If you're in Auburn, AL, and craving some of the most mouthwatering sliders around, look no further than Smalls Sliders! This hidden gem takes fast food to the next level with their perfectly crafted mini burgers that are bursting with flavor. The buns are soft, the patties are juicy and cooked to perfection, and every bite is a perfect balance of savory goodness. Also, that smalls sauce had me singing! These do not taste like a typical fast food burger! Their fries? Simply irresistible--crispy, golden, and the perfect complement to the sliders. I had a 15 minute drive back home and these things were still crispy! Not to mention, the vibe at Smalls is always welcoming, with friendly staff that makes you feel right at home. Once you try it, you'll be coming back for more!

We came Valentine's Day weekend from Columbus, GA after attending mass. He really wanted to take me here and I'm so glad he did. We had the bread and butter which was to die for! I think they gave us too much butter over bread ratio, but l'm not complaining haha. So warm, soft, fluffy and delish the bread was. I don't think we talked much when we had our wagyu steak main course cause it was so good, we couldn't say a word to each other. The pepper sauce with the perfectly cooked medium rare steak (which came cut in two pieces, which is a really genius move to serve steak by the way), with white asparagus, caramelized onion, rose petals, and just pure deliciousness. Literally chef's kiss. We also couldn't make up our mind about desserts cause they had a Valentine's dessert menu and the couple sitting next to us also recommended the cookies and milk. Yeah- I'm really lucky and very spoiled. Definitely hit a sugar high, but absolutely worth it. Servers and greeters were also all so kind and attentive. Definitely recommend :) I think this is the nicest dinner anyone has ever treated me to. Thanks for my amazing boyfriend- I'm so grateful.

We were promptly seated when we arrived. Our group decided to sit outside and we enjoyed it. The inside ambiance is also very nice. Staff were great. They quickly took our drink orders and came back with our drinks shortly after. We ordered the sampler plate, bread and fries as appetizer which were delicious. Our main dishes all come out together, which was amazing since it was a group of twelve. Everyone enjoyed their food. We also got the cookies and milk for dessert which they brought out with a happy birthday and congrats sign to finish off our celebration. Again the service was great. They made the celebration feel really good.

Our attendant was Faith - she took very good care of us. We enjoyed talking with her. We give her A++ for doing a great job. Also compliment the young man who cleaned and set up tables AND made sure we had a full glass of water. He said it was his third day on job and he did a wonderful job for being "new". The ambiance was very nice - every person we talked with was very friendly and pleasant. The restaurant was full but the service went smooth. This was our second visit and we plan to come again.

I believe it effected some of the flavors of foods that were boiled in it, too. Gnocchi had some of the same off flavor. In addition, some of the flavors just feel way out of whack for totally unrelated reasons. Sauce that the duck came in was thin and overwhelmed by honey. The risotto it was served with seems like it should be rich and homey. But despite a crazy amount of added dairy still tasted thin and flat. Can't tell you why. Wonky seasoning? None of the dishes reflected any familiarity with acid to lighten or balance a dish. Fried green tomatoes were pretty mid despite a quality remoulade and a bunch of pimento cheese. Ingredients seem like they're decent quality. Desserts are legitimately top notch. Everyone recommends the peanut butter pie. And it is excellent, though pretty obviously not long out of the freezer. The affogato Is legitimately fantastic. And I'm not even talking about the pageantry of dumping the espresso on the salt ice cream. The combo is legitimately satisfying, like a well-rounded creamy candy. The plates are funky and cool and beautiful. The staff all seem like they're 19, attractive, and gregarious.

There's a particular kind of joy in feeding your college kid something that didn't come from a…read moredrive-thru window or a dining hall steam tray--and this place delivers that joy in butter, spice, and just the right amount of indulgence. Tucked into Auburn's dining scene with an upscale-casual pub charm, it's become our daughter's favorite spot to "take us" when we visit--which tells you everything you need to know. After a semester fueled by ramen and an alarming quantity of Chick-fil-A, she heads straight for the spicy penne crowned with perfectly cooked filet medallions. A wise choice. They don't take reservations, and yes, you may linger outside awhile on a busy night. Stay. It's worth it. For those of us with Gulf Coast roots, the menu reads like a love letter: blackened catfish done right, crispy crawfish tails, and cheese-laced grits that feel like a warm welcome home. The fried green tomatoes are a standout--golden, crisp, topped with grilled shrimp, and finished with a balsamic glaze that somehow works beautifully, even if it strays from tradition. The shrimp and grits, the catfish, the pasta--all hits. Cheesecake for dessert, especially if you're loyal to a graham cracker crust, is non-negotiable. Dim, cozy, a little whimsical (don't skip art in the hallway to the bathroom), and staffed by people who seem genuinely happy you're there. We'll be back. Often. --Chance & Becky *All Ahead Slow*

A friend & I got to drop in for lunch, and it did not disappoint. The decor hasn't changed much - it's still comfortable & clean. There's free parking in the front & sides of the building. Once again it was our annual LSU women's basketball game pilgrimage so Gary, Garrett and I piled…read moreinto Paul's truck and we headed down to Auburn on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Garrett suggested Amsterdam for lunch. Located near the Auburn campus, Amsterdam is one of more well known eateries off campus. Students may not have eaten at Amsterdam, but most can point you in the right direction. I've been tricked by appearances before but Amsterdam is in a category of its own. There's a front and a back part of the building. But I didn't know that until we were led to our table in the back. The front part is a typical "smallish" restaurant with tight booths and tables. The decorations of impressionist painters adorn the walls giving the front dining room a warm inviting feel. When we were led to our table, I thought I was being led to the restrooms. We actually went past the restrooms down a small flight of stairs and into another large room. This beautiful back room was oozing the "hidden wine cellar" vibe throughout. There were tables and chairs in the center with smaller tables and chairs lining one wall and booths on another. Then there's a large full service bar lining the 3rd wall and a workstation on the 4th wall. The ceiling with hanging panels of wood moved the light beautifully and impressed me. There was also a large floor to ceiling wine rack next to our 4 top. Gary tried their Omelet. Three eggs served with conecuh sausage, bacon, onions, peppers, cheddar cheese, and potatoes. With the sourdough toast, the plating was immaculate. I didn't get to taste it, but Gary didn't have any deiicions/ Garrett opted for their Brunch special: Apple & Pecan Freeman toast. When it arrived to our table, we immediately noticed the large slices of French toast. As promised, the French toast was topped with slices of peaches and apples and butter brown sugar with white powder sugar as well. Again I didn't get to taste, but I savored it with my eye. Paul and I tried the Amsterdam Burger. He got some fries as his side, but I upgraded my side to a beautifully plated side salad. With the added fried egg, my patty was grilled to a perfect medium with just a hint of pink. Stacked with it was some lettuce, caramelized onions, applewood bacon, spicy pickles, tomato and their traditional burger sauce all squeezed together between 2 bun halves, it has to be stabbed with a long food pick to hold it together. It was juicy, tasty and just Yom Yom Yom Yom. Our server was attentive and checked on us frequently. Other notable menu items include fried brussels, lobster egg rolls, rum salmon, breakfast croissant, snickerdoodle pancakes, steak & eggs, egg white omelet and shrimp & grits. I was told their Crab Cake & Avocado is to die for. Meal prices are on the high end but Amsterdam understands how to elevate Southern comfort food.
