Nutritious, healthy, eyecatching, colourful fresh food seems to be the Slims signature and they do it with perfection.
I recently visited Slims on the Lisburn Rd after a gym session and I wanted to have something tasty but healthy and protein filled and thankfully this place popped into my head. You can't miss it with it's unique wooden exterior, quirky wooden seats outside and topped off with a cow statue on their roof. When we arrived there was a short queue but plenty of seating where we were given a menu to peruse. The menu has lots of options including wraps, salads, curries, noodles and meat dishes. They have an extensive drinks menu which really has everything covered- amino slushies, whey protein smoothies, fresh fruit juices, veggie smoothies and drinks made with frozen yoghurt they make themselves. You can also add extra scoops of whey protein to all of the drinks if your really wanting to aid the muscle building process.
After a short wait of less than 5 minutes we were seated. I ordered the Fearon smoothie which was a blend of fresh cucumber, spinach, ginger, lime and pineapple. For my main I had butterfly chicken with teriyaki dipping sauce and an and avocado salad. The drink was really refreshing and had a nice consistency with well balanced flavours. The chicken was tender and the salad was an excellent accompaniment. The teriyaki sauce was a little watery but still edible.
They also have healthy traybakes and desserts, however I was in a rush and unfortunately didn't get to taste them.
This is a great spot for guilt free dining. It always seems to be busy and they have expanded their business with further restaurants at Victoria Square and the Belmont Rd which shows just how popular their concept has become. read more
