Took a road trip from Los Angeles and ended up here, along the way. It was near the Tesla supercharger, so we decided to give it a go. Bad decision on our part, the guy behind the counter was offended by us 1) Not being from round these parts, 2) Not being a Trump supporter (Sorry, I wanted shrimp, not a Political debate), 3) Not being up to date on the College football game. Long story short, the dude pulls out a pistol and cocks it in front of me, saying people carry around here. I don't find that very appropriate. Hands down THE FRESHEST seafood I've EVER had in my 38 years of existence! End story! My BFF has lived in Louisiana for her entire adult life. She now raises her beautiful family with her husband in Slidell, LA and said if I wana bring seafood back home to Michigan with me- DUH which I did!, this was the place to get it from. Hot damn was she right! Just another reason for me to love this lady! Slidell Seafood is legit the freshest- BEST seafood I've ever had in my entire life. It's fresh off the boat that morning for you to purchase and cook as you please. If you don't wana do the work, like me, you can purchase already boiled. I went in around 5pm on a Thursday and Steve the owner welcomed me with a Huge smile, and we exchanged greetings- I knew I was in a cool place! He said, let me guess you want crawfish. I laughed and said yah. My "accent" gave me away. I had called earlier and inquired about prices. Apparently Michiganders have an "accents". We both smiled and chuckled, and got down to business- crawfish business that is. 10 pounds of boiled crawfish were coming back to Michigan with me. 1,088 miles, over 2 days back to MI so I could help my father cross something off of his bucket list. Steve, told me how to package and travel safely with this precious cargo. I paid the man and had the pleasure of shaking his hand. I thanked him and told him I'll seen him I'm about a year. He wished me safe travels and said, see you soon! I was glowing when I got in my truck- my husband asked "that good huh??" The crawfish??? Haven't you seen the pictures??? They were amazing that evening when I got back to my BFFs house and I ate about pound of them! I had to resist from eating anyone for fear I wouldn't have any to take home. They were hot and fresh outa the boiler. The seasoning was spot on! Spicy, but no so spicy that you can't feel your lips by the time you're done eating. They were HUGE too- but still super sweet and tender! You could also get the claw meat out too- which is sweet and delicious. I packed them just like Steve told me too, and they made it safely to MI. My dad was in his glory. I've eaten them for the last 3 days. Delicious every time. I have about 1.5lbs left that I'm saving for tomorrow. I'm nearly in tears that after that, they're all gone. BEST CRAWFISH EVER!! Not to mention, at a great price! 10lbs cost me $30. Steve, keep the fresh Louisiana seafood coming! 5 Stars and a Huge recommendation!! read more

This man is unbelievable. My husband went here when we first moved to Slidell from New Orleans looking for good boiled seafood places. My husband said that he ended up walking out of the business because the man who runs the business answers every phone call and had no sense of urgency when trying to serve customers. It's like he's not interested. Today, I go in for the first time, and there's a man waiting in front of me but I can hear the employee talking from the back of the building, "yea I'm taking a break. Sometimes you have to take a break. Nothing you can do about it. Even if they were shooting outside, I'd be siting in the back taking a break." Then I hear the man answer the phone. I finally leaned over and asked the man in front of me "is he open?" The man replied "yes, but he's taking a break." I just walked out. He clearly has no customer service so I won't be spending my money here. How rude! read more

I drove all the way from walker to this market one day. It was by far the best decision I've ever made. The crawfish are seasoned perfectly and great in size. They were so clean and fresh. The crab and shrimp are great size. Seasoned perfectly, as well . Definitely get the mushrooms!! I moved away temporarily and can't wait to get back to Slidell seafood. My husband loves seafood like a lot of Louisianans ,And always wants to help out a local business.Last crawfish season we had been driving by and he decided he wanted a few pounds of crawfish so we ordered 5 lbs. Well i am 5"2 and my husband is 6ft tall so i was able to watch the guy weigh the ordered , well i guess him and the young lady sitting on a ice chest did not notice me watching , He weigh it correctly but then said i will double bag it for you,My husband all excited sure thanks !Well it was not a rebag he stuck his hand in our bag and pulled out 2 hand fulls of crawfish and then rebagged the ordered and smiled and we paid and left. I did not tell my husband what the guys did cause it would have made him go nuts in that place. but when we got home he a lover of crawfish noticed that it was more like 2 lbs then 5 lbs. A few days ago my husband saw they had crabs on sale , and decide well , he would boil live ones himself , I warned him they are not a good local business they cheat there neighbors.He said how can they cheat on live crabs? So we went i stayed in the car cause i felt they stole from us before , but my hubby a good person when it comes to local business said i will give them another chance, He ordered his dozen and watched the guy go in back where you can see the where they had there live crabs and was slowly picking through the crabs? Well my hubby the kind hearted man he is ,thought the guy was being thoughtful about which crabs he was given him. We get them home and guess what!! Ya he was being thought ful , picking out all the dead crabs !! and placing them in the bag !!! WTF really my husband is chef ! you can not boild dead crabs!! they end up tasting nasty!! My husband was not a kind man when he took them back got his money and let the guy know we will never , never , never !!! be going back there again! and our family and friends will be warned!! read more
