I called on 6/18 just to see what was going on, and the salesperson who sold us the furniture claimed that Ashley changed the delivery date to 7/25/2020. I then contacted Ashley's distribution center and was advised HomeTrends can send their driver to pick up our furniture and we could have our furniture tomorrow! I contact HomeTrends back with this info and Joann had the audacity, the pure gall, to tell me if we want a refund, we'd have to pay THEM $540 - that's total BS! I'm not someone who rolls over and takes crap. The BBB, The NC Attorney General's office and the Civil Courts in my town will be hearing from me.

I bought two Marshall cushions 18"x18" & one 18"x21" and had them shipped to my upholsterer to be…read moreinstalled in our newly refinished and upholstered couch circa 1920. I was told that the cushions were to be covered in at least two inches of cotton and NO foam. That made sense because the old spring cushion was wrapped in cotton. I told my upholsterer to use cotton only and NO foam. My experience with foam is that it fails very quickly where cotton will hold together for many decades. The finished couch looked fantastic and the cushions felt a bit soft but comfortable. Within one month the cushions were collapsing and the fabric wrinkling. As time went by the cushions began to look like they had been run over by a Mac truck. It was then time to look inside the new cushion. Much to my surprise I found that the upholsterer had built a foam outer body for the sides with just a thin layer of cotton on the top and bottom of the Mashall unit and then a thin foam top and bottom piece glued to the outer body. What was even worse was that the Marshall units were NOT secured to each other on all four sides, just two sides. This caused the springs to fold into the adjacent spring which in turn degraded the cushion even further. What a waste of time and money. Since I still had the original springs from the old cushions we decided to build them the way they were intended 100 years ago. My wife sewed individual pockets for each spring which held the compressed spring at 3.5". I then stitched each spring and pocket to the adjacent springs using heavy twine on all four sides. The finish cushion unit was then covered in three layers of fresh cotton, then covered with Dacron and lastly covered in ticking. The cushions look great, plump and firm like they used to be.

Confusing bidding; the auctioneer would call the next bid price for a very long extended…read moreperiod of time, and when he finally stopped asking for the higher bid, he would say sold to the highest bidder with the next bid price he was trying to get, not the price of what the person actually bided. After dropping over $2500 on items we asked politely when the auction truck pulls up if they could go to the right just a tad so we could get by with our equipment... They replied NO! The auction is our #1 and only priority. I didn't ask for them to stop I didn't ask them to go. I asked that when they moved the truck again to go to the next item just move to the right a tad... After they get your money they could care less about you...I will never go to another one of their auctions.

He came out to my mom's house and was able to tune her old upright in a timely manner - I was in no way rushing him out the door, but it was a surprise gift so I couldn't let my step-father see him sitting there. I enjoyed talking with Butch during the tuning, we had similar tastes in musicians and in styles. He was very friendly, polite, and did not shy away from sharing his knowledge of his craft.
