It reminds me of the kind of boutiques I would shop when I lived in Chicago and Austin and that I miss. Scout carries a fun variety. There is top quality vintage furniture and home goods with plenty of new products as well. You can find Baggu reusable bags, fun stationary, quirky gifts like Queer Eye or Golden Girls candles, stickers, and keychains. Today there was even a plant pop-up shop. The owner is the operator and is very friendly. I truly hope this store does well as it fills a niche here in Lafayette that we don't have otherwise. I only worry that not enough people know about this little gem. My only "complaints" would be that I want MORE! More hours (right now they're only open from Wed-Sat 10-3 which means I can only make it on a Saturday) and more inventory! More stationary, and small inventory.

We usually stop at Hobby Lobby first to see what we can find, then head down to Kirkland's if we can't find exactly what we want. The staff here are very friendly and helpful. On our last visit, one staff person alerted me to an online-only coupon that I could use that day. That kind of service will always bring me back.

(True to good customer service, I was able to return the other items when they finally arrived.)

They made it right and replaced the couch. I will say I'm disappointed in the furniture quality. I was hoping it would hold up longer but only after four months the quality is really just subpar. The cushions are already falling, there's a spot on the top of the ottoman cushion that the inside seem is coming undone. The cushions are already flattening from normal use. It looked nice when purchasing, but not made well. But I've learned my lesson and will look for higher quality next time around.
