I enjoy their food! Workers are always friendly. They have forgotten order items a few times, but quickly resolved the issues!

Waited 40 mins for our curbside order. We had to go in for it. This place is dead, so what's the hold up???

The food came out hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious, with every dish full of authentic Southern flavor. You can tell they take pride in both their cooking and their service. Very casual comfort, exactly what I'd expect from a restaurant with a Bayou namesake…read more The place has an unusual menu limited only to daily specials for lunch, so I initially got the impression that I was at some prison-like boarding school. But once I took my first bite, I was pretty satisfied. I had the country-fried steak, along with mash & gravy, and rice & gravy. It was good, and for under $20, I really can't complain. The place is huge, very spacious with both indoor and water-side outdoor seating.... something I'm not used to seeing in Los Angeles. It almost felt like a studio set at Universal. Definitely a lot of Bayou character! Service staff was young and friendly, without any of the pretentious I'm used to in La. The folks are real, and I appreciate that. Because of the limited menu, I'd advise you call ahead and make sure it's something you like, cuz if it's not, you're SOL. I like it. I'll definitely be back.

Best Fried Chicken in Panama City or Panama City Beach -- truly!…read more This is THE fried chicken: perfectly seasoned, thickly breaded, explosively crisp! Absolute YUM. But then... the sides... Who serves fried chicken and doesn't offer chicken gravy for the mashed potatoes? I asked, and the reply was: "We have brown and white." Brown and White??? That's a fried‑chicken sin. And the sin deepened when the "mashed potatoes" turned out to be so watery they could practically be served in a cup. I mentioned it to the waitress, who explained, "We use a mix of instant and real potatoes." OH‑kaaay. My response: "Way too much water." Meanwhile, I'm wondering where the butter and cream went. For reference: I took a skinny straw and actually sucked the potatoes through it. That's how thin they were. The vegetables, however, were genuinely delicious -- classic Southern style and well prepared. A surprise hit: the fried hoecakes. Imagine Jiffy sweet corn muffin mix dropped by the scoop full into the fryer. Oddly enough, they were even better dipped into the "brown" gravy (which tasted suspiciously like modified yeast extract). Look, I understand stretching product and using convenience items. But if you're going to cut corners, do it on pre‑slicing the desserts -- not on the core of a Southern plate. My suggestion to the owners: Lean into what you do exceptionally well -- that phenomenal fried chicken. Sell it by the bucket! I'll come buy it! Trim the sprawling buffet, reinvest in real mashed potatoes with butter and cream, make real gravies, and offer a rotating blue‑plate menu. Do fewer things excellently instead of trying to be an "everything" restaurant and missing the mark on the basics. The chicken is worth the trip. The sides could be, too, with a little love.

I ordered a vegetable plate and my guy ordered the smothered pork chops. There were several DoorDash orders and other guests ahead of us, so there was quite a wait for our food. But we understood and waited patiently. We enjoyed listening to the repeat customers and their casual banter. When our food arrived, I was pleasantly pleased with my order. The greens and black eyed peas were seasoned perfectly. The okra was hot and fried well. The Mac and cheese wasn't my favorite. My guy remarked that his sides were lukewarm at best as he prefers his food to be very hot when it arrives. I would think this is because the sides are already prepared and waiting and the meats and fried items are cooked to order. We also ordered a slice of coconut cake, which was homemade, moist and delicious. During this trip, the daughter of the owner stated that she was in the hospital recovering but would be released soon. We pray for her speedy recovery! Maybe this accounted for some of the mishaps encountered. But overall, I enjoyed my food and the ambiance and would visit again if I'm in the area. Happy eating!

After hearing about the changes along Harrison Avenue and that Ferrucci's had undergone a makeover, we decided to give it another try. Wow, talk about redemption! We had a great night with a lovely dining experience, refreshing drinks, and delicious food that delivered one great course after another. The roasted red peppers and prosciutto-wrapped mozzarella ball kicked off the evening and didn't disappoint. We remembered enjoying it years ago, and it still remains a favorite today. Next, we warmed up from the chilly December night air with a cup of potato soup and chicken tortellini. Both were satisfyingly delicious, leaving you scraping the bowl for more. For entrées, my wife ordered the Zuppa di Pesce, a seafood stew with a spicy tomato broth. It was packed with seafood and flavor, with just enough heat to put a little sweat on your brow. I opted for the night's special--the lobster ravioli with sautéed mushrooms--which delivered savory, well-balanced flavors and the kind of satisfaction that comes from knowing you made the right choice. Too full for dessert, we ordered another round of drinks and toasted to second chances done right. Ferrucci's has clearly found its groove, and in a town with limited Italian choices, that matters. Consider this redemption story complete--we'll definitely be back.
