I have purchased a Pillow here that I have used for probably three years now and has been a Godsend. They were super helpful and lovely. They had their full location in the square. If I am looking for a new mattress, I would visit here before going anywhere else, and check out their variety of ergonomic matresses read more

What can I say...I'm a glutton for COMFORT, QUALITY, and GREAT SLEEP. There was nothing "wrong" with my previous bed, but I wanted to treat myself to a higher level of self-care and knew that Sonia would ensure I received the best, highest quality at a reasonable price, and boy did she deliver! All I can say is: BEST SLEEP OF MY LIFE since I upgraded with her guidance and suggestions. She offered a turn-key service of not just the bed, but everything else you want to get "just right" when you're looking for great comfort and quality. She communicated through the whole process and everything came together perfectly. Thank you Sleep Sovereign and Sonia for upgrading my life in a big and meaningful way!! read more

I desperately need a new bed the I love puns so we are a perfect match! This place is also a gem store and local art gallery which all makes complete sense in my head. Everyone here is really kind and genuine with actual kombucha brewingclassez, too. If they added a pho stand, I would just live there! I was happy to find parking, which is rare for a neighborhood like North Park. Support these small shops everyone! read more

I went to an amazing shadow work class there a few weeks ago. Demi is a talented and amazing instructor and I loved the venue. I had a wonderful experience and I will definitely be back for future classes and to do some shopping! Sonia is fabulous and attentive and has curated a beautiful space. read more

Absolute best customer service in town! My husband and I are so pleased that we bought our first king sized mattress here. After having a bad experience with Living Spaces I couldn't have been more grateful to have found this place. From the moment you walk in the door you are greeted with positive and welcoming energy and it made me feel right at home. Everyone was so helpful. Even if everything didn't go as planned along the way Sonia went above and beyond to keep us smiling. I will continue to come back time and again! Thank you Sonia and Steve and all the staff at Sleep Bedder for making our experience five star. -Brittany and Chris read more

*update: I previously reviewed the incorrect location* After sleeping on my mattress for WAY too long, I was overdue for an update. I dreaded the entire process. What's a reasonable price? How do I know it'll solve my back issues? And I really didn't look forward to being hustled and hassled by big box furniture salesmen. A friend recommended Sleep Bedder! Don't be discouraged by the hipster vibe or free bone broth class flyers near the front door. It's a small shop, but they have a variety of mattresses in store for you to "test out". I always hate when they insist you roll around on weird public beds, but Sonia assisted me and wasn't pushy. She wanted to find the best bed for me, she asked me several questions to help narrow my search. I chose one, paid via iPad and was out the door in under 45 minutes. They delivered my new mattress and hauled away the old one, less then one week later my back pain went away. Affordable and professional, I can't recommend Sleep Bedder enough! P.S. Thanks again for everything Sonia! read more

This place is not only a shop but it's a gentle community gathering place. They hold events and workshops, sell magical things and mattresses! Sonia the owner, is a magical being who has this gift of making you feel like you're the only person in a room full of people. Her hospitality, attentiveness, and care is like no other. Offering blankets when it's cold and tea when you are thirsty. She's super knowledgable about the items she carries and is able to talk about them in a way that isn't pushy or annoying or seems like she's selling them to you. She genuinely wants you to have what you need but only if you want. I also love going to events with Julia! She is also amazing and her events/sessions are priceless although they are super affordable and accessible. Definitely a destination shopping spot! read more

What a cool store! Thanks for hosting a private event for Sofar Sounds! If you haven't heard of Sofar Sounds, they're a group that brings musicians to people's and small businesses. Look up Sofar Sounds San Diego to see how you can contribute or attend. It was really cool that they had a bar and camp kitchen as well. The camp kitchen was selling beef bone broth, squash soup and congee. They also have bone broth workshops, they didn't have the workshop tonight. Oh and I almost forgot for the feee food, they had cholla bread and brownies. The bands that played were Luneaux, Ki, and Jack McMullen. The beds here are pretty affordable considering they're non toxic. Oh and I forget they have Yoga classes, not that I'm crazy about Yoga. read more

My new favorite store! Eco friendly, organic and loaded with so much goodness by local artists. Sonia gave me a warm welcome with this amazing homemade healthy beverage and invited me to take a nap on one of their newest organic beds by Sage, so dreamy! She made me feel like a guest in her home. This is the most lovely, open, airy, inviting boutique bed and organic healthy goody shop in town. The art was beautiful and I can't wait to purchase my bed, organic pillow, eco-friendly bed frame, headboard, oils and much more here! Thank you Sonia for taking customer service over the top and making me feel like a friend. :) read more

