Westminster mall stores are closing so it's quite depressing to walk through. This shop is cute. Everything is 50% off and 60% if paying cash. I seriously wanted to find something to buy but there wasn't for someone not into anime. My son likes a spy show (exact name I can't recall) and we got some figurines at a really good discount. As the rest of the stores in the Westminster Mall, there are great deals store wide as the closing nears. The selection is smaller since they are trying to get rid of inventory, but I do recommend to anime figure collectors to help buy that remaining inventory for a great price (60% off). Though the original prices for everything were already much over market value so the discounts are definitely necessary. I probably wouldn't recommend it otherwise. I also do dislike that they try to sell unofficial figures, they are separated and labeled so there is no confusion. Not a scam but its just not a good look for anime store to sell fake anime figures. The staff is friendly though!! Anime collectors do check this store out before its closing time. read more

I'll be honest, I was expecting what everyone expects out of an anime store at the mall: bootlegs, random normie series of only just Fairy Tale, DBZ, Naruto, Attack on Titan, Sailor Moon, BnHA, bootlegs of K-pop merchandise, etc. And yeah, you do find that there. But you know what else you find? Actual licensed merch that you generally find at all the tables at convention exhibit halls. Prize figures, limited released figures, H-figures, large scale figures, etc. Most anime stores in general, not mall anime stores, don't really have much Fate merchandise outside of either just the most recent blind boxes or really old DEEN FSN goods. I was surprised to find a good slew of blind boxes, Nendoroids, prize figures, large scale figures, and acrylic straps from FGO/FSN/Extella/Apocrypha etc. Even more to my surprise was that I was able to find Toy's Works Niitengo Fate Apocrypha Lancer of Red, Karna figure. I missed the chance to pre-order this figure and I've seen it going for around $40. I was able to get it for $10 without the hassle of bidding, paying for shipping, etc. At first I was kinda iffy about purchasing this, but the store actually has then integrity of letting customers know which items are unofficial! Wonderful. We also got 2 Hi-Chews after purchase as well. Will definitely return at a later date to see if there is merch that I've missed from pre-orders etc. read more

