I've never had an issue at this location and specifically talking to the food court-- everyone that has taken care of us at the ordering counter has always gone above and beyond. May sound silly but when I don't feel like cooking, the hubby and I always go for a cheap dinner meal at Sam's- the pretzels are perfect and the pizza is fresh every time( because they stay consistently busy!) Now as far as the grocery standard...it's the holiday season as I'm writing this review so I think delays in service are not intentional at all. I have enjoyed Sams Club in house made chicken salad for several years. I purchased some today and it is a totally different recipe - chicken used to be in chunks, now it is more liked mashed up chicken, and the dressing is nothing like it used to be. I recently visited Sams Club on Tarrytown in Rocky Mount, NC to have a tire repaired on my new 2017 RAV4. I suggest that you NOT go here and get tires as long as BRIAN is working there in the Tire dept. BRIAN put a screw in my front tire after I inquired what was taking so long to put a new tire on my car. Made me pay for the repair and Held me hostage for 4 hours. I want a refund on my membership. I have been a member in the past but since I moved I had not updated my membership. So I updated my membership to purchase a tire. When I arrived at the tire shop about 11:16 am, I noticed the work bay area was empty. I was happy to see that I maybe able to get the tire replaced quickly and be on my way back out of town. I could see Good Year Tires nearby. I did not want to drive on the rim to get there since the rear passenger get tire was completely flat. I pull up to the bay to request services and the Supervisor says do not block the empty bay. There was no one working in the work area. I am told it will be one-half hour to complete the repair. One hour later I ask to see the Tire department Manager, whose name tag read BRAIN. I was told the other mechanic was told to pull the tires to the back of the store. So when I spoke with Brian the Manager, I asked him how much cense does it make to pull tires to the back of the store when you have so many customers waiting for service. I mentioned I was not from the area and needed to get back. Brain said he would go and check. When he returned he told me the supervisor would start work on my vehicle. Later, I saw my car being driven into the bay for work . When I look again, I notice the Supervisor is not working on my vehicle. When I got outside the Supervisor said my vehicle was ready to go. He had not informed me my vehicle was ready. He was trying to further delay me. As he backed out the work area, he suddenly stopped and did not back out of the bay completely. I asked the cashier why did he stop? She was standing near by to ensure all was clear for him to exit. But he stopped. When I pulled out to the Stop sign there was as bump under the car. I circled arounded and returned to the bay. I explained the problem to the Supervisor. He drove my car around the block when he was only to go around the parking lot. As he drove back to the bay I could see a large screw in the front tire. There was no screws in any of the tires when I first arrive for the repair. The tires were all checked. I inform the Supervisor I am not paying for another tire. He gets the Manager, BRIAN. I explained that the screw was placed in my tire deliberately. Brian forced me to pay the full price of another tire. When I asked to speak with the Store Manager, BRIAN said HE is the Sam's Club Store Manager. I went inside the store to the Member Services Desk. I asked if the Stores Manager is here today? Yes was the answer. I asked his name. Terek was told to me. I asked if they would page him for me. I asked if he was a White man. They said No. While I was having this conversation, BRIAN went into the break room. When the store manager was paged BRIAN came out of the break room and walked behind the Member Services Area and told the Ladies not to page the manager. I noticed a group of nicely dressed young men and ladies working on setting up as display, I asked if they knew the Manager? I saw the Store Managers name tag matched the name given to me by Member Services. I tried to explain the situation to the Store Manager. He did not take time to understand the situation and was reluctant to get involved. After having continious review of this situation with my witness the conclusion to the matter is BRIAN was upset at a Black woman telling him it makes no sense for a worker to be pulling tires to the back of the store while so many customers are waiting for service. Brian put that screw in my front tire deliberately to cause me to buy another tire and spend more time for another repair. I ended up purchasing 2 new tires and an executive membership. I did not leave the tire repair until after 3p. BRIAN certainly did his best to delay me and cost me more money. Why is BRIAN working at Sams Club? By the way the store manager, Terek promised a $35.00 gift card. I never received it. Sams Club I would like for you to reimburse me for the money I spent on the additional tire your employee sabotaged. You might ask BRIAN why did he tell me he is the Sam's Club Store MANAGER? HORRIBLE SAMS CLUB PICK UP!!! I checked in and no one came after I waited for more than 15 minutes. I go inside to the customer service desk and there is a line. So I had to wait another 10 minutes. They can't scan my order in and had to re ring it. Then I tell the cashier, "look I need this to be put in my car because I'm 8 months pregnant and can't lift heavy stuff. " So I push the cart out to the pick up where a person is supposedly going to put the stuff in my car. No one is there. So I waited another 15 minutes. While I was waiting I tried to call inside the store and no one answers there phone. On my way home I tried to call the store multiple times and again... no answer. I called the 1-800 number and they couldn't find my pick up order number... well of course you're not going to find it because they had to cancel it and rering it. So they were no help whatsoever. What took an hour should of taken 5 minutes. They need to get with it. read more

I will say that this Sam's club seems to be more organized than most that I've frequented over the years. I could actually find an employee to ask a question. I decided to stop in a few days after Christmas to restock my mother's house with water and essentials that family & guests depleted. I wish Sam's had alkaline water. I don't understand why they don't. Also, there are not many items for people who may be on gluten free or plant based diets. They really need improvement on this. On the plus side, the store is clean... While walking around, I noticed reminders of Christmas like cookies, candy, gift packs ( that no one is ever grateful to receive.. Also reminders that Spring is around the corner... Outdoor patio furniture and grills big enough to set you back a couple of years... I still want one of those though... read more

Today I was gonna purchase jewelry at Sam's Club in Rocky Mount. The sales manager was so abrupt and couldn't be bothered with me. When I asked the price because she said she couldn't take the watch out of the locked case. I've always purchased jewelry there. Then I was about to leave and asked the door attendant if I could speak to the manager. I spoke with the manager who was very cooperative and understanding. My wife and I recently moved to Rocky Mount NC and we love the city. But, we are constantly dismayed at businesses in the area. Sam's Club is one of them. Everyone is aware of the rampant discrimination and racism that blacks have suffered in Rocky Mount. We have noticed that many of the businesses and Sam's is one of them, in our opinion set the blacks up for failure. They do not seem to train the blacks that they hire in customer service. Many of the blacks that we encounter seem to be unaware of how to give real good service whereas the whites seem to be very good at it. We have been educated by not only blacks but some of the whites here by their letting us know that the discrimination is real. We have never received good service at Sam's Club by the predominately black staff. We doo not blame the employees, we blame the management. The service at Sam's sucks. read more