It's hard to put Sleep Bedder into words. Walking into the shop feels like walking into an art gallery that happens to sell beds. Or like walking into someone's beautifully warm and welcoming home where mattresses have taken the place of normal living room furniture. I met the owner, Sonia, on my first visit and I have to say she's one of the most positive and radiant individuals you'll meet. It's clear that she puts her heart and soul into the business and always puts the customer first. Thus far I've visited Sleep Bedder to admire art, to socialize, and to buy a new box spring. I haven't made it to the community yoga yet, but I've heard it's lovely. The thing that shocks me most about Sleep Bedder is actually how reasonable the prices are. When words like 'artisan' and 'ecofriendly' are thrown around, my brain immediately starts to think 'expensive'. Nice locally manufactured mattresses were WAY cheaper than I expected... way cheaper than you see advertised at other major mattress stores. And whoa, so comfortable. Mix in one-of-a-kind handmade bed frames and tables comprised of reclaimed wood and beautiful succulents growing everywhere and Sleep Bedder feels a little bit magical and surreal. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. read more

First of all this is a beautiful store, open air and comfortable atmosphere. Sonia was incredibly helpful and I walked away with exactly what I wanted. Will definitely find a reason to come back! read more

This was my first time buying a mattress and it was a great experience. Would highly suggest versus commercial stores like Sleep Train. They are not pushy and offered a discount on one of the beds because there was a blemish. Also, you're supporting a local business! I had my mattress for 3 months now and love it btw. read more

If I could give more stars, I would. This is an amazing store with a great selection of mattresses and furniture. I got a great non-toxic mattress, bed frame, kapok pillows and sheets for a great price. Sonia is very knowledgeable and friendly, providing a wonderful shopping experience that you will not get anywhere else. She offers a "white glove" service that handles all the logistics of delivery and assembly, so I literally didn't have to do anything, making this process completely stress-free. Even if you don't need a mattress, this is a cool store to visit, as it features a lot of products and events from local artists. read more

Wow, this place is such a gem. I expected to find a new mattress but found so much more. The owner Sonia walked me through her wonderfully curated shop and explained in detail the different types of mattresses available. I felt very valued as a customer and was impressed with the guarantee offered on the beds. So much to see at the North Park location of Sleep Bedder - beautiful art, hand built furniture and bed frames of reclaimed wood by a local carpenter, Kokedama string gardens and a really cool demo kitchen (that i really want in my own home). I was blown away by the level of passion and creativity Sonia put into her space and at the way she interacted with each customer with such integrity and care. Although she was busy, she took the time to help each person in a very professional and informative way. I highly recommend checking out Sleep Bedder if you want a good nights sleep AND amazing style for your home and life. Just expect to want to hang out there too because it is so cozy. The bonus: She runs a community yoga studio there too! read more

Interesting place, saw a few things I want to think about and I bought a pair of earrings. Unfortunately I asked for help-info on a stool and the guy helping me got distracted a few times then finally stopped talking to me and went off with I guess a friend. A lot of things I hope to check out again next time I'm in the area. Crafts, jewelry, art, furniture, mattresses. read more

I love this store! So many cool things to look at with a wonderful selection of art, stones and beds. My partner and I came in to Sleep Bedder just to browse the mattresses after work one day and we ended up buying a bed on the spot! The owner Sonja and her helper Stephen were so wonderful and really worked with us on payment and shipping options. Highly recommend these eco friendly mattresses that are good for you and the planet! Oh, and I love that every time we visit the store, we're always welcomed with a smile and offered a tasty beverage of tea, kombucha and sometimes chocolate! Don't buy beds online! Sleep bedder is awesome! My first time buying a bed and Sonia and Raul were so helpful. Sonia met me at one store and went out of her way to meet me at the mid city location...and to make sure the bed was affordable for my price range. Customer service A+ New comfy bed...priceless read more

I only have one to say about Sleep Bedder.....but it would require me to write a full length novel to do it. Sonia is the best in the west for sure, and she worked real hard with me to find me the oak bedroom I wanted at a price that could make it happen for me. Better put on some SPF 1,000,000 and dark shades, as Sonia has an aura as bright as the sun. read more

From the impression of only my first visit, this place seems to provide customers with a large and enjoyable number of cozy products for home, as well a very helpful and excellent staff, with advice and insight to any interests you can find there! They carry everything from the bedding supplies you were probably expecting (by the name), to a pleasant array of art, decor... eventually meshing into personal treats, from things edible to wearable and/or therapeutic! Definitely worth stopping by! read more

It was a wonderful experience dealing with Sleep Bedder. Would definitely shop for beds from them again......

