This review is specifically for KYLE SHIROMA. He is an awesome sales associate and should be commended for his dedication to helping my husband and I get a good night's rest by finding the right mattress. First, he gave us an overview of the showroom layout. Basically, Beauty Rest models were upfront from newest arrivals (flagship Black X-class Hybrid series) to older ones (original Black series) by number of springs. Followed by Tempurpedic models in the back and Stearns & Foster models along the right side upon walking in from the main entrance. In the very back, off to the left of the Tempurpedics, right before entering the clearance showroom, is the Serta and Sealy models. Then, Kyle recommended that we receive a sleep/pressure point analysis to estimate the amount of firmness we'd be most comfortable sleeping on. Firmness levels range from 1-2 (soft), 3-4 (medium-soft), 5-7 (medium-firm), to 8-10 (Firm). After a quick digital analysis scan, we found that my husband and I averaged between a 2-3 level of firmness, so we opted to look more into medium suggested mattresses. Next, we tried different models from each of the brands. We preferred the Beauty Rest X-class Hybrid series the best. We were impressed by the comfort and level of coolness we felt while testing the mattress out. We also opted for a mattress protector for $99. The only unexpected item that we bought and weren't factoring into the price beforehand was the necessary box spring due to the type of frame we had at home. It really drove up the price (by $400) because it needed to be a specially made one to support the heavier than usual hybrid model mattress we were getting. It's a good thing we really loved that mattress! Anyway, we were very satisfied with the service from Kyle. He was knowledgeable about the inventory, patient when we were undecided, and respectful by giving us time and space without coming off as rude when leaving to help other customers. She will bait you , tell you about church, family and how much you deserve a new bed BUT if you cant afford what shes trying to sell she will dump you and ignore you and move on to the next customer. Thanks for Fern and Mark for helping us check out new beds! We were sure that we wanted a Tempur-pedic for our next mattress, but it turned out that it just isn't the mattress that matches both of our very different sleep styles and body pressure. After looking on the showroom floor and checking out a few mattresses, Fern invited us to the back for an analysis of our sleep pressure and problem spots. I'm a belly sleeper who loves a soft bed and the hubs sleeps on his back, preferring a firmer mattress. Although we knew this before visiting, it was interesting to see just how different our pressure maps looked on the screen. Fern showed us around the store. One bed was perfect for me, but too soft for the hubs. One bed provided the firmness for the hubs, but my back was not having it. Finally, we found our "Goldilocks" mattress--it was just right for both of us! (Even better, it's about $1K less than the Tempur-pedic we thought we would get, so we will be saving some money!) I really should have written this review right after we purchased two of our beds in late August/early September. Alot of the detail re: the specific beds we purchased are vague, but what I really am extremely pleased with is the friendly and expert customer service we received from both Kyle Shiroma and Laurie Ide. The stress of buying a bed is stressful enough, but much more so when you have a husband that has high expectations! I first tried to do as much homework online as possible to find nearby places to go in hopes I could get my husband to make the trek to try out the beds. I was thankful that Laurie Ide gave me some general information and so we narrowed things down for a bed for my son and our queen size bed. I went home in hopes I could get my husband and son to go to try the beds. Luckily, I was able to get my son to go in with me a day or two after first seeing what they had. Laurie wasn't in, but we were so fortunate that Kyle Shiroma was working and was to helpful. Because my son was with me now, his preferences on what kind of bed he wanted got finetuned with Kyle's help. We learned different things about the Beautyrest and Stearns & Foster bed I thought we might be interested in. Kyle asked us more questions and gave us more information. Kyle patiently let us try various comparable options and he made some logical suggestions in respect to the beds we were considering purchasing and how we might proceed just in case the bed we initially buy did not meet our satisfaction in relation to their 120-night comfort guarantee. Sharing his own personal experience in his selecting the right bed for himself and his family helped us to understand the process and what we were really wanting. The beds were an investment and Kyle did not try to oversell or do any of that. We ended up buying the same model Beautyrest (BRB22-L-Class F) in Queen and Twin size. The twin size had to be special ordered and we were told it might take 4 weeks or so, but it was manufactured much quicker than was expected! Without hesitation, I would definitely recommend going to Slumberworld Aiea and asking for bed specialist, Kyle Shiroma for his attention to detail and superb service in the purchasing and after-purchase follow-up. The delivery went very smoothly with timely and fairly accurate tracking to help us anticipate delivery. The delivery persons were very respectful in how they handled the new mattress & did a very thorough job with installing and cleaning up afterwards. You won't be disappointed! We're now at least 2 months into having our beds and we're very satisfied and happy with our bed purchase! read more

