My Slim Chickens Experience: A Modern Tragedy Tonight, my family decided we wanted Slim Chickens. The pictures looked great. The menu looked great. The chicken looked great. The actual experience? Not so much. We pulled into the drive-thru and got in line behind exactly one car. Not ten cars. Not five cars. One. An employee took our order, so we figured things were moving along. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. For about 15 minutes, the car in front of us never moved. Nobody came to the window. Nobody brought out food. Nobody seemed remotely concerned that there were customers sitting there wondering if the restaurant had quietly gone out of business. After a while, it started to feel less like a drive-thru and more like a museum exhibit. "Here we see a rare drive-thru window in its natural habitat. Notice how absolutely nothing is happening." The kids were hungry. We were hungry. Morale was declining rapidly. Eventually we all came to the same conclusion: "If they can't get food to one car in 15 minutes, what chance do we have?" So we did what any reasonable family would do. We left. Not because the food was bad. Not because the employees were rude. We never got far enough to find out. We left because after 15 minutes behind a single car, we lost confidence that civilization was functioning normally inside the building. Maybe the chicken is amazing. Maybe the car in front of us ordered 4,000 tenders and a chicken farm. We'll never know. What we do know is that our dinner ended up being somewhere else. And somewhere else managed to serve us before Slim Chickens served the first car. read more

First I would say the store was not prepared to handle your BOGO chicken and waffles order. Wait time was 40+minutes past quoted pick up time. The staff were more enjoined in their own conversations rather than pushing the orders out more efficiently. And I will say that is the fault of management, in particular Chris. Upon arriving home to enjoy our dinners the lemonade was found to be RANCID. When I called the store I was greeted by Chris with "what's up?" He then proceeded to tell me they just made fresh lemonade and that there's no way my drink was spoiled. Following my objections he suggested (in the most condescending manner possible) that I bring the drink back; I declined. He then proceeds to tell me he can't refund the order without me coming back to the store (which I know to be untrue) and then told me he can't refund online orders at all; that I must call catering in the morning. I then requested the name of the general manager for the store and instead of giving me the info, Chris proceeded told me tell me "she would be in tomorrow morning and I can just call..." I interrupted and stated I did not ask for when but who. Chris then hung up the phone. I gave it a minute just in case it was some kind of glitch, he did not call.back. I called the store and asked for Chris by name and was placed on hold. Chris never came to the phone. Bad employee behavior starts at the top and considering Chris' behavior, I see why the line staff seemed more preoccupied with each other than with the voluminous orders coming in. This is the second negative interaction I've had with this particular location. I let the last one slide because I was headed out of town. But today definitely reminded me why I stopped visiting this location in general. I don't believe any remediation will take place. Let's pray I don't get sick. read more

Came to Slim Chickens today to give them another try, 09/28/2025. I ordered the fried okra and a drink. My total was $8.96. This is what I received. Very disappointed. I brought it to the attention of the young lady that brought it to me. She was surprised at the portion. She took it upon herself to get me some okra and paid for it out of her own pocket, as the manager did not approve of me getting some more okra. The world needs more Zeahs!!! This is our second Slim location we've been to and is way bigger than the other one (in Pearland, TX). We love the look of this restaurant chain. Modern, simplistic, a bit rustic/industrial as well. Like the Pearland restaurant, the floors here are SLIPPERY. LIKE- LET ME "ICE SKATE TO MY TABLE" SLIPPERY. The only thing I can think of is that they mop up grease in the kitchen and use the same mop in the dining room. Needless to say, watch your step. We went with (2) Slim's meals which is a 5-piece tenders meal and a Cayenne Ranch chicken sandwich meal. Our bill was around $33. Our food was excellent. We literally ate every last bite. Our kiddos really loved the Texas toast. I went back to order a few more sides of toast but the line was really long and literally not moving. (Sorry kids). The staff here were friendly. I had a bit of a wait for my sandwich but it came out hot and fresh. Aside from the super slick floors, great visit. read more

Our first visit to Slim Chickens was okay. It was the store in Jackson, TN. The wings were disappointing but the tenders were moist inside with a crunchy outer breading (yummy). The fried pickles were very salty, which was disappointing. Fries were cold and limp. The fried mushrooms were enjoyable. My second visit I tried to use my "free chicken sandwich reward (for using the iPhone app.) and was not able to apply it to my order. The chicken breast on my paid for sandwich looked like it had been died in old grease, was very thin and dry. So as much as I like the chicken tenders I cannot justify a "great place to eat" score. If you choose to eat at slim chickens ask for extra dipping sauce because the one they give you for 4 tenders and 4 wings is definitely not enough. read more

We received 1 ranch dressing and fries that were too cold to eat. We eat here often but learned a lesson tonight. Like many other recent reviewers, this place is not one that I will be back too. Waited 15 minutes to get my tenders and they were cold once I got them. Restaurants these days aren't cheap and I will not be flushing my money down the toilet at restaurants that blatantly serves cold food or food that's been sitting around. read more

Look the chicken strips are small and for what you get I think it's expensive. $11 and some change for 7 thin slices of chicken strips a handful of fries and drink? You can have a Golden Corral buffet for a few dollars more. The service was decent and the cashier was nice. We arrived at 9pm and they said they didn't have any waffle batter for the waffle and chicken dinner. After a few moments they miraculously had waffle batter. So we had the chicken and waffles. It was delicious. $8 gets you a waffle and four small chicken strips. No fries. So it's a little pricey. I probably won't come back due to it's just average and Zaxby's gives you basically the same thing. read more