Sonia was one of the main reasons we purchased a wallbed at sleep bedder. She was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and easy to work with. My wife would not let me walk out of that store without buying from this establishment! We also received a quality product and extremely happy. I would highly recommend visiting this store and your shopping will end here. read more

I have never been to a mattress store like this in my life. I want to live at Sleep Bedder. It's such a positive, Zen environment with a cool staff. There is no pressure at Sleep Bedder and they sell amazing sleep systems! They have products that you will not find around town and I asked one of the owners why their shop has such a great energy and I was given an education on feng shui, natural rocks and crystals, natural and customizable mattresses, and karma. If you're either A. Turned off of traditional mattress shops or B. Seeking a better sleep solution or C. Wanting to buy a last second Christmas gift or hip/cool gift for your partner or nest than SLEEP BEDDER IS THE BETTER CHOICE-lol-yes, I'm cheesy but seriously, this place is amaze balls! read more

My boyfriend came home one day really excited about the new memory foam mattress he bought. It was comfortable enough at first but after a couple months, it felt like we were sleeping on our metal bed frame. He takes it back into Sleep Bedder to have them take a look at it. Turns out the mattress had failed. What wasn't really known at the time was the mattress was really more intended for children - not two grown adults. Sonia offered us store credit and we came back in to try and find something that fit what we were looking for in terms of comfort and budget. We ended up walking out with a new mattress that fit our budget all thanks to Sonia's help and exceptional willingness to work with us to meet our needs. Even if we didn't end up with a new mattress, I would still recommend based on the customer service alone. read more

By far, the best shopping experience I've EVER had! Sonia, the owner, is such a positive, vibrant, sweet, welcoming woman. From the moment my husband, 1 month old, and I walked into the store, it was all smiles and positive energy. She was in the middle of having lunch at their super cute corner kitchen in the store and immediately welcomed us into her home, offering a bit of whatever delicious smelling food they were eating, and apologized for taking a couple minutes while she cleaned up to come help us out. Sonia first started off by getting to know our particular tastes and what exactly we were looking for. Then proceeded to show us and encourage us to try out each one of the beds that fit our particular needs. She was super attentive but gave us space to try out different positions and get a feel for what we liked. She even suggested we cuddle on the one we most liked, just to make sure it was a good fit . We originally walked in just browsing and ended up loving everything about the place and experience that we walked out with a full bedroom set and flyer of ALL their events. From the second I walked into the art filled store, I knew this was a place i wanted to return to again and again. And with all their community events, I can! I can't wait to come back! Side note, Sonia is very attentive to details and her surroundings. As we were at the counter paying, someone outside was smoking and although in the middle of conversation with my husband she stopped and asked one of workers to light an incense to clear out the cigarette smoke for the baby! So sweet and caring, I felt like I was talking to a friend of many years, absolutely loved our experience there! read more

Best big purchase experience! Sonia is amazing and kind, and very knowledgable. We got a mattress that we LOVE, and my husband is super picky. He wasn't completely sold on getting an organic mattress at first, but every morning for the first week he mentioned how much he loves it - and still does. We got the Smarthouse Plush Mattress with a wool mattress topper and Kapok pillows. Love it all! And the store is more than mattresses and bedding. There is art, workshops, and community gatherings. It's a beautiful space. read more

Thanks to Sonia, my boyfriend and I were able to make the right selection in purchasing our new bed. She is very knowledgeable, helpful and understanding of consumers needs. Featuring eco-friendly mattresses, and art work by 72 local artists, Sleep Bedder in North Park at 2855 El Cajon Blvd. Ste.4 (corner of Utah) is a welcoming eclectic communal experience in North Park's burgeoning enviro-aware art and entertainment culture.  Sonia Weksler and Steve Bennett have hosted workshops on making kampuche, kim chee, and sauerkraut, as well as yoga and herbs.  You can find locally made herbal balms and aromatics, fine art and imaginative re-use of materials, as well as great bedding.  I am a neighbor, have some watercolor hung there, and enjoy Sonia and Steve's wonderful energy and hospitality. read more