My wife and I were looking for a new mattress set and Nathan from SW was a huge help. We've looked at other stores the past couple days and narrowed down to two brands. We were able to make a well-informed decision and purchased a set that was exactly what we wanted, on sale and in stock. The icing on the cake that kicked this to a 5-star, later that afternoon my wife found the same set at Sears that was priced lower, she contacted Nathan and he was able to 'price match' - price adjustment of $300. We were able to get another piece that she was eyeing out before we left the store earlier. Buying a bed should never be stressful! Yet, SlumberWorld decided to make it very complicated! I came in twice to buy a TempurPedic mattress. The first time was Labor Day weekend and literally no one reached out to help my boyfriend and I. We were in there for a good 45 minutes testing out beds, laying on them and not one person helped us. The only contact we had with someone was when WE asked about how we could find the price for the beds. We left empty handed with a bed in mind we wanted but since no one helped us, we left. Fast forward to this past Saturday. We came in again to look at the bed we saw the last time. This time, we were greeted and helped by a salesperson (I rather not say names). She explained everything about financing, warranty, and even threw in a free pillow. Then, right before after we put the down payment, she mentioned the bed going on sale tomorrow but she didn't know what the new price was. We agreed she'd call us on Sunday to tell us how much the bed was on sale for. The next day, she called and said it was on sale for $200 off but, she wouldn't be able giving us a free pillow anymore. We said okay and she said she'd write up a new invoice and mail it to me and I didn't need to come in and sign the new invoice. Great! I thought it was a done deal. NOPE! I get a SERIES of calls on Monday starting at 5pm with questions about changing my invoice. She said she was now giving us the free pillow & $200 off, which was nice of her but with changes to my invoice EVERYDAY and no copy of my invoice, I was very confused and questioning if the invoice was actually going to be correct. I did ask the salesperson if she could email me a copy of the invoice from Sunday but she insisted on mailing it to me. At time point, I was pretty skeptical about everything going on. But then, it got wayyy out of control. I was called 3 more times on Monday night but this time I just let it go to voicemail because I have a life! I was busy doing something and didn't want to keep talking to the salesperson multiple times. Within 2 hours, I had 3 missed calls and 2 voicemails telling me I needed to come in by 9pm to sign the invoice or else my delivery would be delayed. Wait, what?! There should be no changes to my total between Sunday and Monday if all she added was a free pillow and she already told me on Sunday I didn't need to come in and sign. This is when I realized, she probably didn't write up my new invoice on Sunday like she said she was going to. I was upset, confused, and at this point so stressed out. I was also insulted when the salesperson said in BOTH her voicemails that it should be no problem for me to swing by because I just live right up the street from the store. Ummm..you don't know if I'm at home. Customer Service Tip: the customer should never be inconvenienced, threatened, or harassed because of a mistake made on behalf of the salesperson. I ended up calling the person back and cancelling my order completely. read more

Slumber World is located off of Kam Hwy, sharing a parking lot with Red Knot, HomeWorld, America's Mattress, and Ashley's HomeStore. They carry a wide selection of high quality mattresses from brands such as Temper-pedic, Airloom, Stearns & Foster, Serta, and BeautyRest. Although we decided to purchase our mattress elsewhere, we had an educational experience here. We came on a weekday evening and was helped by Fern who started off by having us lay on a bed that measured our pressure points and suggested levels of firmness. We then tried out each brand and learned about each's specialty - it's really a bit overwhelming. They have a great selection of memory foam, innerspring, and hybrid mattresses. The prices were clearly displayed for each mattress and at the time they had a fabulous Memorial Day sale. After some price comparison, Slumber World was not the most competitive but for the vast selection they have, I recommend to anyone looking for a new mattress. He guided us and gave input to what kind of mattress we should look at and why. He did not show us the most expensive one and try to push it on us, He showed us the showroom and explained all the mattress's and features that each one had, the levels of firmness to softness, he knows what he's talking about, Highly recommend. Yesterday I celebrated my birthday