I am not the type of person who writes online reviews, but as I sit here the day after my wedding looking at pictures and crying over how awful my hair looks, I feel I have no choice. I should have known it was going to be bad when I walked into the salon. I checked in a little before 8:40 for my 8:45 appointment. My friend who usually does my hair wasn't available, and at my last hair appointment she asked Lindsey if she was available. When we were scheduling, she changed the time from 9 to 8:45 to give us more time. I got there a little early hoping we would start right away, because I needed to be back at my hotel by 10:30 to get my make up done and get my dress on. Two girls who looked like they hate their life were sitting at the front desk. I told them I had an 8:45, and the one girl said I'm checked in before quickly going back to whatever doom scrolling she was doing on her phone. I sat down and waited. And I waited. And I waited. By 9 am I wanted to ask them if they knew my appointment was for my wedding that day, but they were very unapproachable and looked disinterested. Finally at 9:05, Lindsey came out to get me. She apologized that she was late. No explanations were given other than it was her fault and not her client's. She mentioned this was for my wedding, and I told her I needed to be back for my make up. When she asked what time I needed to be out by, I said 10:10, and she said we would be fine. I showed her how I wanted my curls, and she said it would be not be a problem. As she was curling my hair, I noticed she kept brushing the curls out. By 9:40, I asked her why she kept brushing the curls out. She said that you have to break up the curls. I told her that my hair looked straight. She said it looks like the picture. I pulled out my phone again. By this point the tears were welling up, and I was having a hard time not crying. I told her my hair looks like it did when I woke up, just a little waves and no curls. She then blamed my hair for being "very fine" and that it's curly like the picture. I've curled my own hair plenty of times without issue, and by this point I was wishing I just did it myself. Lindsey asked another stylist to come by to help. That stylist was busy. She asked another stylist to come help, and that stylist started trying to fix the problem. I give her a lot of credit for trying, but by this point tears were streaming down my face, and I couldn't stop crying. The other stylist brushed out the disaster on my head and started doing tiny curls to try to help. She asked Lindsey to get my Kleenex. Apparently Lindsey didn't think Kleenex might be necessary as I kept wiping the tears off my face. As the other stylist was doing mini curls, Lindsey tried to help by using what felt like a whole can of hair spray on my head. I'm three months pregnant. Lindsey was aware I was three months pregnant. It was mentioned at the beginning of this whole disaster. She didn't try to block the hair spray from my face, and I think I inhaled half the can. By the time my hair was "done," it was 10:25, and I was a wreck. I told the other stylist I just need to go to my car and cry. I was slightly grateful to at least have curls in my hair but all I wanted to do was go back and shower and wash my hair and blow dry it. By this point I was running so behind I wouldn't even have time for that. As I walked to the exit crying I was asked to pay $70. I had tears streaming down my face as I handed my card to the girls in front who looked disinterested and like they hate the world. I was asked if I wanted a receipt. No one apologized. No one asked if they could do anything. No one cared. And it cost my seventy fucking dollars. This was, by far, the worst experience I've ever had at a salon in my life. My husband said the experience doesn't even sound like a salon experience, because "aren't you supposed to be treated special?" Apparently not at Sloane Stevens. Lindsey, a word of advice, don't be a hair stylist. You don't have the temperament, the professionalism, or the skill to do the job. Worst of all, you don't seem to care you did a bad job. You seemed just as disinterested in doing your job well as the two girls who sat at the front counter on their phones. My husband said we will get dressed up again and take new pictures, but nothing will be able to take away what a horrific experience I had at this "salon." And I had to fucking pay for it. read more

Terrible service! Do not book at this salon! I went into this salon as a blonde with highlights I just got a month prior. I needed a root touch up and asked for an icy gloss to help with brassy tone. She turned my hair dark brown!!! They charged me $180. When I spoke to manager, she said it's store policy to not provide refunds. However, I can come back and have her fix it. There is no way to fix it unless she strips it or to add highlights which will fry my hair. Btw, The manager that called me back, didn't even do hair. She said she just manages the place. This is a way overpriced salon! She ruined my $250 highlights, and charged me $180. This was a $430 mistake that they made. Save your money and go anywhere else. For reference, The first picture shows my blonde hair a month ago (These highlights were not done at this salon, I tried to go back to the same girl who did them, but she was out sick) .the second one shows my hair after I left this salon. Showing it is not icy blonde like I had prior. I don't blame the stylist. They obviously do not train their stylists. I wouldn't trust going to anybody at this salon. You'd be better off going to great clips. read more

Very expensive. 200 dollars for partial, no toner, no color. Just bleach. I came here a few months back to get a basic partial highlight and explained my budget was 200 dollars. I try to be upfront as I liked this salon. I was given partial highlights (nothing in the back of my head just top and sides so my level 5 brown hair did not get highlights in the back )with short hair was 200 dollars. No toner, no base bump or root color no hair cut. I was happy with it but was suggested a full highlight next time but was told about 250. I tried talking to the girl to ask about maybe no blow dry to afford it but could not get an answer. I understand you should not try to bargain at a salon but I really liked this place and wanted to keep coming here. It just seemed strange with the way rhings are priced. I asked if it could be cheaper next time if I did not get the pay for blow dry, could not get an answer. Maybe some people can afford this, I am surely not one of them lol. I ended up going elsewhere and got high lift color for less, which is what I wanted but was told here I could not have it. This was at the Frankfort location. read more

I agree with a previous poster: The most money I have ever spent at a salon for not the results one would expect. The stylist said she would do a balayage on my hair but really I just ended up with highlights. My daughter told me my hair looked orange. The stylist quizzically asked me what I have done to my hair in terms of color apparently so she could add charges to her service. Their prices match salon spa prices but the services & end product are like something one could expect at a chain hair cuttery. read more

can't believe I spent almost 400 . 00 dollars on a balage , cut ans creatine treatment . there from 9 am till 3:30 and to be so disappointed with the color ans cut , she had to redo with toner which washed out a lot of my creatine . called ans explained my disappointment , was told a manager would call me , they never did ! a week later I called ans all they said was I had to have the same girl fix my hair ans if I wanted someone else to fix my hair I would have to pay full price ..... will never go again . I would never refer my mother , sister or friend . they are overpriced and I actually felt unwelcomed . horrible horrible place.
