Ours is a one star or negative one star review at this point. Here's why. The review that I made 11 months ago when we unenrolled I just noticed a response and it said that we had never enrolled or been part of that school. I then started to look and noticed that several of the reviews that were one star had a similar comment about not being legitimate. I'm here to say that that is 1000% false. Please see our enrollment and disenrollment information Make your own decision by reading reviews, but just also know that the one star reviews are more than likely accurate especially with the level of specificity that was provided. This is a bold face lie saying that negative reviewed. People are not part of the Childrens Lighthouse records.

Leaving Gaby's Nest was one of the hardest parts about our move! We never had to worry about our daughter being happy, safe, stimulated/engaged, and taken care of when she was with them. She would always come home singing new songs and relating what she had learned/done at daycare to our home life! Mery and Giovana love their daycare kiddos as if they are truly their family! They got to know our daughter so well and celebrated her milestones along with us! They celebrate every birthday, holidays, and even hold family parties for the holidays where you can meet the other parents/siblings and spend time together. Mery and Giovana go above and beyond! We attended Bluebonnet School from when my son was 13 weeks through Pre-k. He's now on kindergarten…read moreand does their after school program. From Ms Erika to Ms Rachel the teachers have been fantastic. Ms Erika (Room 1) is so experienced with young babies that I knew my child was in good hands with her. As a first time mom she taught me many things. And capping of the experience with Ms Rachel (room 18) was perfect. She will prepare your child for kindergarten, no doubt. She gives the kids so much structure and really prepares them with reading skills. There have been some issues with teacher and staff turnover during our time but this is the unfortunate nature of the industry especially with how challenging the last few years have been (pandemic). The assistant teachers seemed to change frequently and it was hard to keep track of who would be in his room. In the past there have occasionally been communication issues but I feel that the current director has worked a lot of that out. Any issues we had, the teachers and staff have always been eager to solve. My son has enjoyed the amenities at the school like the splash pad, nice outdoor play area, Spanish and music classes and the other vendors that come in offering classes like Gymstation for sports and gymnastics and Waterloo for swimming lessons.

The first month went well, but as he adjusted to the social environment, he began having age appropriate behavioral challenges, including occasionally kicking when frustrated. We worked extensively on these behaviors at home and expected to partner with the school. One day, after noticing our son was out of view on the classroom cameras for about 30 minutes, we called to check on him. We were told he had been taken on a walk around the school to help him regulate his emotions, which we appreciated. After that call, however, we began receiving frequent reports of behavioral concerns that had not previously been communicated. The director invited us to a meeting to create a plan for our son's success. We were hopeful, but we left disappointed because there was no clear action plan. During the meeting, staff expressed concerns that our son might be developmentally delayed and recommended that we see his pediatrician. We followed that recommendation, and his pediatrician found him to be average to above average developmentally, believing his challenges were consistent with adjusting to his first structured childcare environment. The deciding factor for us came when we observed classroom camera footage showing a teacher and assistant pulling our son by one arm and, shortly afterward, his lead teacher reacting to him in a way we felt was inappropriate. At that point, we made the decision to withdraw him from the school. Every family's experience is different, but we hope sharing ours helps other parents make the decision that feels right for their child, especially during the often difficult transition into daycare.

While my mat leave was NOT a vacation, neither is taking care of my little one, and doing the research to figure out if daycare, nanny or aupair fits the bill for your family is such a personal decision, not everything is one size fits all. Our research started when I was 6 months pregnant and I started touring several daycares in the area along with Montessori schools to just get an idea what the heck we were dealing with, securities instilled, and how daycare works. We went to tour 3 places, all of which I had first hand feedback from existing coworkers from all places. Primrose's director Ms. Artus shared we should even look up all the daycares on the Texas state site to check for infractions of which we found none. :) yay. Plus a short drive from our home makes it an easy pick up and drop off. First thing is, while costs are high, this is not something we were afraid of when we factored in the many amenities and learnings we expected from a daycare, the professionals that know how to take care of our LO better than we can with some tips and tricks, and also wanting something more than a daycare where your kiddo just goes through the motions day by day. It's only been 3 weeks, and I'm still on my maternity leave but as I re-enter the workforce next week, and leave my babe for realsies, I trust he's in the best of hands, I've dropped him off and popped in on occasion, and I've always seen him shown with love. So many other perks include, him socializing with other babies. They change him very frequently and can even examine his bowel movements and ask if he has breast milk since we do nurse our little one at home but give daycare formula since my pumping milk doesn't produce enough. I love how attentive and observant they are without us knowing what to share. He has his own crib, collage of people who love him and play area and I love how I get to see all the little ones grow and learn along side our babe. We are the first in our friends to have a baby so it's hard to get kiddos for him to engage with even as a newborn or even know how to do it all. Don't fret, the primrose staff is super helpful and SO good at what they do. I commend Ms. Mary of the young infants class and all the staff assistants that help. I love seeing our little one grow and learn so many things that I would struggle to even think of except for survive, go on stroller walks and naps. They've instilled structure, helped me understand as a first time parent what to look for, extra outfits, diaper cream, and all the things I never knew for taking care of my baby. It honestly feels like my own little village of caretakers that watch out for my LO, and this genuinely can really show how much that means to me. They've got so many happy kiddos that fill the halls and the community really seems great from our short time here, the calendar is filled with activities and field trips the different age groups take so you know what fun they're in for. Parents night out is a thing too, whoo hoo! Love it so far, and we hope our son thrives and grows well here for ages to come. I look forward to updating as he moves into the next classrooms so I can share our growth and experience but we love it here.