with a gift to myself. I wanted to get the bed of my dreams. I recently had an opportunity to sleep in a bed that moved/vibrated, inclined both head and feet. My experience was so amazing with finding a bed that could keep me upright. So here I go off to Slumber World in search of my dream mattress. I was greeted by Kyle Shiroma a bedding specialist. First off, if you need to speak to someone with great intel speak to Kyle. He knows the details of brands, styles, manufacture inserts, materials, popularity, comfort etc. Kyle is also very pleasant and most importantly patient. I was so overwhelmed by the amount of inventory they have. Kyle steered me towards my preferences (hard, adjustable, budget) Because of his ability to let me mentally digest and physically try different styles I was able to make my decision on the spot (60 minutes) and with no regrets. He also made sure to go over my purchase total by itemizing everything out with detail/clarification as to why I would need warranty, bed protection and delivery services. I felt very relaxed and confident that I did the right thing. After all, it was my birthday. Kyle ended the transaction by giving me a gift to Starbucks, a drink of my choice. I was so shocked that he pulled out his phone and placed my order and I got to choose a drink from a menu and drive across the street to pick it up. We worked with Kevin and liked him so much, we drove all the way from Kaneohe after our initial visit to finalize a purchase. He's funny and personable but also straightforward and honest which is appreciated in a sales person. They have a pretty wide selection of mattresses to choose from (Simmons, Serta, Tempurpedic, Aireloom, etc.). The prices are decent, but I recommend waiting for a sale. The staff was very friendly and patient when I was trying out different mattresses. They also carry a small selection of pillows and bedding accessories. I ended up with a Simmons queen mattress for under $600. They offered me a mattress pad for $99 and said that if you purchase it, you get 5 years warranty against stains on the mattress. There is a good amount of parking because this Slumberworld is right next to Homeworld. You could end up spending a lot of $$$. read more

Got ourselves a sleep number m7 memory foam bed today. Our sales rep was Kevin Mummery. He gave us great service, wasn't pushy, very patient, very informative not only on the mattresses we were interested in but also gave alternative suggestions. Knew when to give us privacy and a little time to talk and determine what we wanted but never left us hanging. Answered any questions we had and went to go get answers if he didn't know off hand. Got our bed for a pretty good deal with $100 off because of a special they were having this weekend. He also offered a stain repellent cover for $99 that has a warranty of 10 years. They'll remove the stain or give you your money back for however much you spent on your mattress. Free delivery and set up! Removal of our old bed was $20 but it seems worth it especially considering we live up 3 flights of stairs with no elevator. Thank you Kevin! read more

After 15 years sleeping on our way outdated bed we decided it was time to purchase a new one. Most of our furniture was purchased through Home World so it was an easy decision to go there. Arriving there we walked in through red knot. We walked in the back and saw beds assuming it was Slumber World. A Gentleman (I forgot his name) helped us he was so helpful and had awesome customer service. We tried out some mattresses and actually was ready to settle on one. I had asked him where are the Tempurpedic mattresses? That's when I discovered that there were two different mattress company's in Home World. I told him that we would be back because we wanted to try and lay on the tempurpedic. We were greeted by Fern on the slumber world side. Fern was very upbeat and willing to show us around. We noticed that she had great knowledge in choosing beds. After trying out a tempurpedic mattress she recommended an Aireloom. Game over... after lying on it I was sold. The bed made me feel like I was floating on air. My wife and I knew we wanted that mattress. We felt bad for the other salesman, but hey u have to purchase what u want. I was impressed with Fern that she had no part in persuading us in our decision. The Aireloom sold itself. Since we were so happy with the aireloom we decided to go all out and purchase everything. Fern had great knowledge in helping us choose an Ease adjustable base, Life style bed bug proof mattress cover, Crystal cooling bed cover, Supima charcoal bed sheets, two solar pillows, and a pair of Allerzip pillow protectors. Writing up the purchase went smooth. Fern was very quick to set it up. We were impressed at her ability's. She has so much knowledge, not only in selling beds but knowing what is true customer service. My wife and I were very pleased. After leaving we remembered that we forgot a head board. Letting the week go by we decided to pop in on a Saturday to purchase one. Luckily Fern was working that day. She showed us a bunch that would go with our Ease adjustable base. We decided on one. She recommended two ways. Either a bracket to attach to the Ease or screwed to our wall. Not sure why I wasn't thinking I just said have it delivered and I'll screw it