Sleep is so important... especially when you don't get quality sleep or don't get enough of it. This has become an issue for me in the last few months and luckily, I found a bed I liked here at Sleep Number.
I believe thisblocation in Mission Valley has most of the beds (if not all) that they sell, for customers to demo in their showroom. I think we (wifey and I) tried nearly every bed on display and settled on the Innovation series (i8).
It's described as, "Our most popular combination of advanced temperature balancing and plush, pressure-relieving support." Their description highlights and sums up everything perfectly. The bed does not get hot and we don't sleep hot in it. It is plush, but not overly so and best of all (as most people know) Sleep Number beds are adjustable.
The bed adjusts from like 0 to 100, but in increments of 5, meaning there are only 20 settings. The higher the number, the firmer the bed gets. We both just happen to like the bed set at 100, but each side can be adjusted individually to that person's preference. The bed can be set to auto adjust when you sleep, which is a nice and very cool feature.
The bed can also track how well you are sleeping by connecting with an app on your phone (you have to download it of course). Based on how you sleep, it provides you with a sleep score which is color coded (yellow is bad, green is good, and blue is great).
For the price of the bed, it should automatically include the remote. The remote is optional ($50 additional), but you can use your phone instead of the remote which I think is the better route. You just link the bed to your phone and Bluetooth and can adjust settings through the app.
The only negative for this bed is the price. It was like four grand total! They charged an automatic $250 delivery and setup fee which is mandatory for the Innovation series and certain models.
We did get the bed close to Black Friday, so it was discounted. Otherwise, I think the normal cost is $4300 or something like that. I'd definitely wait for a holiday to get a sale price and also check online to make sure the price isn't higher at the store compared to their website.
The service person was nice and personable. They are able to tell you about all the features of each bed. They can also recommend a bed based on if you sleep on your back or side, materials you prefer, your budget, and so forth. I asked her which bed she owned and she also owns the i8. She gave good insight as to why she chose that bed and what she likes and dislikes about it. I think employees should try or own the product they are selling.
You can't really put a price on good sleep, so I'm not going to take a star off for the price. I do feel that if you get good sleep and can be more productive and healthier, that it is worth the investment. Health is wealth... right?