Primrose at Vista Ridge is a phenomenal place for your kiddos. We had our 5 month old in the infant…read moreprogram. The teachers, Astrid and Daniela, are beyond caring and helpful. Its obvious they love what they do, and you can see the attachment form as they get to care for your little one. They have a solid curriculum, even for the little babies! Every week, they would have her focus on expressions, shapes, developing the senses, and community play. The sleeping situation took a bit of getting used to. There are strict guidelines laid out by the state, that they have to follow, so while our baby didn't get a dark and quiet nap space with a sound machine and blackout curtains (due to the state mandated guidelines, you wont get that anywhere), she did develop skills to fall asleep in more difficult situations, and learned how to self soothe to sleep. WIN! The front office is also lovely. Kayla and the crew are always welcoming, and the communication is stellar and consistent. They have an app where they share daily updates on food intake, nap times, activities, and pictures of your baby. It's scary, putting your infant in child care. This place makes it easy on everyone. From the first day I left our baby, I felt she was in excellent hands. I have nothing bad to say about this place. I would happily recommend this to anyone who is looking for a nurturing place for their children.

UPDATE (July 9, 2025): The incident happened May 7, 2025,…read moreunder the current owners who took over on Dec 31, 2024. In their reply, they referenced "previous ownership" -- THIS IMPLIES THEY ARE DISTANCING THEMSELVES FROM THE INCIDENT AND SUGGESTING IT OCCURRED BEFORE THEY TOOK OVER, which is completely false and misleading. so as of july 9,2025 there is another "new owner"?? --------- We've been with Primrose School at Vista Ridge for nearly two years with no prior issues. We always paid on time, had a good relationship with staff, and trusted them with our son's care. Unfortunately, that trust was completely broken by how they handled repeated biting incidents -- especially the most recent one. Over the past few months, my son was bitten multiple times. We accepted the incident reports and moved on, thinking these things happen. But every time I asked my son who bit him, it was always the same child. On May 6, my son did not attend school because he had a fever over the weekend and was still recovering. He returned on May 7, and that same day, he came home with a bite on his face, just under his eye. As a parent, that's terrifying. You don't get a bite like that unless a child grabs and restrains another -- this wasn't a minor mark, and it wasn't something that should ever happen under proper supervision. And yet, the child who bit him was allowed back in class the very next day like nothing happened. All I received was a vague checkbox-style report with no narrative, no real explanation, and no documentation of what steps were taken. When I told staff on May 8 that I didn't want the same child seated near my son, I was ignored. The very next day, I saw photos showing them seated right next to each other again. To make matters worse, the school's solution was to offer to transfer my son -- the victim -- to another class not even his age group, away from his friends. When I asked why the other child wasn't moved, I was told the other parents were "willing to work with the behavioral plan," while I was the one complaining -- so my child was the one they offered to relocate. I guess you can truly measure a childcare center not by how smoothly things go on a good day, but by how they handle a serious situation -- and whether they stand up for the child who was harmed. In this case, they failed completely. Since then, I've toured several other daycares in the area. Most charge around $305 per week, including meals. We were paying $370 per week at Primrose. I realize we were being overcharged for substandard supervision and no accountability. Parents, please be warned. If something goes wrong here, don't expect transparency, accountability, or any effort to truly protect your child.