Great shopping experience! Came in looking for a futon that fits my limited space and Sonia was able to help me every step of the way. If I had any questions in regards to the shipping process or billing, she always responded promptly. What a great business. These people know their beds. I've slept on my amazing bed for about 25 days and I'm in love with my memory foam bed. I sleep on a more popular brand 2 nights a week and I tell you my bed is better. Stop in and shop, I've been into this community minded small business for months taking classes saying hello, great people. Love my bed, received good old fashioned customer service and a better than fare price. read more

Seriously, best mattress buying experience, and beyond. The care and quality that is applied to, not only the mattresses sold, but to every item that is for sale here, is beyond impressive! This was a very straight forward and knowledgable experience for me. No cheesy sales pitch, no trying to sell me the most expensive mattress with trying to add pillows, sheets.. Etc. I told Sonya what I like, she showed me my options without a blink of an eye, I picked one, paid (some are pricey, but most are affordable) and done! No pressure, I was well informed on the material (all sustainable without weird and toxic material) and warranty (fantastic) The delivery was on time and fast, and I couldn't be more happy with my new mattress! Beyond that, the shop has a ton of amazing original art and really great perks like yoga and acupuncture!! Whaaaaat!!??? Why on earth wouldn't you support such a cool, local and independent spot? read more

Though I didn't end up buying a mattress here I very much enjoyed my experience while I was here! Beds made in California and a bunch of local art and items to buy here. Loved the atmosphere here and amazing customer service. read more

This people at this location are super friendly and a joy to talk with when shopping for my bedding needs. A few months back my mom needed a new mattress and the owner Sonia was very accommodating when unfortunately the mattress wasn't exactly what my mom needed. As some of the previous people commented, the environment at this store is friendly and has a good energy all around. I am grateful to see that this place is a part of our little North Park community. I was a customer for at least 10 years at their City Heights location (I believe Sonia's dad was there then) and I look forward to being a customer for many years to come when the need arises. Don't Yelp much, but felt the need to leave a review this time. read more

Sonia's warmth immediately WELCOMES you into her home...that is what the Sleep Bedder Experience feels like...being in the home of a long -time close friend. Even the canine, Rama, provides a friendly lick or snuggle during your visit. Sleep Bedder is the best place in San Diego to buy a bed, hands down. I've become so accustomed to impersonal service at big box stores and chains, that walking into Sleep Bedder was a breath of fresh air (literally, I took a deep breath upon entering). Sonia and crew provided excellent customer service, even offering me a fresh cup of tea as I tried out beds. There was not one hint of pushy salesmanship here, and I was even encouraged to sleep on it and come back. The delivered and set up quickly and professionally as well. I have finally, in my mid-30s, seen the light on how important it is to get a good night's sleep, as we spend a third of our lives doing so. I have had this bed about a month now and never slept so well in my life. I also had the privilege to talk for a bit to Stephen, who does a lot of the in-house woodwork, about creating a custom bed frame with reclaimed wood. Even if you don't need a new bed, you should check out their other offerings, including in-house yoga. If you live in North Park, or anywhere in the surrounding San Diego area, this is a must check out. As another reviewer said, "shop local, shop small". It's a pleasure to support great people doing great things and improving the community with good business. read more

the amazing space, is almost as amazing as someone as versatile and receptive as sonia, facilitate the monthly tribal after hours festival, with some of my favorite things! live music, local vendors, food stuffs, some like crystals and locally made jewlery, readings, ( keys ) , sometimes even alternative therapies , massage, weekly yoga schedules. like this is a community epicenter. and last but not least, the FINE brew of kava, rare, but at this location headed up by one wonderful , Tyshee. thank you and always a pleasure when i can make it out. read more

Went here about a year ago, completely forgot to write a yelp review. The owner was so cute and friendly. The staff was so attentive. The energy was so light and airy. We wanted to purchase a bed for my sister. She fell inlove with a cute set that was a little over her budget. The owner walked in at the exact time we needed her. She marked down the set to accommodate our needs within reason. Will definitely give them more business soon. This is by far the cutest little place ever. read more

This is a great space and so unique. Environment: 1. Beautiful art - artists are often on-site to chat with you about their pieces. 2. There's always a dog there to greet you at the door, along with Sonia the owner! Quality: 1. The beds are so comfortable, it was actually hard to chose one, but 2. Sonia is very kind and really committed to getting you the best fit for how you like to sleep and there are even side-sleeper pillows, which I did not know exisited! 3. Great pricing compared to other places. 4. Eco-friendly options. In essence: I am '5-star pleased' with my experiences there, and thank you - so excited for my new bed!!! read more
