I stopped by Sliders Grill & Bar for happy hour and it was such a great experience. The atmosphere is exactly what you want in a sports bar -- TVs everywhere playing the latest games, a lively bar area, and plenty of table seating if you're coming in with a group. Whether you want to grab a seat at the bar or sit comfortably at a table, there's a lot of space and it never feels cramped. For food, I ordered the Brussels sprouts off the happy hour menu for $5 and they were so good -- perfectly cooked, flavorful, and a generous portion for the price. I also got the Wings & Things for $9, which came with curly fries and garlic parmesan wings. I love that you can choose between bone-in or boneless depending on what you're in the mood for. Everything came out hot, crispy, and fresh. Between the great happy hour pricing, solid portions, tons of TVs for sports, and a fun, casual vibe, it's definitely a go-to spot for catching a game and grabbing good food. Honestly these were some of the best wings I've ever had. The garlic parm wings were out of this world. The strawberry jalapeño wings were delightful. There are so many flavors I want to try. The garlic cheese curds app was delicious. The brussel sprouts app what should've been the maple syrup flavor more tasted like root beer to us which was a little off putting, but they were cooked well. Typical bar atmosphere, smell. Sort of felt sticky if that makes sense. Service was decent. I will go back if in the area. read more

The Wallingford location was both welcoming and clean upon my arrival. It is a two floor sports bar setting, where you seat yourself and even as I was sitting, with a few other patrons in the spot, my waitress came over and asked what I would like to drink. I went with my usual, water and ginger ale. Looking over their wing flavor selection, I went with the PB&J Wings (no fluff) but blue cheese instead. of the fluff. These wings were not only flavorful. but crispy too.The meat had a nice chew to it, not overcooked and the peanut butter exploded upon the first bite. The sweetness of the jelly was a great addition but the flavor profile hit a new level of tasty, once I attacked my wing with the blue cheese. When you take savory and sweet, mix it with a nice tangy bite, it transforms into a well rounded experience within your mouth that you did not ask for but loved receiving. Though my GAME DAY Loaded potatoes lacked flavor and that's with already having scallions, sour cream and bacon on them. I even added salt and pepper and unfortunately, that did not help these loaded potatoes at all. They were over cooked and dried out. Nothing worth really talking about at this point. My curly fries were just ok but they were Luke warm, leaning towards cold; better than Michael Jackson lean in Smooth Criminal. These fries lacked the love that fries provide as a side. Let us make our way over to my Dallas Cowboy Burger! A nice juicy beef burger, with a little pink for that bite we all crave. Well seasoned with a nice uptick from the pepper jack cheese. Onion Rings and BBQ Sauce helped to round this burger off in a way that the flavor sufficed ones expectations. As for the lettuce and tomatoes, they provided extra moisture. So we hit a few good points here and missed on some but it was an ok experience all in all and the staff was amazing. They were on point and very friendly. read more

Came to watch a football game that they didn't have on at the bar. Sat in the corner, where no one else was sitting let alone watching the games and they wouldn't change a tv to put the game on. We were to sliders on Monday the holiday . It was quite then got pretty busy fast . Our wAiter was very good considering he had 9 tables . He kept apologizing but it was fine . We started out with the pixels and peppers very good but the peppers were very hot the side of regular ranch was definitely a good touch . We then order a taco salad and I had the pup of the day which was the butternut squash a cup , and the grilled cheese on Texas toast.. It was pretty good. This place is a perfect spot for wings and football! I came with a friend on Saturday night but Sunday Is prime time here. We got an order of their famous wings, well done and they were nice enough to split the flavors: Cajun and Garlic parm. All I have to say is WOW garlic parm! So delicious and crispy, I even snuck a few wings before I remembered to take a picture! They also have a nice big bar with a surprisingly good cocktail menu and private rooms upstairs to accommodate large parties. Their burgers are really good and you have to try the steak tacos ! My husband and I visited Sliders in Wallingford on October 16. I LOVE wings. I've been a hard core wing lover since I was a kid. I was pretty excited to head to a place that was a finalist for best wings in a magazine. Eh. I was pretty disappointed. I originally got: Sweet & Smoky - These were okay. The smoky (I'm guessing liquid smoke) overpowered the sauce so after 2 wings, that was enough for me. I likely wouldn't get these again. Buffalo Hot - These were delicious. I loved them and would definitely eat these again. Caribbean Jerk - these were awful. I LOVE jerk seasoning. It's one of my favorite flavors. This tasted like burnt. Burnt what? Who knows. Just burnt. There was zero jerk flavor to this sauce, in my opinion. Also, on the sauce menu, these were listed as spicier than Buffalo Hot. Negative. They were not. So. The waitress was very nice. I did tell her I did not like the Caribbean Jerk at all so she offered another sauce. I chose: Flamin' Raspberry - I did not like these either. WAY too sweet. And again, they were listed as spicier than the Buffalo Hot - there was like NO spice to these wings. I was highly disappointed. So while the waitress was nice and we were seated very quickly - the service was very slow. I would be hard-pressed to revisit Sliders. I do hope I can find a good wing place, though! read more