We have been going to Small Wonders for 5 years, my daughter got into Naruto and the owner and staff really helped her grow her collection. Then when we got into Jojo they were wonderful as well. We got there every other month and they have such a great variety and we always add something new to her anime collection. Best selection of figures I've seen in the US, scales, prize figures and bunnys. I'm shocked at the inventory. They do have some unofficial/fake figures but they are clearly marked so they aren't really trying to deceive you. Pricing on most things are reasonable. It was quite nice coming in the other day as this was my childhood store. I always came to this store as a kid and the owner still recognizes me to this day. I remember always coming in and buying Yu-Gi-Oh! cards or action figures and it was always a great experience. This is by far the best store at Westminster mall. Not even two minutes of being in the store, I was looking at an iron patch of a character and out of nowhere, I could hear the store owner (literally) scream at me, "Please don't touch that, I will get it for you!!!" When she came over to me, I was no longer interested in the item. I was not in there for more than another minute and a half because I could see her watching me from the register counter following me with her eyes, in any direction I walked to. I don't appreciate being watched like I'm some sort of criminal when I was simply looking at an item that I had an interest in possibly buying; I just needed a closer look at the details before deciding. I'd give this place only 1/2 star if I could. Perhaps the owner should consider placing sticky notes all over the store asking their customers to not touch anything. The owner needs to work on her customer service skills because that's how you SCARE customers away. Beware...if you don't mind a pair of eyes watching your every move. There have been negative reviews with an employee of the store but that is understandable because the merchandise that they sell are imported and rare goods. So, please be aware, to ask for assistance when looking at collectible figures on the shelf on the right-hand side of the store and to not bring any food or drinks. My experience whenever I visit the store is like any comic book or collectible stores. It usually has merchandise that is rare and valuable but most of them are imported from Asia so be aware that the prices may be a little bit high due to the shipping rates. However, there are some collectible figures that are a lot cheaper than what is being sold online. This is because the store did not change their original prices when they first received the merchandise. An example is SH figuarts Broly which I paid for $90 but was being sold for $120~ online. The employee can be nice if you show them courtesy. The lady who rang me up gave me a pack of chew-hi candy which I absolutely love. Overall, be sure to be considerate to their merchandise in-store and do not take it to heart if they inform you of their strict policy of assistance or food and drinks. Come in when there isn't an older lady working and watching your every move. I asked for posters and took my time debating between which ones I wanted. I eventually bought some and was happy only to have the older lady speed walking towards me right as I was gonna exit telling me to stop and wanting to check my bag. Nothing but the posters I just bought. She then casually dropped her hands from my bag and said "oh sorry" and walked away. Pretty embarrassing on her part more than mine but, I didn't appreciate her watching me throughout the store and treating me like a criminal at the end when I simply just like to take my time with shopping. Anime! Cute gifts! Manga! Anime figures! Plushes! Anime t-Shirts! Pillows! Anime keychains! The bf and I have browsed through this store for almost a decade. They have a lot of different items in the store that could be really good gift ideas, and the prices aren't too bad. They also do try and update their stock every week, and they seem to be able to special order certain merchandise if you request it. For the most part, the bf and I have only good things to say about the store. It seems to be a family business, with the mom and daughters working everything. The bf and I really love the fact that they separated out the fake Anime figures with the real Anime figures, and they have signs letting you know that the figures on the walls are real, but the ones on the island is not. Price-wise, the anime figures are a little bit more pricey than what you would get online, but you'd also have to realize that import shipping and taxes nip most of the profit of selling the anime figures. And, considering some figures are super-hard to find anywhere else, we'll pay the $5-$10 premium on physically seeing the figure that we're about to buy. They do have a few things that aren't real, such as the Rilakkumma plushes. I think some of them are actually labelled Rilukama, so you'll know which of those are fake/real. Their manga is fairly priced at around $7 versus the normal full price of $9.99 or above. They have snowglobes, dragon figures, ugly dolls, music boxes, Funko pops.... just a huge variety of things in the small store. They also have a few sections where items are probably 50% off. They also have an annual membership that you can renew every year for $25. Benefits include 10% off your regular sale purchases (no discounts on 50% off sale items or anything else that's a special), and free Hi-Chews. There are also a few other things with the benefit, but those are the main ones that I'm reaping off the bf as he buys the store's merchandise. Service has been polite and helpful. Everytime we visit the westminster mall, we never miss this store and this is the spot where we usually purchase gifts. It's our favorite store in the mall! Not anymore until today's experience.. Todays trip at the mall consisted of my husband and I picking up some pokemon cards and funko pop from gamestop. Unfortunately, when we went to small wonders to take a glance at the funkos and when we walked out some elderly lady came running to us pointing at the funko we had in our hand. I explained to her that this is ours and to check her camera. Then she was like why no bag? And I said gamestop doesn't have plastic bags ... (why don't she go ask gamestop why no bags herself lol). Saw a friend purchasing items from small wonders, decided to hit them up myself and there customer service were awesome! They provided information that I needed and they hosted a livestream to see what was available and what was not even though some stuff were sold out I was able to get other items for a good price 5 star for the service. read more

Great store! We take our kids here often and they pick out cool little toys that they collect. We have had to return items in the past and that process was painless. Went here twice and was the BEST!!!! I bought a DRAGON BALL Z Goku Black Statue and it was amazing. For only $23 I got a pretty big sized Goku Black Statue. Pretty cool. After purchasing, I got 2 HI-Chews. THE BEST. They do have some bootlegs but, they do warn you so that you know. Overall, amazing for Dragon Ball Z related figures or statues. I came here in April with my boyfriend from out of state and spend 2 hours just looking at everything in the store. They have official figures and knock off ones of very rare figures for cheap which can be fun for collectors who don't want to splurge so much money on a figure. The owner was very nice to me and my boyfriend and recently ordered from them online and went to go pick it up and I got a discount for paying with cash! Yes this place is pricey, but if you want to item locally and interact with the workers and people in the store is worth it. Most of society now just buys online and ignore humans interactions. I have been going to this store for over 5 years. It is a great place for anime fans and even video games fans who want some merch. The prices are pretty fair if you ask me. The staff are very helpful and kind. I like the variety of stuff to get in the shop. From plushies, keychains, figures, wallscrolls, and so much more. I'm not from around here and I saw this place on Yelp to look for anime figures. The shop keepers are very nice, greeted me when I first entered. Although I did feel a little nervous, I asked if they could help me find something and they did. Would highly recommend this place for figure collectors. Small wonders has been in Westminster Mall for as long as I've known it. Been going here since I was a kid. I do collect anime figures so what I want to point out is its weird as they sell both real AND fake figures. Their fake figures are put on another display and are priced down dramatically, which, I mean, makes sense. They have quite a selection of real figures (statues, figmas, nendoroids, etc) except the only thing is they're priced EXTREMELY high. and when I mean extremely I mean 69.99 for a figma and anywhere between 120-180 for a statue. If you happen to come across a rare figure thats value is bumped up elsewhere it might be worth it, otherwise your best bet is to go to Kinokuniya in Costa Mesa or Anime King in Irvine. read more