I ordered almost $50 worth of food Sunday evening . When I got my larger order of potato salad it was less than a 1/2 full container. I asked the manger on duty about it and he was very rude and did not offer any solution. When asked how much should be in there he said that much. I asked about a small portion and he said 1/2 that much. I am not kidding this Razorback meal was supposed to feed 4+ people but got enough for 2 on the potato salad. Got enough for 3 at the most on Mac and cheese. All the bread was squashed. The 10 wings must have come off the smallest chickens possible. If this is not corrected I will NEVER spend my money there again. I would also love to add that I have owned stock in your company for almost 6 years now and it has done nothing but tank. I don't like to give bad reviews, but this was disappointing. My cayenne chicken sandwich was slightly larger than a slider with cold dried out bun and maybe four crispy onion straws. Nothing like the other times we had ordered this sandwich. We paid for extra sauces for a ten piece strip dinner and fried pickles, and received only two sauces in total. Have just joined the "wing mania" in the past few years so was excited to try theirs after hearing good things.... & was not disappointed! Any time hubby & I have been in, the place was clean & the staff was helpful. They seem to struggle a smidge on the drive-through, hence the loss of a star, but it's definitely gotten better... & we keep going back ;-) We also got another straight-up wing franchise down the road not long after this opened & gotta say: I don't think they can hold a candle to Slim's! The excellent location on Alcoa Road in Benton is a large freestanding building that includes a Patio under roof in front, which is very popular. I have eaten @ the smaller strip shopping center location on Red Wolf Boulevard in Jonesboro too. I ordered & paid @ the counter, then my meal was cooked to order & delivered to my table fresh & hot. The Employees were friendly & service-oriented, checking on me 3 times as I enjoyed my Honey BBQ Wings & Chicken Tenders with Slim Chickens special tasty sauce. I tried the Mango Habanero sauce, too, but it was a bit spicy for my taste. There is an ever-expanding list of hand-made dipping sauces. I am a wing lover so I had to try this place out. Not my favorite place for the wings. I like my wings more crispy. The flavor is ok. I will say they have several options for flavors. It is a little pricey for what you get. I have yet to try the jar desserts. They always seem to be out. read more

Food was okay, but the tv situation is crazy. We are currently here during an Arkansas Razorback game. There are four tvs turned to other games. We asked if they could turn the tv to the Hogs game. Then again, why on earth would you go to a fried chicken restaurant when you want something healthy? There are, like, two salads available and some wraps that are somewhat healthy, but that's not the kind of food Slim Chickens is known for. Slim Chickens is known for fried chicken tenders, fries and a variety of dipping sauces. If you like those things, then stick with them and you won't be disappointed. The chicken is tender and has a unique buttermilk breading that is a wonder. The fries are done just right because they're not too thick and not too thin. And the sauces are amazing. I always get gravy to dip everything in, but you can go for ranch, barbecue, some hot sauces and etc. There's really something for everyone there. They also do some very good bone-in chicken wings that come with their own sauces and are great too. The only complaint I have about this place is a small one. The food comes out too hot. You've really got to let those strips cool before you eat them or you will burn your tongue. That's a minor complaint and the place is very good overall. read more

The food is great and all but it's not worth the sarcasm from the cashier when I asked for ketchup. Girlie handed me one single ketchup packet. When I asked for a few more, she handed me one more. I understand that they have a ton of sauces, but ketchup is the most basic. Unlike their other sauces, their ketchup comes in in packets, so it's not like she had to go out of her way to grab more than one at a time. I tried Slims for the 1st time last night at this location. 2 things struck me as exceptional. 1. I have never seen food produced so fast that was of such good quality considering the EXTREME amount of foot and drive thru traffic that was present at the time (7pm). 2. The manager knew the crowds were going to be big. He had 4 employees in the parking lot directing traffic. The drive thru line was wrapped around the entire building. Had it not been for those 4 girls, there would have been absolute pandemonium. Food quality was spot on. Drinks cold, food was hot after 15 minute ride home in air conditioned car. I read the above review where the guy said people treated him like crap and the manager flipped him off? Just so it's made clear, they ensured order accuracy 2x before they took my money. I think that review is meant to punish someone. Price point is high. 8 bucks for 3 breast tenderloins, fries and a drink is pricey. But if I have to pay 8 bucks to get a sampling of their "Slim" sauce, well, here's my money. As a Salem-ite, we are glad to have Slims at Alcoa Crossing. Ordered the Buffalo Chicken Wrap plate and substituted fries for the fried mushrooms. After ordering, I loaded up on some sweet tea and took a seat next to one of the televisions broadcasting a WNBA game. The food arrived before I got halfway through my large sweet tea. The wrap was delicious and the fried mushrooms hit the spot after dipping in some ranch dressing. For a Saturday afternoon, I was surprised the place wasn't swarming with people but there was still a healthy amount of customers standing in line preparing to order. The service was friendly but diligent. I didn't see to many workers dodeling. Everyone appeared to have something they were trying to do. I'll definatly come back.