My friends and I recently enjoyed a delicious meal here in the bar area! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the wide variety of wing flavors that they had to offer. My favorite was definitely the garlic parm. Obviously the sliders themselves were a hit too! Not to mention the fried Oreos were out of this world! Came here yesterday to celebrate New Year's Eve with my boyfriend and my friend. The inside was super dark and it was hard to read the menus but we used our phone screens to light them up. Our waitress was so kind and nice to us and was super funny too!! We ordered Onion rings and Curly fries with our wings. The Onion Rings were a little soggy and not really my kinda onion ring but my boyfriend really liked them. The curly fries were really good too. For wings, we got so many! My fave was the salt and vinegar dry rub wings. They were so good. They were moist and wet on the inside and had great texture, big wings too. First off the woman bartender was thee drunkest person in this place, our server sat down at her friends table every chance she had too hang out, plus our food order was completely wrong and took forever. Which makes sense why our table was never cleared off the entire night. Tried their "Cherry Pepper Parm" 'sauce'. Was far from impressed First of all, it is literally a combination of Parmesan sprinkled on top of a mixture of red and green, chopped up Cherry peppers. It is not a sauce. Nor is it a dry rub, it should be in a separate menu heading. Sauces drip. This did not coat anything. If anything it was two ingredients thrown together that weren't really a 'dry rub' so they said it was a sauce. Whomever came up with their current 'new' sauces like PB&J and 'Truffalo' is trying far, far too hard. Try Sriracha, that's popular. Or how about anything using horse radish or Wasabi? read more

Been a few times in the last few months and I've always had a good experience. The staff here seem to be really nice, friendly, and attentive. Even when we were here on a busy Friday (or was it Saturday) and sat in a corner of the bar, we were never neglected. The wings here are really good. Clearly some of this depends on what flavor you get, but the dry rubs always come out crispy and full of flavor. This time around I got the buffalo chicken salad (with the hot buffalo sauce) and it was really good. It may look like it doesn't have a lot of chicken but when you cut it up it's plenty. Salad greens were crisp and dry (I hate when you get a pool of water at the bottoms of the bowl). And the dressing always comes on the side. As I prefer boneless wings, I'm in heaven at Sliders. They have the best boneless wings around with so many flavor options. They recently revamped their menu and took off my favorite flavor, salt and vinegar. While I'm sure if I asked they'd accommodate my request, it's also forced me to broaden my horizon and try new flavors. Can confirm, they've satiated my quest for savory flavors. Portions are also huge, so the fact that prices went up a bit don't upset me. I believe they have happy hour prices, too. Ok, so onto the beer. They have the typical drafts but always have local and unique taps. We always are up to try something new and Sliders tap list delivers. They also have ciders, mixed drinks and wines. While we haven't had cable in years (Netflix bandwagon over here)...we find ourselves at Sliders when a football craving comes on. They also turn up the volume so you can actually hear the game which I prefer. This place also gets five stars from me because they're predictable. I usually never write reviews, but tonight's service and food were particularly bad. My wife and I have been to this location three times and all three times, the service was terrible. Tonight, however, the service was the worst. My wife and I sat down and it took the server 15 minutes to recognize that we were even there. After placing our orders, it took another 15 minutes for the food to come out. Not only did my food come out late, I received the wrong order. I had ordered the wings because in my opinion, this location has great wings. Instead of the wings, I was given chicken tenders. I got the waitress's attention and told her about the mishap. The waitress then told me that it was her fault and asked if I was going to still eat it. Afraid that it would take another 15 minutes for wings to come out, I settled to just eat the tenders. As I bit into the tenders, I realized that the meat was super dry and the sauce was barely coated on. I ate three and could not continue. After serving our food, the waitress did not check on us once. Because the food was dry, I ended up drinking all of my water, however, even after 15 minutes, the waitress did not come to check on us. The next time we would speak to the waitress was when she came by with the check. I hate that I had this experience with this place. I love their wings, but anything outside of their wings, it seems like the food is barely edible. They also need to do a better job with their wait staff. read more

