My husband and I were headed north for the weekend on US131 when our "check engine" light came on. By the time we got to the nearest rest stop, the light was flashing and the vehicle was shaking. We called our mechanic back home, who recommended we get off the highway, head back towards home, and find a shop to stop and "get scanned". Several miles and a lot of shaking later, we were fortunate to happen upon Slavens Auto Technology, and Owner/Tech Tim Slavens. He described what to expect over the next hour or so, but assured us we should be able to get back to our regular auto shop without causing any further damage - which we did. We are thankful that we happened upon Tim Slavens; it was obvious in talking with him that he knows his stuff, and he was gracious and helpful in the middle of his day! read more