to the wall. Fast forward to delivery. On the day of delivery the workers asked for the brackets. I told them that I would just screw it to the wall. They convinced me that it's better to attach it to the bed frame. I understood there logic and decided to give Fern a call. With that one call Fern set everything up. Since we had purchased so much from Slumber World they threw in the delivery and instillation for free. My wife and I are so impressed with Home World. From Ferns awesome customer service to there accommodations for there customers. I highly recommend them if you are looking for anything home decor related. Went in here today, purchased a new mattress. Th manager Rich answered many of our questions and Cortez took care of us during the deciding factor and purchase. I loved hat he didn't hassle us to buy things we didn't need and he seemed to genuinely want us to get the best mattress for us. He didn't try to pressure us to purchase something we didn't need. When we decided on the mattress, he wanted us to lay on it just to be sure it was for us. He wanted to make sure we weren't sinking in or having a hard time getting off the mattress. He was great. He even allowed ya to finance the mattress at 0% interest for 24 months which was great since this wasn't our first purchase from this store. Getting a mattress is an investment so Cortez helped us immensely. No pressure just suggestions and helpful feedback. He even told ya we had 120 days to love the mattress or they would come replace it with another!!! This place is always clean and orderly. Cortez and the manager were very attentive and personable. I only gave one star because there's no option for a "Hell no" My sister has been shopping for a bed for the last 2 weeks. We decided to check out Slumberworld Aiea.I want to thank Dale for giving us a "Pretty Woman" moment. As soon as we walked in the store we immediately laid on the first pillow top bed we saw. Deciding that this may the bed she wants, my sister was eager to find out more about it. A saleswoman, who I found out later is named Dale, approached us. She said " what size are you looking for?" My sister says "I'm not sure yet" Dale replies "Well, this bed all together is about $6500" I turned to my sister and said "I don't think she thinks we can afford this bed" She agrees and says she wants to leave. After driving off the lot I realized that Dale is the worse kind of salesperson so I decided to call and speak to a manager. Unfortunately he doesn't arrive until 12 but that didn't discourage me from ranting to the innocent sales girl that answered the phone. Dale is an asshole and doesn't deserve your money. Super happy I came in looking for a simple twin mattress, nothing fancy, nothing expensive. Lyndsi, the wonderful lady who helped us, guided us to a mattress that pretty much fit all around what I needed. She was super informative, gave me a lot of options, but as well to was really patient with me as I haven't had a mattress in quite some time. We ended up picking something from the clearance section, but I'm more than satisfied with what I got. The bed is really comfortable. Lyndsi was able to help me put the bed on hold (which is a 10% refundable down payment) so I could take a little time to look around elsewhere. I ended up coming back though because I liked the bed she had showed me most. Coming over to pick it up was super simple as well too. Overall, I'm really happy. I wanted to update my review. Once I got home I realized just the frame had been delivered. I spoke to Clark, the manager, the next day, and due to all the trouble I experienced he wanted to get me my bed right away. Was willing to deliver the next day, but due to work schedules I chose to hold off until Saturday. The guys showed up with the mattress, but when I asked about set up they said, "oh, we don't do that." After everything, I just said fine, I'll set it up myself later. My husband called to ask about progress, he was furious and immediately called Clark. Clark wanted to make sure everything got fixed. When he couldn't find someone to come out to remedy the set up, he came out himself with two other guys to take my old mattress away and set up my new bed. They were here within about an hour of my husband (with a Ted's chocolate macadamia nut pie, to boot). Within probably half an hour, old bed was gone, new bed set up and taught how to use/program the remote. Clark went above and beyond to make sure that everything got fixed and, to me, that's a sign of an excellent manager. I wanted to update my review to reflect the extra mile Clark took to make everything right. I do have quite a bit of credit left and may need to buy a new couch. If I get service like the latter part of the service I received from Clark, I'll be back to update my review accordingly. I do LOVE my new bed and saw a couch I'm interested in and would like to give HomeWorld/SlumberWorld another chance as I do like their selection. read more

We even called a bunch of the "discount" Furniture places in Waipahu and Slumber World still beat their price - $104! We went in, ordered it, and got out of there in 10 min. This store has a huge selection, and many special buys. I definitely got the feeling that they wanted to make the right fit for me and my budget. They appear to value their customers.
