I have missed having service this well! Well done Becca! When leaving, I left my purse hanging on my chair. Ugh!! I called the next day and sure enough the purse was found and cared for until I could retrieve it. It was never touched and nothing missing. Refreshing and I am so thankful for all the staff for being honest. We are traveling and misplacing my purse was stressful. The entire business is run right!

We've gone to Jackson's Pit a few times and are consistently leaving fat, dumb and happy. The food is always well-prepared and balanced, the 'of the Week' selections are unique and, frankly, half of the reason that we keep coming back. The local beer scene is well-represented (taps and bottles) and rotates to keep bringing new brews to try. Taco Tuesdays are a great deal and a lot of fun with the other regulars. Regardless of the up charge, get the fries; you will not be disappointed. I'm stingy and picky, so you know those fries are worth it if I say so. Happy Holidays to Everyone at Jackson's Pit! We've had a great time visiting since we moved here and we're looking forward to more memories in 2023!

The bakery is amazing and it would be hard to select what to taste, except that I was a woman on a mission. I stopped in the week before Fat Tuesday. Placing the order was easy and took only moments to complete. I returned for Mardi Gras and the bakery was understandably busier. There were folks that failed to plan ahead, so their paczki pleasure was impacted. Me, I walked in, the same helpful person was retrieving orders and I picked up my pre-paid dozen quickly. The paczki were amazing and brought me right back to Michigan. The paczki we had in MN were good, but they aren't the same. And I've honestly never had paczki that were SO filled. And the fillings were so fresh, so perfectly balanced with the pastry. We tried six varieties (oof, yeah!) and loved them all. The prune paczki is an easy favorite, being traditional, but that Bavarian Cream was sublime. I was completely spoiled. It was fun that my first visits here were for 'holiday shopping,' which makes me look forward to coming back and trying more yummy baked items!

The line to pick up pizzas is no joke, so be prepared to wait for your pie. That said, it's totally worth the wait! Madi handled the details at the bar expertly. She hustled all night, bringing drinks and taking phone orders while coordinating table service and pickup orders. She's the best and pretty fun to talk to (when she gets a moment to do so). The ingredients are fresh and diverse, especially when you build your own pizza. That's what Smokin'Hubster and I did, with the intention of taking home leftovers for lunches. He built a fun pie with pineapple (don't judge!), sausage and bacon. I was a bit more classic and understated with onions, pepperoni and extra cheese. Oh. My.Cheese! I totally stringed that out; SO YUMMY! Add that we are now known as the "Couple by the tap" and it's easy to see how much fun we had. We each brought home 1/2 a pizza, which reheated perfectly at 375 degrees for 10 minutes on the pizza stone. Yes, you could ask 'Chef Mike' and nuke your food in the microwave, but then you miss the chance to make your house smell fantastic. Keep it old school and you can't go wrong!

On the food side, the strength is clearly in the breakfast-style comfort items. Things like omelets, hash browns, and simple diner plates tend to come out hot and filling, with portions that lean generous rather than precise. The quality is solid but not highly refined, more focused on consistency and comfort than technique. Some plates feel better executed than others, but nothing really stands out as exceptional. Service is friendly and straightforward, but it can vary depending on how busy it is. When it is running smoothly, staff are attentive and quick with refills and check-ins. During busier periods, though, the pacing slows and things feel a bit stretched, especially with table timing and order flow. The ambiance is very much old-school diner. It is casual, bright, and functional, with a lived-in feel that matches the style of food. It is not trying to be modern or trendy, and that actually works in its favor. It feels like a place built for regulars, early mornings, and quick, familiar meals rather than long dining experiences. Overall, this is a dependable diner with strong comfort food fundamentals, friendly enough service, and an atmosphere that fits its identity, even if consistency can vary depending on timing and crowd.