Pretty solid sports bar in the area. Plenty of seating. There are tons of sauce and hamburger options, but I actually opted for the cod sandwich, which was pretty standard and fulfilling. The side salad for just 99 cents more is great for the value. Wings sandwich is kind of a waste; you don't need all that bread. Go for the wings if you want 'em! A tad bit pricey (15.50) and the wings weren't that good I was a bit confused for a cool sports bar to have such small wings with hardly no meat on them . Dropped in for lunch today with my fiancee. We ordered 6 Wings, Memphis Rub. They were alright, decent, but far from the best wings we've ever had. My fiancee ordered the Beer Battered Cod sandwich w/ regular fries, I went with a Cuban sandwich w/ Sweet potato fries. She was very underwhelmed as a whole with her meal, biggest complaint was that her fries were "limp tasting". My Cuban was tasty enough, but for $10.99, I honestly felt the meal was overpriced. It was week one if the 2017 NFL season. Sliders was a decent place to watch the games. They pretty much had every game on the TV's and the place is big enough so it isn't too crowded, but small enough that there is still excitement in the air. To better the experience I think every sports bar should have one TV set to the NFL red zone channel. 7 hours of commercial free football. You can't beat it. The service was very pleasant. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu, very nice, not too intrusive and was able to make some very good suggestions. Food was on the better side of bar food. What I liked here is the menu was different they had things such as fried pickles and grilled cheese bites. You don't see those often and it set their menu apart from other bars in the area. I got four appetizers the fried pickles, jalapeño poppers, macaroni and cheese bites and the pretzel with two dipping sauce. In order from best to worst: Jalapeño poppers were the best. Anything with cream cheese is delicious. It's always a crap shoot with jalapeño poppers because sometimes they are made with cheddar cheese. When they are made with cream cheese, oh man....so good. These were made with cream cheese. Pretzel with two dipping sauces was next. The dipping sauces where a white queso and a honey mustard. Both complimented the perfectly cooked pretzel. Crisp on the outside and soft on the inside with just the right amount of salt. Mac n' cheese bites where great as well. They came with a tomato soup like dipping sauce that was delicious. I am not sure you can mess up macaroni and cheese and that fact was solidified today. Finally the fried pickles and peppers. They were ok, the creamy Cajun dipping sauce made the dish, but all in all I probably wouldn't get this again. I got it because I never had them, and to be honest I wasn't missing much. They weren't awful, but they were used almost as like a commercial for the other two apps. When we needed a break we popped a fried pickle or pepper in our mouth. All in all sliders is a solid place to watch the games on Sunday's. Service is friendly, food is good and atmosphere is nice. Went to Sliders for a party event recently. Never been to a Sliders before. Maybe this one shouldn't of been my first. Not sure. I ordered a Buffalo Chicken wrap with a side of tots. I'd have to say that the wrap was extremely Blah. It was the most basic build of a Buffalo Chicken wrap I've ever seen in all my years of ordering that menu item. The wrap was very small for the price and the chicken had very little actual buffalo sauce on it. The remaining ingredients were scarce and unnoticeable. Like use some fresh romaine lettuce. When eating the wrap didn't really do it for me, I ventured to try their Nachos. I'm here for friend. Got to stay past the entree. Nachos can totally make up for a bad meal, right? Nope. 0-2. The nachos were also very basic looking and visually blah. Cheese and queso slathered across the entirety of the plate. I actually struggled to find any other ingredient on them. I dug and dug too. You know when your trying to find a chip that will be like an All-in-One snag. Couldn't find one. My table and I couldn't finish them. Half of plate to the trash. I cannot be dragged to this place again. I'd rather eat a Hungry Man dinner. read more

Went here to watch a football game with a friend and absolutely loved it! Our waitress was quite possibly the nicest waitress I've had at any restaurant ever! (A great wait staff is so important to me when going to a restaurant!) My friend and I got some wings and their Mac n Cheese wedges. The wedges were absolutely delicious! They came with a little dish of tomato soup to dip in, which was quite possibly my favorite part! For the wings, we split our order of 24 into 3 different flavors. Their menu has at least 20 different flavors ranging from mild to spicy. We got the teriyaki, buffalo parmesan, and the honey bbq. For bar food it's pretty ok but the kids like it so we kept coming back. The service is worse than abysmal. Everything takes forever and usually is wrong - they always forget to put in drink orders until you remind them... and that's if you can ever get anyone's attention. The last few times we went, it took almost 45 minutes just to get the check and another 20 to get her to come back to take the cards - if it was a busy night I get it, but we were one of 2 tables and tried over and over to get her attention. The worst is the cleanliness- we ordered 2 beers and asked for glasses - the waitress brought over 2 filthy glasses that had been bussed off another table that were covered in filthy buffalo finger prints and stuffed with wet naps for us to drink out of. It was absolutely repulsive, but of course she was nowhere to be found and we had to ask someone else to help us. We liked the sauces, but there's barely any sauce on the wings. Twice we had the basket come out with no sauce, and then were charged when we asked for more... they were just dry boneless wings but we had to pay extra for the sauce we ordered in the first place.
