I had been waiting to add a review of Smallcakes in hopes of working out issues regarding our daughter's wedding cake. We actually had a wonderful experience during the planning stage so I did not expect anything less than a wonderful experience however the disappointment happened on the day of the wedding and it was so not what I expected. The week of the wedding I was asked to change the time of the cake arrival after changing it previously. However, the venue was kind enough to change it for us. When that special day came, I arrived at the church early to meet the cake maker. After about 15 minutes I called Smallcakes and the phone was deliberately taken off the hook until the cake maker was on her way 45 minutes later with the cake. Our morning was now backed logged by 45 minutes. No one called me to let me know that the cake would arrive late so I had to leave and ask the venue to inconvenience themselves and have some meet the cake maker later. Once the wedding was over and I arrived at the reception I could not believe the quality of the cake. I am so glad that Oh LaLa Bakery Cinco Ranch did such a great job on the grooms cake for half the cost and they went way beyond our expectations. A wedding cake is one of the special centerpieces ofvthe wedding and those who provide services for such events should be prepared to provide the highest service or be willing to make amends for any issues that arises. Came in for another round, very pleased that they have their full line up of ice cream this time around, because honestly, even though I got a nice ice cream last time, it wasn't the one I wanted. Using the FiveStars App, I got a bogo on either an ice cream/cupcake and a 10%off purchase since I had enough points, so aside from a peanut butter cupcake, I got a scoop of Cookie Monster ice cream (really just a blue vanilla ice cream with crumbles chunks of chocolate sandwich cookies throughout) and a scoop of Red Velvet Ice cream, which the lady serving suggested to me. I also sampled the ny cheesecake ice cream, which has the perfect ratio of being creamy, sweet, and cheesy. The red velvet also had a good balance of its flavors though I think it needs a little more flavor. The Cookie Monster was on point, definitely, and I love the blue color on the vanilla ice cream! I've learned today that every dollar spent on your purchase is a point towards rewards on the small cakes rewards. Will definitely want to try more flavors next time! read more

The owner, Ronda, is amazing! She and her staff are always very helpful and will make anything you ask. The cupcakes are delicious, even the gluten free I buy for my mom. The ice cream is delicious ... go try the 24 karat ice cream ... you won't be disappointed. I can't wait to see the pull apart cupcake cake they are doing for my niece's birthday. Wanted to give this place another shot since I like to support local businesses. The cupcakes taste exactly like the ones from Kroger. I am shocked they thought their recipe was good enough to create a standalone bakery. Why pay $3.75 per cupcake when you can pay that much for a hole dozen of the exact same thing at Kroger? Make the drive to Nothing Bundt Cakes or Crave or Sprinkles instead. This place is nothing special. read more

I just had the worst experience at the bakery this past weekend. I mean like WORST experience. I've been to smallcakes several times for cupcakes and they were so good! I never had a problem until I ordered a special order cake- which they heavily promote on their instagram with many pictures of beautifully put together cakes. The cake I ordered was not beautifully put together, in fact it looked like they made it 30 minutes before I showed up to pick up the cake. It was my mother's 50th birthday this weekend. We had family flying from different parts of the country to make it for the huge party we threw for her. My sister went into the store about a month in advance to let them know we wanted a cake and exactly what we wanted. I went in with my sister about 2 weeks later to confirm cake details and make some changes. About a week before the cake needed to be done a baker from the store contacted us asking for pictures of the cake details. I sent several photos and confirmed color scheme (purple). On the day of pick up, which was extremely hectic and very busy, no time for mistakes or stopping, I pick up a very BLUE cake with sloppy frosting and none of the details I had asked and paid for. The design had not been followed through and the colors were not there, I almost thought the cake was given to me by accident and was actually someone else's. It wasn't. It was mine. The best part was when we bit our tongues and kept the party going since we had over 50 people waiting for cake and we cut it open only............ to find the even the filling inside the cake was not what we had asked for. Oh boy! I paid more than 100 for a cake that would of been better made at Kroger and for much less. Basically do not come here for cakes. They only do cupcakes and need stop promoting cakes online and in person because they clearly don't know how to make them. Update: the owner contacted me and gave me a refund. Oh man, I'm a ridiculous lover of sweets and stumbled upon this little piece of heaven and now trying to do my best not to double my weight within the month. The flavors in these cupcakes are nothing short of incredible, some I would have not thought about in a cupcake and have to try...others I know have to be amazing and they never disappoint. By far the best spot to cure your sweet tooth issues in Rosenberg. Pricing is quite good as well, we usually get a 6 or 12 count, variety of course, and then fight over who gets first pick...but honestly you can't lose anywhere. Peanut butter fudge, lemon, cheesecake, chocolate overload, it goes on. Do yourself a favor and drop in to this spot, you'll thank me later. read more

She bought the chocolate on chocolate cupcake, wedding cake cupcake and got a free scoop of vanilla ice cream. All three were wonderful!! The cupcakes were moist and the icing just perfect. The ice cream was delicious as well. We will definitely be going back to try other flavors. read more

After 30 years of decorating cakes and catering I retired and used Smallcakes Rosenberg for my grandsons first birthday, Ronda and her team did a wonderful job on his construction cake and the boxes of assorted cupcakes were a hit. I love their shop it is so cute and the amazing ice cream and coffee is a great bonus. read more

Although their cupcakes are great tasting, they can create a better store environment. It's a dash on the expensive side for a cupcake, and for that I expect more from them. I would like to see the employees in uniform, even if they're in simple "smallcakes" t-shirts. However, the main change that I would recommend would be to put on some music in the background. It's VERY AWKWARD going into the store, and you feel like you can't discuss anything because there is awkward silence filling the store. read more

I have tried a couple of different places for a small treat without having to buy something and bring it home, or pay a price at a resturant. Smallcakes in Rosenberg has been a great find to satisfy my cravings. They are the best! The staff is always friendly, and I've never had a bad experience. I recently ordered a few dozen small bite cakes for a special occasion, and once again Smallcakes delivered. I ordered the small bite cup cakes and they were a great hit for my party. I wish my guest would have left me a few for after the party died down. I would recommend this bakery for any needs that you may have. A cute and clean storefront with beautiful cakes and cupcakes and a seating area. When we walked in, there were several people standing around the register area as well as the area in front of the cakes. No one knew if there was a line or where to order. When an employee came out, I asked if there was a line formed and if so where it was. She stared blankly and somewhat rudely said "over there" and nodded towards the cash register. Other customers were all looking at us with the same confused faces. We go get in the line behind the cash register - which we soon find out wasn't the line after all. A little bit of chaos at ordering that could be fixed with signage or friendlier staff. We ordered a large variety of the cupcakes for $3.75 each. As far as the cupcakes, each one was moist and cooked to perfection, but the icing was too sweet. The wedding cake flavored cupcake icing had a strong chemical taste to it. Overall, I was hoping for more from this place. Sadly, it can't compete with Crave or Sprinkles and I doubt I will be back. read more
