I came here because I was just exploring Fresno, and heard some friends say they stop here on the regular to get a drink after work, or before going out to the club. This place is in a strip mall, and not what I expected. When I got there, I guess there had just been a fight. One of the guys was still at the bar, telling me he had to beat up his friend because he was on drugs, and disrespecting the bartender. Whatever. I just came for a drink. Slick's wasn't too clean or friendly, from my perspective. Maybe from a Fresno point of view, it's a cool place. I may or may not come back. You posted this review 9 hours ago. That was 3am. Probably still very upset. Your post also seems to have many holes in it. Perhaps now, after you've slept on it, you can look back and take a look at the whole situation and think about how things could have been handled differently. Don't dwell on it. I met a group of coworkers here over the weekend for a few drinks. It was my first visit so I came with a total open mind. My initial thought after walking in was that is was a little uncared for as far as cleanliness, the RR had no toilet paper and the paper towels that people were using for their clean hands was on the floor. Later when I went to close out my second tab I was told my card was declining and that was SUPER embarrassing! I knew I had available funds in both of the account linked to the card but since I was tipsy I didn't think to much into it. When I checked my phone I saw that my card had been double charged a few different times!!! My bank had temporarily locked my card due to this and the final charge had gone through TWICE! I will never return to this location for this very reason. read more

It's been well over 4 months since my last visit to Slicks, and I have to say this bar has really gone down hill since Brandon and Phylisha left, there's been a revolving door of bartenders who are either mediocre or outright terrible. The drink prices constantly change and there's no consistency on a how a drink is made. For the size of the bar, you'd think the bartender would be quick but it's mostly a wait for a weak drink. The bouncer is an alright dude and does a decent job in keeping order but what kills this bar is the lack of good customer service and consistency in price. The selection is pretty much typical don't expect anything high end, it's pretty much a dive bar that's slightly classier than Ewells. I wouldn't come back here unless I was on my way home and this was the last stop before last call. read more

I used to work at this bar! And it's always been a chill hang out spot. There are always different crowds of people there too. So you never know who you will meet! It's gotten even better since Juana and Katie started working there weekend nights. They have fun with the customers, dance, play great music, and are both super sweet and sexy. It's a small dive bar, but it knows exactly what it is and excels at it. The drinks are cheap and the bartenders are easy to get to know. There's a loyal following of regulars. Karaoke on Thursday nights which brings in a fun group of people. Mostly everyone is friendly and just there for a good time and to escape everyday problems. read more

This place is a dump. The owner is a jerk and what ever you do only get bottled beer. The sinks and glasses are NOT sanitary. Not to mention the amount of beggars and homeless that hang out in front. Very friendly bar, that gets kind of rowdy. The bartenders are all very outgoing, and get very feisty with the patrons, whether they're regulars or not. Internet jukebox, with eclectic music playing all the time: rock, rap, country, etc. There are plenty of TV's to catch the game, and a cool auto racing themed atmosphere. Very clean for a dive bar. I came from out of town and found this place on Yelp which I didn't even read the reviews before coming here but only went here because it happened to be in walking distance to our hotel so we came here to have a drink at this hole in the wall bar. This bar appears to welcome their regulars and definitely knows how to make others feel unwelcome. The second we walked in the stares began and there was no welcoming from the bartender. I walked up to the bar to order our drinks and just stood at the bar and waited for what felt like 5 minutes as the bartender looked my way but continued carrying on her personal conversation with the locals which she was cussing up a storm which seemed very odd to me and gave me a bad impression about this bar right from the get go. The area the bar is located at did not seem to be the safest area in Fresno to begin with. They have a jukebox that actually has plays really good music so that was a plus. I went to use the restroom and it's obvious that it does not get cleaned very often so I actually came back and finished up our drinks and left. Due to the service, atmosphere and dirtiness of the bar I will never be back to this bar even if it was across the street from my hotel. read more

Slicks is a great dive. Small hole in the wall with good bartenders and great drinks at pretty low prices. Full bar with all the basic beers and liquors. Listen to the jukebox, play some pool, watch a game on TV and hang out. They don't serve food but we've taken stuff in before and they usually don't mind. Brandon is the best. Ask him to make something up for you, but I would recommend staying away from his concoction "The Stanky Leg." read more
