We arrived early at 5pm and it was already packed! The secret is out! Service was friendly. Margs were delicious. Good was great. Loved that the Burria tacos are crispy and not so oily that so many places get wrong. Chips, salsa and guacamole were great. Breakfast burritos all day which made my friend and husband very happy. I would probably get the tacos next time. We will definitely be back! Parking was easy to find on the street.

I don't remember what I ordered though so at the time it just wasn't very stand out-ish. I recently went back with some friends because I told them I was in the mood for tacos. I tried a few different ones, the Carnitas, the Barbacoa, and the Lengua. I was full with three, but it was so good. I ordered a fourth and my husband who normally gets my leftovers - didn't get any leftovers from me this time! He got a couple different tacos from what I had largely. We ordered about the same, but he got the shrimp which he said was delicious as well. I also tried the signature, Bellanova margarita - I must say that was a little unexpected, not your traditional margarita it was very sweet, so probably not something I'd order again since I prefer stronger tasting drinks, but the coconut flavor in it was delicious if you like coconut. The service was excellent! When we arrived, the interior was super packed and super loud so I was very relieved when we got to sit on the back patio, which turned out great because even though there was a little noise there, we were able to hear each other much better. The server was excellent. She kept checking on us. She answered all our questions and was very kind and accommodating. I've been thinking about the tacos since then, it's been about a week, I can't wait to go back.

We have eaten here several times, and the food & service is typically fine. I wouldn't say it is the best I have had, but it is flavorful. Margaritas here are very sweet, and the tequila flavor was nonexistent. I have ordered Carne asada the past two times we have visited, and it was VERY tough (could barely chew it tough), they ask how you would like it cooked, but it doesn't matter- it is going to be served well done, which adds to the toughness of the meat. This past visit I asked to substitute the jalapenos for onions; I was charged $2.50! We also asked for more chips for the table and were charged $1.50. I understand food cost, so I do understand that charge. HOWEVER, I can go to any grocery store and purchase an entire 2lb. bag of organic onions for $2.89, so $2.50 for what looked like an eighth to a quarter of an onion was a bit steep, and if you are going to charge for SUBSTITUTING onion should you not refund for taking the jalapeno off? *This place will no longer be in the Mexican food rotation; there are better places out there where one doesn't get nickel and dimed for average at best food.

One thing I really appreciate is the fast service and how quickly the food comes out, even when they're busy. The service is impressively fast. The ambience is great and there's plenty of seating, so even though it's popular, it never feels cramped. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. Los Dos Portillos is consistently good. I've been to multiple locations, and the quality is just as good every time. Occasionally, you'll even catch a mariachi band, which adds a really fun, authentic vibe. One time they even humored me and played "Poco Loco," which thoroughly delighted me. There will almost always be a wait on Friday and Saturday nights, but honestly, it's a reflection of how popular the place is, and it's worth it. I grew up in an area with a high Hispanic population, so my standards for Mexican food are pretty high. This place absolutely delivers. It's one of those spots I keep coming back to, and I'm never disappointed.

We just went the other night and we won't go back. 1. We were sat at a booth, which I would've thought would be new replacement furniture. But the benches were so weird and sort of spill you backwards. Not the end of the world but weird. 2. The menu is too small, smaller than it used to be, I'm pretty sure. There was no a la carte section, no 'sides' section. There was not a single item on the entire menu that was less than $10. I only wanted like a little side item or house salad, but no dice. 3. Food was just meh. Salsa was pretty good but super spicy so beware if that's important to you. There was no crowd there at all, which never used to be the case, so I wonder how long they're going to make it. Reading another review here saying they re-use unconsumed water has me so grossed out, I don't even have words. You know they'll pull that shit for unconsumed chips, salsa, etc. GROSS.

The host was welcoming and was provided with chips and salsa right away. The server was quick to welcome us, taking our drink orders, and providing us with more time with the menu due to our first visit. The menu is extensive and has the standard offerings of other local Mexican restaurants. Lunch included the Chimichanga with green chili and sides of rice and beans, and the other a combo plate of the Beef Burrito, Cheese Enchilada and Pork Tamale. The server asked if we wanted mild, medium or hot green chili, which was a nice offering. For us the hot green chili was very good, with enough heat to make us "sweat", but not overpower our taste buds. The medium was just about right for nice flavorful meal with the lingering heat. All the meals were served quickly and piping hot and had nice flavor all around. Overall, the lunch was good and service excellent, and parking was great with plenty of off-street parking. I would not hesitate to return when in the mood for some consistent and comfort Mexican food, and great service. Tips for your visit: Lunch time is a slower time for them, so both times I visited we were able to sit and visit with friends without feeling rushed.
