There's a ramp to get you in and out, in case walking in ski boots is tough for you.
    Mary S.

Dark. Really dark, after you've been out in the sun and snow on the ski runs. After your eyes adjust, you can see that it's a fairly nice place, with a fireplace and ski-gear-on-the-wall-as-decorations motif. The red bucket chairs on casters are really, really comfy. I'm sure they have booze there, 'cuz there were some people talking with that loud voice you only get when you're a bit ... expansive. But we were there on a mission: refuel, warm up the toes, then go back out and ski like maniacs until they close the lifts and tell us to go home already. Our waiter made us feel at home. She didn't rush us, and came to check on us often enough. Great service! We decided to split a Reuben sandwich. The corned beef was not too salty. The sauerkraut had been warmed on the grill. Sometimes, they keep it cold, but we like it warmed up, 'specially in the winter. The bread was swirly pumpernickel rye. The waitress brought us each our own basket, and we each had a pickle and crunchy homemade ripply potato chips (awesome!) along with our Reuben. It was plenty for me. Don't want to eat too much, then feel sluggish right at the top of a challenging ski run! Only about ten bucks, plus tip. A great deal for lunch at a ski resort. And you don't have to wade through the crowds, like over at the Boyne Highlands cafeteria.

There's a new chef who is taking the food into anew direction. The food is more fresh and made from scratch. I had the cubano sandwich with their chips which are made inhouse. If you're coming in to warm up, this sandwich is a great choice. It has a bit of spice but nothing over powering.

Understaffed, very very long wait. Food was good but frankly not worth the wait. Ambiance was good ol boy after golf casual country club.

Stayed at Boyne for the weekend and ate dinner here twice. Both times food took at least an hour to arrive. Amanda the server rocks though

Had a great pizza and drinks. Hubby said beer was super cold! Yum. Wine was a bit expensive but it is a resort location.

The staff was nice. She was a very nice lady. A little too loud for a family environment. The food was good. I would recommend the pizza.

The only drawback was the table size. It felt a bit tight for five people once the drinks and plates started filling the space. Aside from that, the restaurant was clean, including the bathrooms, which is always appreciated. Our server was prompt and attentive. She quickly took our drink orders and returned shortly after with them, then took our food order without delay. The kitchen moved efficiently, and our meals arrived fairly quickly. Dinner came with one basket of bread and butter, with additional baskets available for an extra charge. We also ordered three desserts, which were decent and a nice way to end the meal. As for the food, the lamb stood out and was very good. The steaks were solid and well prepared. The chicken Alfredo was a bit too heavy on the cheese, making the sauce thicker than expected. The mushroom ravioli with beef delivered strong mushroom flavor, definitely generous on that front. For five people, including three desserts, our total bill came to $246. Overall, it was a good experience with attentive service and mostly enjoyable food.

They were warm, doughy, with a sprinkling of poppy seeds and had a sweet flavor to them. For my main I went with their Ale Battered Walleye Fish Basket. The fish was super moist and flakey while the breading was crisp and didn't have any soggy spots. It came with some coleslaw and fries. Both of which were good, but the fish was definitely the star. I also was able to try their liver and onions as well as their sweet potato fries. Can't say I am a big fan of liver but the meat was tender and melted in my mouth. Their sweet potato fries were great and if you're a fan, I'd recommend you upgrade to those rather than the standard fries. All in all the food here was good, the staff was friendly, just be aware that their beer menu is extremely limited. Currently a 7.2 on my Beli, I think the Roadhouse is a great spot to take the family for a nice dinner.
