Best cake and cupcakes. Never too sweet and my pups love their puppy cupcakes. It's the place I go for all my celebration cakes

This place is small and provides very little sitting space. The decor looks cute and fitting for a cupcake local. On the outside, it says cupcakery and creamery. They sell cupcakes and ice cream, that's it. I would give this place a higher score if they sold milk, chocolate milk, or something else to enjoy with your cupcake but alas all they sell is water and that doesn't exactly scream flavor. I find it strange that they don't sell milk more so because the subtitle of the place is creamery. Not only that, but they sell MILKshakes, which means they have to have milk back there somewhere. Pour it on a cup and sell it to me gosh darn it. I haven't tried the ice cream yet, but I'll come on a second day for that. For now, I shall enjoy the peanut butter cupcake I got. The icing was too sweet, to the point I had to remove most of it and just occasionally dab into it. The bread in the cupcake itself was good, but felt under-baked towards the center. I still enjoyed it somewhat. I'll have to visit it again for a hopefully better experience, as the local was 30 minutes away from closing. read more

The store is very cute, but it was quite busy when we went by, so it was a bit cramped. Not a big issue though. Overall, lots of fun cupcake options. Purchased six to sample around, and the cupcakes were good but not worth the price (to me!). So, if you're comfortable with $4+ for a decent cupcake, they're a great choice! Beautiful presentation. read more

This has become a regular stop on our trips to McAllen. We always end up taking quite a few because there are so many delicious optons. We even ordered cupcakes for E's birthday gathering and what a hit! Everyone was raving about the taste and texture and seemed to enjoy choosing their flavor. Check this place out! read more

Ok, confession time. These cupcakes were SO FRESH, SO GOOD, that while I was in town for work, I planned ahead strategically to have a nutritious lunch so I could go here every night for a treat instead of dinner! No regrets, I have my memories now to sustain me until the next time I'm in town. The owner and workers were friendly and supportive. The boxes were so beautiful I wanted to keep them around longer because they were so cheerful. read more

Yo a cupcake with ice cream sandwiched between. What comes better than that? Got a blueberry cupcake with two scoops of pistachio ice cream. Sounds like an odd combination but the sweetness of the cupcake balances and the pistachio balance each other out. read more

If you're looking for delicious cupcakes/cakes and AMAZING customer service, come check it out! read more

Amazing work and great customer service employees are so amazing and helpful i so recommend it great prices

Well worth the recommendation. I had been waiting all week to go try this place and wow! So many things, so many choices that I had to slow down my mind because there was so much joy in it. I thought with my stomach today and it decided in getting the cupcake smash. I went with the really fruity looking fruity pebbles cupcake and for ice cream I had to keep it fresh and got a orange creamsicle flavor. The owner said I'd be in for a delight and boy was I. Ice cream was amazing and creamy. Overall I'd give this place a 9.6/10. Oh and btw, they got cupcakes for your dogs!!!!! read more

Not only is this place cute, but their cupcakes and ice cream are super delicious!! I had the Cupcake Smash which is a cupcake cut in half with two different ice cream flavors in between. They make their own ice cream, so they have a variety of unique flavors. I ordered the coconut ice cream which had a creamy consistency (so don't be afraid of icy ice cream here!) and little strips of coconut. I also ordered an ice cream which had bacon in it, and this flavor was unlike any you can find at your typical ice cream shop. It was a daring creation and strange enough to spark my interest. It was very strong in its flavor and salty, like caramel, so it can be overwhelming, but I recommend trying it as an experience. I enjoyed it! Aside from the ice cream, I also had the pistachio cupcake which was equally as amazing! It had a yummy filling inside, was moist, and the frosting light but full of flavor. So good! The girl who worked there was the most lively, passionate worker who I've ever been served by, and the owner came out and greeted us, chatting about their experience so far. Everything from start to finish was superb! read more

This place is soooooo good! I ordered 2 cupcakes Strawberry and Wedding cake! Both were so good, perfectly moist, the icing was amazing, 10/10. As far as pricing I think it was $3.50 a cupcake? I can't remember but 100% worth every penny. Also I was greeted when I came in, and felt very welcomed! Will be returning!! read more

This was our first visit to Small Cakes. My expectations weren't high due to disappointing experiences at other cupcake businesses. Wow! What a surprise! The cupcakes were delicious. The were moist, flavorful, and actually tasted like the intended flavor. We will definitely be back. Excellent customer service. read more

Ice cream was awesome. Cupcakes are super cute and the actual cake was moist and yummy but the icing was a little too sweet for me (although my toddler only ate the icing) read more

Whenever I get a sweets craving, I pop in Smallcakes. All the flavors are so good and the cupcakes are so moist!!

This is the way cupcakes should taste! The cake itself is very moist and yet perfectly baked. The icing is cute, colorful and sweet while portraying the essence of what the cakes represent. You can tell what they will taste like just from the representation and they don't all taste the exact same which often is the case in my experience with other cupcake shops. The service was amazing. The salesperson explained what each type was filled with and answered any questions we had. She also asked us to sample the ice cream which was very good as well. But we were here for cupcakes and they didn't disappoint. We tried a chocolate variety which had a cream filling and a strawberry with strawberry filling along with a wedding cake variety. All were great. There are many places to buy cupcakes in the RGV but none better than here. Great job!! read more

I'm here thinking about my grandma and she is not doing too well. I'm from the Dallas area and have family down south. I went to visit her 2 weeks ago and found this little gem! My family loved these cupcakes. It helped us smile and laugh with the little moments we have with her. The owner was the sweetest guy ever! He had told me his name, and I forgot, if anyone knows it please let me know! I will be making a visit every time I visit my grandma and family!! read more
