First time shopping here and this is my review as a seasoned thrift shopper:…read more Pros: Friendly staff and good selection of a variety of items (clothes, electronics, housewares, seasonal etc). Best days to shop are Tuesday $2 & Wednesday $1. Most of the items are from Amazon returns. 7 day return on all furniture & VIP items. Cons: Furniture & "VIP" electronics are priced high, some are missing pieces. Book selection and price $2 aren't impressive, especially when Habitat Restore is right around the corner selling books: 5 for $1

We were traveling through the area and needed a replacement cord and charger so we pulled into the…read moreFamily Dollar parking lot and saw Trade It! We are not from the area and never heard of this store before, so we went inside to check it out. When you walk in there is a good sized vestibule with a counter to your right. We were greeted warmly by a lovely woman with striking red hair who was helping a customer at the counter. I quickly realized that the gentleman she was helping was trying to sell her a small refrigerator, We continued straight through another set of double doors into the store portion where items are being sold. It's actually a really cool concept. For people not from the area, think "Once upon a child" where you sell your baby stuff and other people can buy it without paying department store prices. You get paid, the store gets paid and people in need save money. All the employees we spoke to were really friendly and helpful. You can tell a lot about a business by the people it hires and how well they work together and with customers. We were able to get the things we needed at a good price. A new cord, still in the packaging that works great and a few other items I saw while inside. By the time we left, the front room was crowded with people waiting to sell things. This seems like a popular store in the area and you can feel good about shopping somewhere that really helps the community. I would definitely return to this store and I recommend you stop in and check it out if you haven't already.

I have been to alot of Roses department stores in my lifetime. However, I will say this location is…read morepretty mind boggling. Why do I say that? Well, normally a Roses department store is located in a lower income neighborhood within a run down building - providing some of the basic necessities for a family. This location was a complete surprise! They had a very large furniture selection with pieces from Ashley's furniture, rugs, and more. It puts you in mind of Ollie's (if you are familiar with them). The store is huge and very well maintained. Shelves well stocked, floors clean, items located with ease for the customer to find. It's nothing like what I remember going up to visit when in certain areas. I would say things were priced pretty well for what's being offered.

The really cool items to me is all the old cigarettes and cigars, there are literally thousands here along with lighters, etc. He has just about everything, many items from the 8o's, but just as much from whenever. It's worth the drive, when you see his sign, you must follow the 1/2 mile stone driveway all the way to the back. Mr Raeford's is very entertaining and kind. No prices on anything, he's a bit old fashioned and you need to throw out a number less than you are willing to pay. He has just about everything imaginable. i should have taken more photos of all the different buildings, his place is highly organized even though it appears random.

Sometimes the jaded part of me wonders why I stop by places like this when I expect I'm going to…read morefind the usual flotsam. It's nice to know my jaded self can still be surprised. I like the Treasure Shoppe. Although it carries some of the expected things, they're so reasonably priced I felt like I was stealing them when I got the total at the register. There's a little bit of everything here and it's all mixed together so I had no choice but to take time looking at everything. Treasure Shoppe has quite a few handmade goods from locals: jewelry, soaps, and miscellaneous decorative items. I wish I knew how people came up with these simple, yet creative ideas. When I saw the handmade knit shawls (and hats), I nearly bought everything they had -- the price was so incredibly low, there's no way the person who knit those is making a profit. They weren't made of the lightweight yarn using large knitting needles either, it was the heavyweight yarn, made with smaller needles that create a garment meant for warmth, not frills. The ladies that work here are incredibly friendly, chatty, and sweet -- everything you'd expect. Except for the guilty feeling I had for walking out with some cute things for a bargain price, I had fun exploring and look forward to doing so again.
