjustment for window or even I am sorry, send me a repair estimate to settle this up. So I called, was very polite and got an attitude in return. He was not willing to do anything stating that my husband said it was fine. A broken window was fine, ok. After I told him I would discuss it with my husband he said maybe he would take $20 off, again rude and rash. After a broken window and the mess that stunk and damaged carpet I would give 0 stars if I could.

Mark of Mountain View Plumbing gave me a quote based on labor/time for each of these. He's the owner/operator...something I like to support when I can. We scheduled for 9am, he called as he was arriving EARLY! Two hours and both problems fixed with parts I had bought to do it myself. He even fixed my tub/shower diverter stem I was starting to have issues with. We discussed a few hacks to get some more life out of the toilet as hard water is doing what it does. I then asked about my kitchen sink/drain and he verified that I can get RO and a disposal into that space. Now I just need to budget! As for his hourly rate, it is totally fine for skilled and licensed labor. He didn't nickel and dime for the little things he used (tape, etc). I appreciate that. I also know as a former business owner, he's covering travel costs, insurances, taxes, etc. with that rate. I will be using him for more projects as my own budget permits.
