My daughter started at Small World Preschool in August of 2021, with her staying there the entire time before she goes into Kindergarten at Meridian World School in August 2025 she had went to school there for a total of 4 years. You can tell based on her start date that for the first couple years of her life it was a pandemic and she had little interaction with other people or kids, so going to daycare she was scared and shy. She was a very quiet kid around other people, observing them and not own to show affection or seek it out either. That all changed when she started at Small World and honestly it's because of one specific teacher there, of course the owners John and Mrs Ines are AMAZING. But it was a teacher named Mrs Lucy who changed everything. I imagine she was sent here to love and care for kids that need help opening up, she is so kind, so understanding yet still firm and consistent. She helped Rose completely come out of her shell, suddenly she was talking to other people, she was making friends and not afraid to talk to other kids and ask them to play. We do not live that closer to Small World Preschool and to be honest there is daycare waaaay closer as we live far into Georgetown. But the school was so absolutely perfect for Rose that we could not remove her. Now after 4 years she is just an absolutely loving, kind and respectful little girl. Not a shy bone left in her body, not a kid she can't make friends with. They were amazing about communication throughout the day, what she eats, pictures and videos of her playing. If you are looking for one of the most dedicated preschool in the Williamson county area this is behind a perfect choice. And their camp is great, 3 field reps a week, and activities on the day there isn't one. If I had to do it all over again I would picked School World every single times. read more

I interviewed several daycares and childcare providers before coming across Small World. I found them to be very nice and kind people. It's a family owned business and they both work there. My son took to the owner immediately and would monopolize his day if he thought he could. I feel very comfortable leaving my child here and I am glad that I found them. read more

I had been working at Small World Learning Center for over a year. Since I started working, I felt all the love that Mrs. Yaya and Mr. D gives to their students. They don't only care about their learning but their wellbeing. The kids enjoy everyday homemade food and a safe environment where their safety is a priority. I used to have my daughter in a preschool off 79 in Round Rock, we won't name names but it's at 79 and Eggers. My daughter would scream bloody murder for the entire 6 months she was there before we even got to 35 and 79 because she knew that's the direction we were headed. We had a very bad experience (and when I say bad, I mean BAD experience) at that school that forced us to find another school in a fast hurry. Originally when I was pregnant we had looked at Small world but they were doing renovations and didn't have a newborn class. Well, this time, they made some room for us in the 2yr old class to get my daughter in there! (She's 2 now, not quite a baby anymore)... let me tell you, I waited almost 3 months to post this review because I wanted to know for sure that I was posting the correct info and that they weren't hyping me up for a fall out or questionable experience... I'm here to tell you- Johnny and Inez, the owners of this preschool, are AMAZING!! My child actually gets upset on Saturdays and Sundays because she cannot go to school to see them! She loves going to school every single day, she is excelling and learning so much with them... after just a week she had ran back on Friday to hug Mrs. Lucy (her teacher) and told her she loved her. My heart is so full and I'm so impressed by this school! The communication is wonderful, it's clean, they get to know both the parents and children both.. they had my child potty trained in pretty much 2 days.. it's just incredible to where she was previously! If you're looking for a pre-school and this school has an opening, you had better jump on it! The best day-care I have enrolled my daughter in. Unlike other childcare locations I noticed a big difference in my daughter's demeanor she was always happy never gave me trouble when dropping her off ,unlike other daycares when I would drop her off she would be holding on to my leg not wanting to let go. The owners are real good people and really care about each child that goes into their care.They teach the kids spanish and my daughter now knows how to count up to 20 in spanish and have other learning classes that they have provided her ...I truely recommend it here if you like to have a peace of mind that your kids are safe then this is the place. I chose Small World Learning Center for my daughter for several reasons. First being that it is right outside of my neighborhood, so I can simply walk my daughter to and from, but also I know that this is a safe area. I did my shopping around and found that this one was the most affordable in terms of not only price, but the quality in return. The facility was much cleaner than any of the others I visited. Also, my neighbor has two boys the older one which went to small world from toddler-hood and now for the after school program, and the second son goes there too because they are so pleased with the care their other son received. I could write a book on how wonderful Small World is. We moved to Round Rock in August of 2011 and between then and November of 2012, my daughter went through 3 different child cares that were not a fit for one reason or another. And then we walked into Small World and I knew the minute that we walked in that this was the place for us. When YaYa or Mr. D take you on a tour of the school, the first thing you notice is that the kids all run up to them and give them hugs. You can tell that they genuinely love and care about all of the kids and consider them family. My daughter is 9 and she is just flourishing there. They are a deciding factor for us in whether we were going to stay in Round Rock or move further into Austin. My kids have now been going to this daycare for over a year now and honestly it's the best child care facility ever! Ms.Lucy is so caring and great to my kids. The staff speaks to my children in Spanish which is a plus and they genuinely care. They are very understanding and generous! This place sounds great when you're being told everything you want to hear. HOWEVER, this place is a joke. Don't let the cameras fool you. Those aren't to protect the kids and give you some sense of peace. My daughter came home saying a teacher grabbed her by the arm and yelled in her ear. When I called the school to report the issue, the daughter brushed it off for the next morning, and after arguing that this shouldn't be put off until the morning, she hangs up on me. The owner yaya, calls me the next day assuring me that she would review the tapes, talk to all the kids, the teacher as well as my daughter in order to complete an investigation did no such thing. In fact she only asked the teacher if it happened. she refused to review the tapes and never spoke to any children or mine. She said nothing like this has ever happened before and she wasn't going to allow me to come into her bread and butter and making false reports against her teachers. She explained that she will always stand behind her teachers and she didn't care who I reported the issue with because I was stressing her out and she didn't have time for me or my complaint. That nothing ever happened only because my daughter didn't have a red mark on her arm. If you care about your kids, DO NOT send them to this school. The review below would say great things and give great ratings because she's family!!! haha that's the only good reviews that they can get. read more

I am 28 years old, and attended this daycare as a small child. I cannot express to you how wonderful this school, and the staff are. I returned to Round Rock recently and stopped by because I saw Mr. and Mrs. Duarte outside at their new location. As I walked up to them, both of their faces lit up and immediately they recognized me. This place, these people...they are all family to me and have had a lasting impact. There is so much love and care and I will undoubtedly send my children to Small World. This is the place where your children should go if you are considering daycare or preschool. This place was a horror from the beginning. I am new to the area and this was the first facility that I chose to try. The owner and her husband both agreed to pick up my daughter from Head Start. The first day of Head Start, I got a phone call from my daughter's teacher that the husband refused to pick up my daughter. So I had to leave work and go pick her up. The husband came back to the Head Start and tried to take my daughter before I could arrive. My daughter's teacher informed that I was on my way to pick her up and could not let my daughter go with him. I can not express how much I stressed to the owner and her husband that my daughter was needing to be picked up from Head Start when she started school. Then, my daughter gets sick (vomiting) and when I come to pick her up is when I found out that she got sick. My daughter had vomit on her shirt and told me that she was put in the back room by herself. When I informed the owner about my daughter getting sick, she informed me that I could not bring her back for 24 hrs. Then I asked her why they did not call me and tell me she was sick. Her response was "It just barely happened!" When I asked the owner if I could have my daughter's extra clothes, shoes, blanket, and mat, she told me that I had to pay her for a full week that my daughter did not go to her facility before she would give me my daughter's belongings. MOST OF ALL, the husband called me over the phone and left a voice message threating to file against me at the District Attorney's office for $115 that was owed.
